In 1976 these guys were way ahead of their time.
You mean Tom Scholz was ahead of his time.
The 70s bands are mind blowing.
BEING THERE WAS AMAZING it was a 4 band lineup closing with Boston . It even had a Thunderstorm in the middle of it with Utopia performing Then the sun came out as the Outlaws took the stage. I took my little brother with one of his friends My brother never forgot that and the Elton John concert I took him to at MSG. He thanked me for taking him to those concerts not long before he passed away from cancer 2 months ago he was 56. I miss you Brian
Hell yeah man, you go to be part of the scene back in the day! I lived in flyover country and missed Boston play live. Plus I think I was like 12 when the record came out. Juuuuuust getting to the shows. Journey was my first going "alone" show and I caught Foghat, UFO, Ozzy, Judas, AC/DC VH, but this band was the soundtrack of my fifth grade life. Which was everything the time. No one had heard tone like Scholz's with that MIT noggin he was really ahead of his time. I gotta admit though they seem to shine in the studio.....I dunno about this live take. Poor singer. He left by his own hand. A Shame. Sorry to hear about your brother. family really is everything.
good bro you are!
😥😥
I'm very sorry for your loss
😢
A great song from Boston that hasn't been grossly overplayed.
I grossly over played in high school back in the 80s.🤣👍👊
@@stevebrewer8530 I have been grossly over playing all my life
One of the best riffs in rock n roll history. Love this song!
Surely one of the greatest rock bands of the 70s. Brings me to tears.
I know what you mean. Thinking about those days brings chills to me. I read you on FM Steve.
I was only 13 years old in 1979. I remember Boston then, but didn't become a big fan for 3 more years.
Right on brother. Tear up every time I hear this incredible song.
DITTO!
Same here.
Tommy Scholtz... The master. RiP to one of my favorite voices in hard rock Mr Brad Delp.
He was as great a person as a singer.
Scholz not Scholtz
Scholz
@@jimmyroberts1198 yeah
Loving the board mix on this! Totally dry, we're hearing Brad's voice the way the mic picked it up, the way he would sound if he were standing next to you in a room. Just amazing.
This was the predecessor of all the great 80’s rock
Well said, and so true!!
Watching these older Boston videos, I appreciate more & more what a great bass player Fran Sheehan was, and he is so into it adding lots of stage presence.
HeRacesTheSun AGREED, he has a Geddy Lee vibe for sure!
That friggin bass player is rockin it!
Fran Sheehan should have been in Spinal Tap. LOL
I kept thinking he must be on something.
I really dont like is dancing
Sheehan .... the original RLS (Restless Leg Syndrome)bass player 🤣
@@quantitativeease Black beauties usually.
That was flat out killer. Twin lead action that was totally perfect, and the bass lines, wow. Great live band!
Absolute profound beauty for those with hungry and appreciative musical souls. This team's vocal and instrumental harmonies, deep-felt artistic creativity are seemingly simple, yet very painstakingly collaborative, humbly unselfish, and patiently intricate. Most Boston songs are rare, priceless, timeless works of art that have eternal souls.
You speak from your heart...beautifully expressed 💛😊
Simply a band decades ahead of its time
I got crazy goosebumps at 3:10. Boston was amazing. My favorite rock and roll band and there isnt any competition
I always loved clapping to this chorus line 😊
The bass player always looks like he's tripping on acid big-time but he rocks it out all sweating and moving to the beat, love this guy
Fran Sheehan was a beast bassist.
Yeah. Fran never did drugs. He was just into it. We're friends.
Brad Delp, Steve Howe, Steve Perry, Lou Gramm.
I am truly blessed to have seen the best.
Brad Delp the best of all!
"Come on let us give your mind a ride" . . . I took that invitation many many times .
One of the greatest bands of all time!!!!
Tom Sholz wearing such a big grin. Times were good in '79. Everybody having fun. Big stadium shows were a blast. Can't find that feeling anymore. I'd love to see Outlaws footage from this show.
I was at this show. The classic Boston lineup, with Brad, Sib on drums, Barry G on guitar, Fran Sheehan on bass and, of course, Sholz on everything. They headlined, with Todd Rundgren's Utopia and The Outlaws supporting. It rained like hell during The Outlaws' set, but the sun came out during Green Grass and High Tides. Great, great show.
I was at this concert too -- the Outlaws were outstanding. First concert I ever attended. Boston was great here, but I remember everyone being exhausted from the heat by the time they came on.
That's cool. My dad was also at this show. We still have the ticket from it.
Joe McGavin i am jealous. Bet it was as great as it looks.
They headlined that early in the day?
What is up with all the empty seats?
