Its so stupid how he gets angry for the littliest things you do, when he was the one speaking with clementime the whole entire time and not even going in to even help them. Screw that guy
@@how8955 Personally I think he's more projecting a lot of his own faults as a father onto Lee. Losing his son , wife and daughter...that broke him and he's taking it out on Lee. Not fair definitely...but understandable if nothing else.
You know the only reason why the Stranger blames us in the first place is because he wasn't there, he's never had to make the hard decisions like Lee did

@@salvadorlucero1034 honestly he was so crazy he did not even realize how flawed his plan was even if he some how got out Savannah with Clementine then what its highly unlikely Clementine just going to go with the stranger willingly its likely Clem will just run from this guy the min she can and what if other survivors come across them what happens if Clem decides to rad him out and tell these people hes crazy and if hes still caring the bag with his wife's head that will prove hes crazy to any survivor who comes across him honestly i think he just wanted to be a father so badly again that he was going to go to any link to do it no matter how flawed his plan was and I think he would have done that to any survivors with kids he came across
@salvador Lucero the ironic thing is that he dose not even realize that he has actually become worst then the people who had robbed him cause when they took all his stuff that was cause they needed it and thought it was abandoned they where just trying to think about everyone in their group they did not know it belong to a family but when he takes Clem he’s mainly doing it just for revenge and to take out all his anger on someone who he knows did nothing to him and is just convincing himself lee a bad person so he can take out all his frustrations on him and just taking Clem so he could be a father again Probably knowing lee had no control over all the dangerous situation with Clem and if you pay attention I don’t think Clem went willingly with Him like many believe I think what happen was he tricked clem into coming outside and I think when Clem figured out what was going he grabbed her and ran off with her the reason I think that is because I don’t think Clem would leave her hat behind on purpose so when he said I’m not some villain he pretty much is with out realizing it cause he’s convinced himself Lee’s bad for Clem and he’s better for her going as far as kidnapping her
@@friedrichii.aliasdergroe9233 I kinda feel bad for Ben, even he fucked up everything but I actually feel really bad for him cause in episode 5 when Ben stood up Kenny
To be fair. The is no good or bad. One might categories Lee as phsycho. Lilly tried to look out for the group and she became paranoid because someone was stealing supplies. Even Lilly admits that she was bad for the group in the final season. No one is a hero or villain in twd universe and everyone is desperate. You help the people you care about and ignore the rest.
The thing is this "father" let his own son get lost in the woods when hunting. The stranger never saw him back. And Lee never let that happen on purphose, Clem walked away herself.
@@zaishijunior9455 Was that supposed to be clever? Literally makes no sense. I'm using the same rhetoric Lee uses to show how you missed the point entirely.
MasterMedicHQ This guy decided to take Clementine out of Lee, and kill him just because he thinks he's going to be a better father when he was the worst himself
-"You couldn't have done better" +"THAT IS EXACTLY WHAT I WOULD HAVE DONE" -"So then, tell me: Where's your son? What happened after you _abandoned_ him in the woods?" I wish we could say this to him, even though we would just get shot
So basically, the stranger is meant to be nothing more than a foil for all of your choices. Regardless of what you did or didn't do, he's there to make you feel *guilty.* In a way, that's sorta effective, because it brings all of your decisions back into your face, but on the other hand, it can also feel pretty cheap. Pretty unfair.
rhonda howard It makes Clem seem like a dick, if she manipulated the stranger by lying. She asked to go to savannah, she asked to find her parents, she understood why Lee lied about his past, yet still lied and got Lee killed. Shit now that I think about it oof.
@@Darkblitzer89 Yeah, that's basically what I said. It's especially bad with the van. Even if you didn't steal from him, he still finds a bullshit reason to get angry. Lee: I didn't steal from you. Stranger: Your *people* didn't? I'm like, "Bitch, I can't control my people! I can only control myself!"
