I was born in 1964, and being autistic and people pretending to be my friend

I can relate to it for essentially the same reasons.
As someone on the spectrum and a musician, I have been criticized by (usually White) club owners for not having a "Poo-Munching Grin on my face on stage the way the members of The Lawrence Welk Show did.
One time I learned that I scared the patrons of (again) a club with a predominantly White audience.
Ás someone of mostly European Ancestry, I didn't have this problem in clubs with predominantly Black older audiences.
I went to a Trade School that mainly accepted disabled people. One of the instructors was a Born-Again Christian who was always smiling (even when he said something condescending) he kind of reminded me of Dana Carvey's Church Lady from SNL).
He had the Poo-Munching Grin and a pronounced Furrowed Brow which seemed to indicate Anger and/or Sadness, and of course he was always doing sales pitches for his church.
