Considering the hatred and hostility that Freddie faced every day of his life simply because he existed, I don't think he could ever imagine the impact he would have, not just amongst the LGBT+ community but his music speaks to people across all walks of life, gender identity, social standing etc. He touched every aspect of our society, not just with his music but with his example. He was an incredible person and he is an icon too so many for good reason. A shame he never got too see his legacy that would lead to bringing so much awareness to many important subjects.

You know, I never saw Freddie as a symbol of anything. I just saw him as an incredibly talented genuine person with an incredible voice. I will never put anyone in a box be it LGBTQ or whatever. He was a wonderful human being and that should be enough.

I admire you for telling this story. I'm older than you, I know how it was. Younger people need their history lesson. And I love Tommys voice.
    Thanks

Finest ramble in the reaction world! I'm even older than you and I can remember when MTV broadcast the entire Live Aid concert both sides of the Atlantic, probably the finest thing that network ever did. And thank you for putting Freddie's life in perspective. All of that having been said (I do mean ALL of that!) Tommy can cover almost anything, and the absolute summit of covers is Queen. There are people who can do it as well (Marco comes to mind) but nobody can do it better. Great reaction!

Thank you for the history lection. It's important as you said. I'm way older than you and lived through those times. I worked in Angola, Africa, in 1976-77. Our dr told us he read about a mysterious disease that supposedly came from Africa. So he asked us to keep our eyes open for people with specific symptoms when we worked out in the villages. And I did see some very sick men in a hospital, no diagnosis so it could have been due to a multitude of illnesses. There was a brutal war going on

Don't apologize for your expressions...you did great. I'm a bit younger than you, and tought myself in this things by listening to music in all kind and styles. For me, when I look reactions, I don't only want to hear how amazing it was, because I can think for myself and don't need to be told wheather it was good. I want to hear what this piece of music made with you, which emotions, which thoughts did it cause in you. Thank you for the lesson and Tommy were great again. Can't wait for the next.

Freddie has a LEGACY that has become bigger than the man himself he would be humble by how we speak of him and his impact particularly on the Art of Fronting a Band Live… NOBODY Held A Crowd like Mercury

    "They go back to '73"
My brother saw Queen at The Winter Gardens in Cleethorpes late 73/early 74. Alas, long gone, but it had some big names play there on their way up.
As a book end, I was at the Freddie Mercury Memorial Concert at the old Wembley Stadium (again long gone - the new one lacks 'something') in 1992.

Great history reaction 😀👍 Remember all about this, since im a few years older than you. All the gossip, speculations, fears and like you said, all we knew came from newspapers, tv and radio. Live aid was amazing, watched the whole consert and i still got the videocasette i recorded. Yes we did that back then so we could watch it again and again. Tommy did an awsome cover of this song. 😀

Only sad part of Sabaton EU tour for me is that in my country they were sopposed to be accompanied by the Hu and Lordi and I was realy looking forward to it. Well maybe the replacemnet bands will be good surprise. And having to wait 5 more moths for the show (moved from March to August).

If you want to check out something fun with Tommy, i dont know how many know this but check out "hot beef Injection" here on youtube. Its long before his fame in sabaton, he worked at the radio station a few hundred meters from where i live. Super chill dude. =) They did a few songs just for fun. Its easy to se even there that he had alot of talent.

The old tale of when Freddie came to the studio to record this, he is handed the lyrics to the song, he points to the sheet and asks, "this?".. "you expect me to sing this?" Yes... thats the song.. he slams a double shot of vodka... nods his head... and proceeds to nail the song in one take

You so funny 🤣🤣 Amazing song from Tommy. I not look if you react on hes cover of "Shes gone" with Talisman? If you want to see him with wonderful guitarsolo. Look at last solo of he do " Empty rooms" with Gary Moore. So much feeling. He actually have better solo than Gary Moore and you can hear that he listning a lot of him.

Disagree :) This was much more interesting and happier than the original. Yup im old and the original was quite sad and boring in my ears in those days anyway ;). How can the show go on if it don't get better ;) it's kind of the purpose of the song as i see it :)