I always wished I could have sat in the same seat as Lee and told this guy off. I did a perfect run where I made all of the correct moral choices to make sure clem was raised right and this guy has the audacity to try and make me feel guilty for letting a few people die when I had to choose between two? How many times have I put Clem's life in danger? I don't know how many times did I have to due to the fear of you taking her?
Lee as a character is for the most of the time, and choosing the "rigth ways", a very good dad, a nice enough person for one who live in such a world. And he saved a lot of people as he could, he didn't make it because he lost his cool to a man who kidnapped the most important person in his life just because he has gone crazy and he thought he could judge him for making the choices that made his people survive.
TJ Bescak People like him doesn’t deserve to be a father, and they don’t have the right to blame someone else when that person himself kidnapped clementine.
That seems too simplified. You gotta be nice to build relationships and trust with fellow survivors. That way you can all work together to better survive. Also if you got a kid, you gotta be a dad to that of or that kid dies.
I see the stranger as the people in the comments of gameplays, always complaining about the choices you made during that run, they'll always find something to complain about.
@@isaywhateveriwantandyougot7421 For me, one of the best characters in all of TellTale's Ghe Walking Dead. Leeme tell ya why. He isnt just some villain thrown to make the story more interesting, he was there all along with us since Season 2, he's was a father, he made mistakes, he isnt a perfect human being, he lost everything and saw in Clem the daughter he lost, he thought Lee was a danger because all of the things he did, but he doesn't know he did it for Clem, yeah, Lee did a lot of shitty things, not all was for Clem, but to survive and protect the group, there isnt bad people in an apocalipse, just survivors, survivors do all they can to SURVIVE.
Yeah, you're right on the point there. Course, when the question "what would you have done" shows up, you see if: 1 - they had a better choice by answering immediately & what they say is a better solution than what you chose, then again they've had time to come up with that choice, you didn't. You had to make the choice then & there (unless you pause the game, LOL) 2 - they fall silent, they haven't pictured themselves in that situation, haven't asked themselves "what would I have done", I'm sure there's a word or term for that, but I'm not smart enough to know.
But again, the group stealing the food and ruining his life is one way to lose your shit. But it doesn't make it right to kidnap a kid by munipulating her.
@@thisistiktokhellooo To be fair,it's his own fault his stuff got stolen, since the guy was so idiotic to leave the car unlocked, unguarded, with the light on and with the keys in the car. I really dunno what he was thinking, as if no one's gonna come across it and take it.
The fact that there’s no music in their conversation makes it creepy. But it’s just there to show the player that you’re having a serious conversation with another character. Nothing fancy about it. It’s telling the truth about your past to someone else. It’s straight forward, that’s why there’s no music
When he judged about saving Carley causing Doug's death, I just found a reason to kill the stranger on my own. I mean, he'll blame the players no matter who you save. I wished he knew how hard it was to do that.
You know, even from a survivor's standpoint, that "pretty girl with a gun" was a damn good shot and is something that is always needed in a zombie scenario.
Exactly. People mistake this encounter as the stranger making any actual valid points. What it is instead meant to accomplish is make the players doubt their own decisions, make people who were previously resolute in their choices wonder if maybe they did the wrong thing. What would a choice driven narrative be if it didn’t make you doubt your own rationality?
@@Deadunusedaccount No, he’ll always find something to hate you for. There are some choices he absolutely agrees with and won’t bring up; there are some choices that take priority over other ones; and he’ll never accept any of Lee’s justifications. But you have to understand: the stranger has nothing left to live for other than hate. It you tell him you’re sorry at the beginning, he’ll say: “I wish that meant something to me, Lee. I’m not a bad man, but this is all I have left.” After his wife and kids died he had absolutely no reason to keep living, but once he found Lee and Clementine: he latched onto hating Lee, even if he did nothing wrong because he needs SOME reason to keep going. He latches onto the idea of “adopting” Clementine because he needs a-well, not a replacement for his family; but someone to replace the position they held in his life. The stranger is a sad, broken man latching onto anything and everything to keep himself going. He’s insane, he’s immoral, but he was a good man once; but everything he lost twisted him into something he never imagined himself becoming. He needs to go, but I can’t help but feel bad for what the group’s done to him and his family.
