I really wish you sold apparel that’s more practical. For example, I don’t need crew socks but I would absolutely buy several pairs of knee high socks for under knee guards. Or jerseys In addition to T-shirts. Also kids apparel. Got to buy new kids gear every year regardless, so if you had it I would be buying it from you and getting my raffle entry every year.
@@jasminebebe3455 motor yes, suspension no. If Yamaha made an updated two banger with KYB is would be king. KTM bikes getting cheaper and cheaper made every year sadly.
Hey Kyle, how about a comparison video of all the 250 4-strokes you have ridden in the last few years. Kawi, Yamaha, Honda, and any others? Thanks for what you do, I enjoy the channel.
Being a lover of the kdx, I thought kawasaki was going to kill it but when I read about the 5 speed, I knew it wasn't going to be worth purchasing. The air filter is also a disaster.
Just sold my FX for a KX. Ive found FOR ME I have no use for a WR style gearing and arguably the wide ratio may be holding me back compared to regular close ratio MX gearing
Too bad whenever he does the polls people keep picking bikes that already have a million other reviews out there instead of the obscure bikes (other than this kx250x good to see that got through)
I found the honda freakishly wide at the tank, which disappointed me because I really wanted to love it. The fx and xc seemed very slim. Got the fx. Best bike I've ever had. That includes Kim's I've had.
I've been a huge Yamaha fan my whole life. YFZ450, YZ250F, Grizzly 700, etc. All have been fantastic products with hard use. My buddy has ridden kawasaki for years and while they typically perform great they aren't as consistent quality wise as Yamaha
@@moto_tech_braap_itout9852 when I can ride/beat on all of my yamahas for years with no problems and my polaris/canam friends cant...that's my anecdotal opinion
Dude I have the 21 kx250x and shoot I have to agree the air box design is so bad, I thought I was just bad with the technique but it’s just a bad design
Can I say neither? I wouldn’t want either bike. There are WAY better bikes available on the market. - says the guy who watches every DBC video like crack head.
Hey Kyle, Brother, you certainly earned my subscription. This was a great comparison and I am now leaning toward the Yamaha, to do further research. Your expertise is much appreciated and valued! Thank you, so much!
I like the 5 speed and slimmer design of the kx250x for motocross. And the kx250x does better on the track then the kx250 does in the woods... Hey does the yz250x two stroke have a 6 speed yet?
Great review! You can tell both bikes are stupid good at this point, you barley had any complaints! I haven't ridden the yamaha (an old YZ250f (not FX) from around 2010) and it was dead slow and a really weird bike which i don't really think matches this bike. My brother got an KX250X 2018 and it's amazing! I always had bad experience with 4 stroke. I ridden my ktm 125 exc for like 10 years now! AND now i feel i reached the bikes limit. Amazing potential in those bikes! Holy shit. But like i said, my brothers Kawasaki blew me away. Even though I'm consider myself fairly fast on that 125 and very comfortable. That kawa 250 is literally a cheater bike. I'm just so much faster on it! Coming out of a corner is ridiculous i can just keep it in 3 or 4 gear just fly away at the exit corner!
Thank you for this video I was really curious what you would have to say on this topic thank you for your honesty as always you nailed it thanks Kyle now send me that 125 KTM my daughter needs it bad God bless you
I have never ridden either bike, however because my favorite color is blue and I think the YZ looks better... I have this bias where I imagine the KX is slow and sucks. Funny little bit of introspection.
The items you cited are all huge dollar items or things you as an owner could not feasibly change like the 6 speed transmission. Little things are easy to fix aftermarket.
Kawasaki best bang for your buck. If moto isn’t your only expensive hobby its the smart choice. Yamaha has a slight edge in a couple categories but costs much more
Well said, based on your footage and how much fun you had on the yamaha it was the better bike. I've owned 2006 Kawasaki kx250f and airbox has always been a hassle.
I have been on both bikes. They are great! However you failed to leave out the buttery clutch on the KX. Great job you do on the dirt bike channel. Keep up the great work.
Looking to get a dirtbike again, im very experienced on anything but a dirt bike, only owned one honda xr 200 when i was way younger. im 6’3 so i want something tall but i want a 4 stroke higher than 200cc and not above 250cc to get back into it, what brand should i buy used? Thanks!
Could you do a comparison video/ podcast about the 300rr vs 200rr? I'd like to get a race edition in the future, but am torn between these 2 models. I mainly trail ride, ride technical terrain, 70% off-road. Would want to compete in the odd rally/ enduro a few times a year for fun. Female rider, 130lbs, 5 foot 7 tall. I am coming off a 2019 150 xc-w, which I have enjoyed, especially how light it is, but now want something with more torque. Thanks
I know I'm late to the party on this one but in my opinion, the transmission alone is the make or break between these two bikes, depending on what type of writing you're going to do I don't understand why manufacturers like Kawasaki are making these hard Enduro/fast trail, riding bikes, and not putting a wide speed transmission in them and lowering the first gear and raising the last It's just a better fit for the type of riding people are buying these bikes for
I really like the clutch on a Kawasaki although I’ve never ridden a Yamaha Hydro Kawasaki because I never write a Yamaha and I really like the clutch on the Kawasaki
I keep watching your channel because of you honest opinion. Even if I disagree with your opinion for whatever reason that fact that I believe it’s truly what you think means a lot. Even though you picked the Yamaha over the Kawi, this takes the doubt out of my mind about the Kawi that is it a good bike but there are things that makes the Yamaha a little better.
I am glad Kyle did this review because my experience with both these brands would have led to me bashing the KX into oblivion. Do NOT read the following rant: Durability and quality is important to a lot of guys and there is a big gap between these brands. Kawi made two or three generations of bikes that had the least reliability (tied with suzuki for last place) of the big five manufacturers. heads regularly failed, Cases were softer material, and this went on for 7 or 8 years. How can that be overlooked, even if they have gotten better? You had to be careful when you tightened the any screws on the case covers so that they did not strip the threads in the case! Yamaha has never had those kinds of issues. As for quality; fit and finish of castings, welds, and forgings is worlds apart from KTM and not as good as YZ either. Those things are definitive indicators of quality. YZ four strokes have been known to go ridiculous hours and endure tons of abuse and lack of maintenance. Yep, I would have told you all that the only difference between a steamy turd and the KX is nice set of wheels!! LOL
When was that? The 80's and 90's? Suzuki, Kawi, and Honda all are far superior to Yamaha as far as reliability. Have been for years in the bike/sport ATV lineup. I've owned a lot of both, so that's an unbiased review.
Yeah, but what about maintenance interval frequency and cost to own? Which one will do less damage to the wallet for those of us that have a professional do most of the wrenching and repairs?