Damn what a singer he was!!!!
Barry Goudreau is such an incredible guitarist and his backup vocals were the closest in all the lineups to the original albums.
What a beautiful voice, Brad Delp. Tom Scholz grat guitars. Never will find a band like Boston
Barry was an awesome part of the band. His vocals were very good and playing awesome.
Still great in 2019!
They were so great that an entire city was named after them. I mean, they were that awesome.
the harmonies are epic.
I WOULD HAVE LOVED TO HAVE BEEN AT THAT SHOW.
Leon Taylor I was at the Fenway show, for that tour, with my aunt...I was only 11!
Me too Leon! I was 13 and could have gone, just didn't have the $$$ to go.
My girlfriend wouldn't let me :(
I absolutely love this song ❤️
Great crank-up-the-volume tune. :)
Put your hands together
Oh yeah great memories...what a band and Brad Delp what a voice!
The greatest band in the years 76/79, first two albums.
Man! They had such an awesome harmony!!!!
I grew up listening to Boston. on 8 tract tapes and LP's. Black lights. Good times.
Don't forget the Posters, and strobe lights.
Rim Shot I do recall strobe lights come to think of it. Posters of KISS only in their room. Scared me when I had to make their beds in the basement. Incense and funny smelling cigarettes :)
Me too lol
Saw this tour when it hit the Miami Baseball Stadium in ‘79. Brutally hot sunny day in Overtown. It took forever for Poco to open. Not sure why. Crowd was pretty toasted and liquored up by then and someone smashed the Poco guitarist with a bottle. Poco flipped off the crowd and walked off the stage not even halfway through their set. Everyone calmed down for The Doobie Bros who were next. Pat Travers, a Miami native at the time, came out and jammed with them. Boston hit the stage at dusk and rocked it. Good times.
I'm a drummer & appreciate the drum track ... very nice song!! I love playing along this one, it's a fun one!
Yo!!!,that Riff OMG, gives me the chills every time., i just rewind it back over and over.
Still have this album 40 years later
Got to see this show went with 2 friends had the shitty seats way up top, The line up was Todd Rundgren and Utopia, Poco, and the Outlaws. It was called the Festival at the Meadowlands. So this is how it went down the day started out cloudy with rain coming down by the end of Pocos set then full on downpour during the Outlaws. Took a break while setting up Boston by the time they hit the stage and opened with more than a feeling the Sun came out, best part was lots of people left which aloud us to move to Great seats. I have been to hundreds of shows in my life and this one I will remember forever. I thank whoever has this footage of one of the most Iconic Rock bands ever ( still not in R&R hall.. Bullshit), you all should show your children what musical talent is right here.
That’s an awesome story, I live in the past with this 70’s music, the best times and music ever. I play it all the time in my house my 23 yr old daughter knows it well, I really want to keep it alive. Cheers to Boston and the great 70’s and 80’s.
The band that drove a stake through the heart 💖 of Disco
I love Brad's voice 👏
Great Song, Great lyrics! ..when you let go..take a chance on Feeling' Satisfied!
I have ever heard a more beautiful voice than Brad Delp.
Thank you so much for sharing this as I felt like I was there ! Boston is one of the Greatest 70'S Rock bands , I love it !
Living only about 15 minutes away from the Meadowlands I would loved to have been at this concert even though I was only 9. They had a completely different and incredibly awesome rock sound. No band has sounded like them since. What a gift Tom Scholz was given at birth to have been able to give us this great music and the band is flawless live. Long live Boston. RiP Brad and Sib.
One of the most bad-ass bass players ever created.
can still remember watching them live on this tour ,absolute magic
Sorry can,t remember but it was afew years back, big boston too ,but since brad died i feel they just let tbe band end
Boston actually did headline this gig, but it was a festival, called "Music In The Meadowlands". Todd Rundgren, Poco, Outlaws and Utopia played before them. 55,000 in attendance
Boston is still great. Check them out next time they tour. You will be surprised.
“You got to have a little rock and roll music to getcha through the stormy weather” yessirrr 💯
Back when it was about the heart and love for music and not fame and money
You are right. Can you believe people actually listen to RAP? hahahaha incredible.
+Leon Taylor LOL! We need to be best friends. I love your comment on people listening to rap.. Like, is rap even music? 😂
Jackie Vee Nope... rap is not music IMO. Rap uses prerecorded backing tracks instead of live musicians most of the time. This Boston video shows how GREAT Rock & Roll music can be with a T shirt, jeans, and a guitar!
Will Rap ever become secondary maisteamwise like rock did?
Absolutely right sir...
It was about the heart, the fun and just getting messed with favorite girl or all your buddies!!!!... A time from the past. Man... Have things changed. But never forget your memories... And let them give your mind a ride !!!!!