@@liam6170 It's not a headcanon. That IS canon. If he only stayed with the car, or at least left it locked, then his family would still be alive. I'm sure that Lee's group could've gotten out of the jam they were in anyway.

I mean yeah, she was unstable because of her dad and stuff, but in facts, she just tried to kill the person, who she thought was the traitor of the group, and who was dangerous to them. In Doug variant she even almost done it, Ben WAS a traitor, and fucked up so many times later on. Leaving her on the side of the road is literally the same as killing her. Yes, in Carly's case, she did a terrible thing, but really? Carly was an extremely smart and sensible girl, no one else is taken as a reporter. She should have understood perfectly well, what the consequences would be if she suddenly began to humiliate a paranoid with a pistol, who experiencing a nervous breakdown, but she did it anyway. Yes, Lilly did it, but that doesn't make her some kind of monster, she did, what she thought was better for others, like Ben did with bandits.

@@thefinalsolution247I feel it's less that and more he's lost it. He thinks he can make better choices than Lee, when really that's not the case at all.
bcoz7264 Straight up. The stranger taunts Lee with all of his choices, but I’d bet anything if he were in Lee’s shoes, he would’ve folded and ran. Lee was man enough to plow through a horde to save Clementine. The Stranger would never have done better
bcoz7264 I mean, is he wrong? Who the fuck leaves all of their families food, water, and belongings out in the open when it’s everyone out for themselves? And literally leaving the keys in the car was the cherry on top. And what kind of parent would take their kids hunting, and lose them? If you’re taking your child to somewhere new, you ALWAYS stay close to them. No exceptions.
@AgentVector13 Well Lee guarded Clementine so apocalypse or not, you still gotta protect kids. Something the stranger has simply and unmistakably failed to do. 🤷
No matter what you do good, the Stranger will always criticised you no matter what. However, many of those criticism can be avoided so that the Stranger don't have a reason to criticise you for. 1) If you don't want the Stranger to criticised you for these options you've made, then DON'T: *Lie to Clementine (Episode 1) *Fail to stop Clementine from eating human meat (Episode 2) *Kill Danny St. Johns (Episode 2) *Steal the Stranger's supplies (Episode 2) *Abandon Lilly on roadside (Episode 3) *Bring Clementine to Crawford (Episode 4) 2) The Stranger also criticised you for these options you've made if you told him you never hurt anyone, so DON'T: *Help Kenny kill Larry (Episode 2) *Drop Ben in the bell tower (Episode 4) 3) If you never choose those options in 1), the Stranger will criticised you for these options by default which cannot be avoided: *Let Carley died if you save Doug (Episode 1) *Let Doug died if you save Carley (Episode 1) *Bring Clementine to St. Johns dairy farm (Episode 2) *Don't bring Clementine to Crawford (Episode 4) 4) If you never choose those choices in 2), the Stranger will remind you (as Lee) that you hurt your wife by killing her lover if you told him you never hurt anyone by default.
I love the fact that if you make what’s considered no mistakes, he just brings up everything in the past but it’s irrelevant. Makes him look like more a dickhead and just gives more reason to killing him
@FUCK YOU Honestly, when I first played this game, I only ever saved Carley because I was simping, but now I choose her because she's a sharpshooter with a pistol and never misses meaning she can actually contribute something to the group. Now don't get me wrong: I like Doug too. I think he's cool and all but really the only skill I've seen from him is being able to program a tv remote and in the zombie apocalypse, there isn't gonna be a whole lot of programming or hacking of electronics you'll be able to do. That's just my reason why I still always pick Carley.
