I've been tempted in the Crit Ops Missions to try having 3 pieces of scatter terrain that each player can place to add some asymmetry. Or just pick some and mirror their placement if you want to keep it symmetrical.
Mysterious Signature is just poorly designed. It also punishes the first player to try and pick up an objective by making it easier for their opponent if they fail the first roll.

It's an option but that's too much work for TOs and players considering ITD already has a huge setup time problem already
Yep. Maybe symmetrical then on some of the sparse maps. That could be done pregame.
I'm satisfied with the space hulk season so far. I hope season 3 will bring us a catachan killzone.
