  • Travelling in GREECE! Levante Ferries, PATRAS to KEFALONIA! SUPER STRESSFUL
In this video we check out of our lovely little Airbnb in Patras and make our way to the ferry port… from this point things went a little pear shaped!
We couldn’t book an Uber or find a taxi so we didn’t have much choice but to walk. It was midday and 30 degrees celcius but the port was only about 20 minutes away, so we dragged our bags along the streets of Patras to the ferry port when we got there we found that it was the wrong port for the ferry we needed! Levante Ferries failed to give any information on the ticket we had booked the night before and their website just took us directly to a blank Google maps page so we typed in ‘Patras ferry port’ and that’s what came up. Turns out we weren’t the only ones to make this mistake. Luckily we managed to jump in a taxi which took us to the correct port and we finally made the ferry in time but not before even more confusion between the ticket office and the ferry entrance staff.
We finally set sail with us and our bags onboard the ferry and make our way to explore our first Greek Island!

Wow looks like a stressful start to your trip! Love the views from the ferry as you leave the shore. Pleased it was easy for you to get coach on arrival!

We've had our fare share of bad travel experiences, but none quite as bad as your experience with Lavante ferries. So funny about the seat spacing on the ferry. It really made absolutely no sense. We're so happy to see that the day ended much better than it started, and you have such a beautiful view from your apartment to relax and de-stress. All's well that ends well!

So sorry it was such a stressful day for you two! Walking in the hot and dragging your luggage along doesn't seem like a great way to start your day. And you walked 2 kilometers extra, bummer! Website issues, taxi issues, ah so sorry.
But you saved 300 pounds by not flying? Wow - that's great! It's so hard to decided if you should save money or opt for a more comfortable and stress free travel experience sometimes. But happy it worked out for you two in the end. You made it :)