@FUCK YOU when I first saved Carley, I did it because she had a Gun. Infact she was the only one with a weapon in the entire game until we got the Axe. (Idk why tf Glen even ran out the store with her, the fuck was he gonna do be a meat shield?) But now, I always save Carley because of how much she contributed to the group. She would always give Lee advice on what's the best course of action, she deny's the food rations (unless its the apple) saying Lee or Clem should have it instead. Convinced Lee to tell everyone about his past because "There comes a time when you can get ahead of something like this. Do it before that chance is taken away". If Carley was in the game well beyond her death she would have been an absolute game changer and Episode 5 definitely wouldn't have happened. And the Romance part was a bonus.
You know I’m disappointed in the whole series we are never given the choice to tell Kenny about the stranger being the owner of the station wagon they stole from
Spoilahs Spoilahs Spoilahs Spoilahs Fuck Kenny and fuck his chapter 2 appearance, Clem is better off without him or the "abandon everyone and take the car" team or the other person, that is always eager to piss off Kenny even at expense of everyones safety Im so glad Clementine decides to be among people her age in the last entry and not these buckets of spoiled brain matter
@@alixtennyson2007 That’s pretty much all he cares about, he couldn’t care less about anyone outside of his family and that isn’t right at all. Not to mention he can’t get over Lee siding against him in the meat locker and uses that as an excuse to insult Lee. Kenny has his good moments but half the time, he’s just selfish and pathetic.
Fr just did a playthrough for nostalgia and I decided to be an absolute asshole to everyone except Clem and I still got basically the same ending as when I played years back and took all the moral decisions.
Out of all the antagonists in twd, the stranger was probably the only one I had sympathy for. I didn’t use the term villain for a reason because unlike just about every villain in the game, he’s not a cannibal, a murderer, or power hungry, he was just a lost soul who lost his family due to unfortunate circumstances and blindly saw clementine as a way to redeem himself. Of course his motives do not justify his actions but I can understand that he meant well and was only doing what he thought was right.and in a way he is the embodiment of even the mixed people having a breaking point, especially in a world like the walking dead
He's actually worse than most antagonists in the series. The St. Johns turned to cannibalism because they felt it was necessary to survive. Carver was a tyrant because he thought it was necessary to protect his own group and maintain order. As brutal as their methods were, they were driven by a certain kind of logic. The Stranger is irrational and unable to accept responsibility for his own mistakes. He harms others with no greater long term goal than pure spitefulness and avenging his own pain. And whether he meant well or not is irrelevant. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and your actions or inactions are what define you.
Just as a note I'm like 90% if you stole the food but also brang her to Crawford he will talk about Crawford. If you brought her it overrules the station wagon choice.
Super Raul 64 1 killing Danny I could of done differently 2 didn’t save Doug It was impossible to save them both 3 stole from car That’s not the whole story Is what I got
I get the point of his character, but it pisses me off. We don't owe this guy anything. He acts all high and mighty, blaming us for what happened. Well tough luck, YOU fucked up, YOU lost your family, YOU kidnapped a little girl, YOU chopped off your wifes head and put it in a damn purse, YOU are a monster.
2:26 This is absolutely hilarious for me to hear. I save Carley in my playthroughs and he says "You let an innocent boy get pulled out of a window by those things just so you could save a pretty girl with a gun" or something like that instead. It's like he gets pissed at you no matter what you do or how nice you are to everyone. If Lee is an absolute saint through and through, the stranger only mentions like 2 things and they're hilariously trivial and he has no real reason to hate Lee. He only keeps giving him shit no matter what because the plot needs it to happen and it's so forced. So lazy. This is why I'm not really shedding any tears for Telltale being shut down tbh
And what is this scene even for? The stranger serves nothing to the plot and he butchers the conflict. But you're being too harsh on Telltale. We wouldn't have this awesome game if it weren't for him
@@isaywhateveriwantandyougot7421 Yeah...I'm realising how messed up the last part of my comment is. I still think Telltale just shouldn't had been the people to make this series. Like the writing is pretty solid (besides this forced drama with the stranger) but they just straight up lie to your face about the game being molded by the way you play. If they had just worried about the story and the characters and left the actual development to maybe some other game developers, I think it might have turned out better. You know what I really wish for now that the series is done? I wish someone would come along and reboot the entire series MW2019 style with heavy/direct inspiration from Player's Choice games like Until Dawn and Detroit: Become Human. That would be EPIC!