My First Rock Concert Bostonwith the Original Lineup in 1976! My Fave to this Day! Miss You Brad Delp and Sib Hashian! Wish We were still in the 70's! \m/\m/
Pure ear candy to a teenage boy in the 70s and still today now that boy is 60 years young.
FRAN SHEEHAN ! Underrated bass genius. Plus the stage moves, plus the head banging before they gave it a name. To play those parts live, and add this level of flair, and be the dynamo onstage, it took a great bass player to do all that. Kudos, Fran, 70s classic rock bass ICON.
RIP Brad! We all miss you Brother!
Thank God for the good days an classic rock
Wish I was there at that time... I was a kid livin' in the Netherlands :(
Awesome show!
I saw boston back in the day. They are my favorite band!
Happy Birthday today(March 26) to Fran Sheehan. Cheers!
Masterpiece fellas.. long live Boston
Had a few beers and BOSTON is awesome. Unfortunately to young to see them in the early days.
I Like Brads singing as always
don barlow r.i.p brad.
The perfect job on bass guitar from Fran. Spotless. And those wondering. He was not on drugs. He loved the music and reaply got into it.
I saw their first tour Feb '77... Brad's voice was strong! They played a song called American Politician... Said it would be on the second album.... But ney! Would like to hear that again.
Brad Delp, what a loss :(
g I jr
I love Tom scholz

dkshotwell.
Yes tragic :(
😢
Sound is one of kind ya.
What a performance
Espectacular !!! Maravillosa voz de Mr. Delp
My favorite song by them.
What a band ♥️
Love seeing vids of the original band members & that awesome Boston 🎸 guitar sound. Feel good rock @ it's best..
1970's. Super group!
Awesome song feeling satisfied Boston live
This is love...
They ALL sounded EXCELLENT Here
Great band, always loved their stuff, Scholz always experimenting..but their bread and butter was in the studio where Delps voice really shines. A lot of mixes that you just don't get when you hear them live..
Perfect rock band Brad's voice tom Sholtz best band ever my opinion
So glad I got to see my favorite group of all time late 80"s in Mpls - !st two are Masterpieces!
That must have been great! Before my time, but I've been loving Boston since I was age 7!!! They were not prolific, but everything they did was perfection.
You're truly kicking ass when you can get New Yorkers to cheer for Boston at Giants stadium!
to ruderocker my brother I speak of was your age I saw one of his friends last week who I also took to this concert and he said ,It was his first and BEST concert he was ever at and still talks about it He's now turning 58. I'm 65 years old.
3rd stage 1986 great album
It was probably their 2nd best after Walk On.
My favorite song and the title is just right...yours very truly Alfonso Cantu USMC
Miss the 70's.
Good band great rock and roll
Orale!!viva los 70s yeah!!!!!!!!
I can't believe I'm the first comment.such a great song
OH, HELL YEAH!
Love that ripping guitar sound.
Credit to Barry for doing the high backups live.
wonder why they did the intro for "Something About You" and then went into Feelin' Satisfied?
I was wondering the same friend?
Pretty clever, actually!
And the ending sounded like it was from "Peace Of Mind."
Happy Birthday today(March 10) to Tom Scholz. Cheers!
🤘🏾🤘🏾🤘🏾

Wow
Brad Delp was Boston!
He was great but they are still awesome, check them out next time.
No, Tom Scholze was Boston
Band is best as a studio effort. Tom Scholtz is a genius. Have all their lps on vinyl.
東京 japan t ♥ i love Boston sound
RIP Brad
Amen to that, he was awesome, never be another Boston without his voice, he is Boston, hey see the drummer in the background, that's the Rock's father in law lol Rock on brother I love this band
There was nothing like the unique Originals then. Now while many can play, no one will match Delps lead Vocals ! The live sounds are not like the Studio sound which made them great !
True for "Boston." Come up to 2017. Search " Lexington Lab Band Boston." They cover 5 retro tracks in their original scores. A phenomenal playlist of 5 songs. A Must hear for Boston fans!
Hey thank you for posting. I hadn't heard of these guys. They totally rocked this song, which is my fav Boston song.
I can't see why Brad thought he was a lonely soul with millions of people who loved his singing .
Even people like Robin Williams go through this too. Money and Fame cannot hide sadness.
@@jimmyroberts1198 Robin was Brad’s favorite actor.
@@CatholicTraditional Double sad 😔.
Brad why why nooooo cant believe yet
RIP Brad .......
RIP Brad delp 😟😟
Wish we had anexcellently engineered mix of this.
Miss you Brad,still
