🧡💛💚💙💜
Thank you Shawn love watching you ❤
That's beautiful Shawn, as are your words of inspiration. So true. Thank you. I also love the Show Up poster in your studio. I think of it daily and remind myself to show up. Xxx
Thank you, thanks for being here and that show up poster is a free download in the shop, just FYI :)
Dear Shawn, it is breathtaking 😍😍😍 I love it soooooo much ❤
Thank you Elvira! have a wonderful week 💚💜❤
My imposter syndrome kicks in continually. "Be afraid and brave" should be my new mantra.
I have been stagnant and spinning my wheels for a few years now, and it's a result of Covid and then situational depression, but stems from my imposter syndrome that I've had for 20 years. I take half baby steps sometimes , and I do try the "brave and afraid philosophy", but not often enough. Its good to hear someone say it out loud. Thank you for your positive (and afraid) kind words. I will take them to ♥ heart!
Sandi, BC Canada
Sandi, we're all brave and afraid, some are just better at working through it (or hiding it..lol) I think we all feel with imposter syndrome and the act of copy and creation is how we grow. We are all just learning as we go and learning to let go of perfection! Creating is the best things to battle depression, just make a mess! It will feel soooo good! YOU are loved.... Hugs!
I love watching your process! 👏🏼
Hi Shawn, brave and afraid sounds a good remedy to face life's challenges even in our art work. I loved your explanation re layering papers etc. it all makes sense. Love the outcome of your finished piece. Just to say that"you are loved"..also. Sending much gratitude your away across the pond from England. 🙂🙂❤💙💜💚👍👍👍
Thank you andrea and I'm glad this spoke to you! Have a wonderful week Hugs!
Fabulous!
Hello ❤Love. I’m so motivated & inspired by you. 😂 No it does not sound crazy. I’m so looking forward to seeing everything you have for all of us. Thank you. God bless you ❤😂🎉
Love, love, love it! And working with both hands! You go girl.
I always know when I'm lost in the process when I work with both hands. No thinking just flowing!! Thanks for being here!
Love as always!! 👏🏻🥰
You are so inspirational. Love your videos. Thank you for sharing your talent with us!
Thank you so much! so glad I can inspire!
The leaves and the drips were where it started appealing to me. They created cohesion. I love the turquoise too!
It was for me too. and soon as I got the green in and then when the drips flowed I fell in love! Thanks for being here!
Прекрасно ❤❤❤❤
That turned out amazing Shawn! \o/
BEAUTIFUL!!
🧡💛💜
There is no "trying". You either do it or you don't. And You do it!
💓💓💓
Beautiful! Love that you kept putting down layers then covering them up. That is definitely being ‘brave.’ I still am working on doing that. Thank you 🙏
Wonderful!! I really like the texture that the cut gift card added with the paint. Proof that you don't always have to have all the cool expensive tools! Also, love all the soothing inspiring music you back your videos to.
Some of my favorite tools are things that aren't meant for what I use them for! Thanks for being here Laurie!
I love this and will be trying something similar today!!Thank you for always inspiring me! And, you are loved!!!🥰 31:32
Gerogia, have fun creating all those layers!!
Shawn - thank you for making my Sundays every week! I first saw your work on Wanderlust and have since started watching your videos on you tube. I love your generosity in sharing your artistic processes and your work is exquisite! Today your message of daring greatly has been particularly inspirational. Again, thank you!
I look forward to your videos and this one is especially beautiful and inspiring. I love the flowers and how the leaves drip, the papers poking out from underneath, and the colors, oh the colors. I also always appreciate, and often even need, your wisdom. Thank you for sharing you with us, with me.
Thanks Mary, I'm so glad it inspires you! my favorite things was when the leaves dripped too! Have a great week and thanks for being here!
Absolutely gorgeous Shawn ! I am inspired by you too ! ! Thank you for sharing your talent - and - your wonderful message .
Thank you so much, thank for being her!
Maravilhosa. Sigo seu trabalho e seu encantamento com o melhor de nos mesmo. Voce muda o mundo. Obrigada por compartilhar
I love this Shawn and the process was lovely to watch. Thank you ❤
Thank you Vicki, so glad you're here!
So beautiful Shawn! The flowers and then the leaves dripping down... 😍 SO beautiful! Watching you work this piece today made me completely break down and cry. It made me realize how much I am missing my painting. I had 2 surgeries in May and am still unable to use my arms. And then next week we're about to travel across the country (Florida to California) in our RV and the anticipation of that has got me completely anxiety ridden. I know many people will think it's absolutely ridiculous, but I'm like you... total homebody and very happy in my routine. Everything outside of that routine causes me anxiety. My art helps calm me. So without the art on this upcoming adventure I feel like I'm going to lose my sh*t. Oh boy... anyway... thanks for inspiring on so many levels. I'm trying to be brave through the fear. This came to me at the perfect time for multiple reasons. Thank you my friend! ❤
Oh my goodness Debra, take care of yourself, and I think I might feel like you too if I couldn't create. But small steps, just a few lines is a start. I will say a prayer for your recovery and travels. Hugs!
@@ShawnPetite thank you Shawn! 🙏
Wow Shawn, that is just gorgeous! The still shots at the end show how so vibrant and beautiful the piece is and you are such an inspiration! You are definitely moving forward in your creative journey and I love it for you!
BTW this has been a horrible allergy season, the smoke from the wildfires here in Canada are not helping at all!😷💕🇨🇦
Thank you Cindy, we are under an air advisory because of the canada fires. A couple of days you couldn't see across the street.
@@ShawnPetite I’m afraid this is climate change happening, the snowpack was very thin this past winter and in the forests, there has not been enough rain to compensate so they are too dry. Lightening has started most of them and then they hop and start more, even though they aren’t near many urban areas, it is tragic! Unfortunately, the jet stream takes the smoke where it will, it has reached the UK and even Portugal. So sorry!😷
I love the idea of using images of my own paintings in collage. Great inspiration, Shawn. And love the piece you created: a testament of your hard work these last few months, finding a new way to walk through the world. Basic question: You don't wear gloves when you paint. How do you clean your hands?
Hi Samantha, Thank you and so glad you're here! I use dawn dish soap and a scrub daddy. I have a video on my Instagram @artgirl38 showing how I wash my hands cause I get this question a lot! 😋
I'm assuming there were a lot of waiting to dry periods during this piece? It doesn't really show that in the video but I can't imagine it working unless the layers were each bone dry? How long did it really take you to do this piece Shawn. It's lovely. I tried to follow but wasn't patient enough to let all the layers dry properly. :(
I use a heat tool to dry all my layers always .. it took me 2 hours
Thanks 😊
First time I've been to this channel and the beginning is nothing but 22 minutes of talking........