@@zombified_pariah7720 I have never played Until Dawn or Detroit. But yeah, I get your point. It's surprising how great the game is when you realize it was made by this mediocre studio. And besides this being possibly my favorite story in any piece of media, a video game can ALWAYS be better. There are definitely parts of this game that I hate but in the end, it doesn't even matter, the stuff that's great is unbelievable and it's a game that lasts 10 hours, there is bound to be bad stuff
In a way, the Stranger is a bit of the reflection of the "in an apocalypse, I would have done ___". He thinks he would have done better than Lee in extreme circumstances, but he simply wasn't there; starving at the motel, under siege in the pharmacy, in a group with a woman (who was mourning stressed, paranoid and frankly mentally unstable when she kills Lily/Doug). He's also the same guy who lost his son on a hunting outing and left a car of supplies unlocked and in the open.
Also I don't like this character the guy on radio that wanted to capture Clementine for no reason even if you didn't steal from him or keep people that they are the worst and he still doesn't care about Clementine he cares about himself
“You couldn’t have done better” As lee stated “You weren’t there” you don’t know how it feels to make some of those choices in certain situations especially considering this is telltale! I can’t feel guilty for certain choices WHEN i either have to make them or none of them ARE MY FAULT!
That was my thought during the whole conversion, this man couldn't protect his whole family, left a car full of supplies unattended, kidnapped a 8 year girl and somehow see himself as a better man than Lee who protected Clementine til his last breath.
@@TheWatcher328 Depends, if you actually make horrible choices such as leaving Ben behind or stealing from him, then he's completely right and has every reason to be angry at you. But the problem with this scene is how he gets mad at Lee even if you were a saint throughout the whole season and did nothing that could be considered evil. Feels pretty cheap to be blamed for nothing, bad writing from Telltale right there.
And that’s why I’m NERVOUS for Judgement Day: because I will get called my sins instead, and if they were bad and I didn’t repent, I would get burned in hell forever.
@@TheWatcher328 That’s kind of the point. The stranger isn’t mentally stable, he lost everything and now he sees Clementine as his second chance. Like Lee did. And he hates Lee no matter what because he both doesn’t have the full context and because he sees it as a way of rejecting his past self and the mistakes he made.
@@gumussevi Cool story: I found my first save file of season one and some of the data got corrupted so my last saved checkpoint was “the gauntlet”. So I reloaded the save and played through the ending of my original file with my new perspective on the story and agreed with a lot of the condemnations the stranger sent my way. Especially dropping Ben and failing to stop Clementine from eating Mark’s leg. It was an extremely unique experience; judging my past self and hating the things I’d done.
At the end of the day he thinks hearing these things from a little girl makes it sound too cruel for her to live through, without him actually living those situations, taking choices, even worse, he got attached to her, in an actually real sick way. his head was on an awfully wrong place no matter what you had done.
Actually, the first accusation where he says you brought Clem to a farm full of sick people can be avoided if you decline to go to the barn in the first place and have everyone vote to go to the barn instead. I forgot what he says if you vote not to go to the barn.
“You killed a man with a pitchfork right in front of a little girl.” “You lied to her about who you really are.” “You brought her to the most dangerous place in this city where she could’ve died!”
I never got the Carley option because I would always leave Lilly on the side of thr road. It really is sad that Lee believes that he didn't do enough to protect her and he's probably right, there was more he could've done differently....
The first time I played this game was in 2014. I remember most of my original choices on my first playthrough. - Save Shawn - Save Carley (duh) - Save Larry - Steal supplies - Leave Lilly - Save Ben - Keep the arm - Let Lee turn
I saved Duck, cut off the arm, and dropped Ben (I no longer ever do that choice. I originally made it when I thought choices actually mattered and that if I tried to help Ben up the walkers would eat me. I was ten, shut up.) Now I still save Duck, smash Larry’s head in because he was dead anyway, don’t take the supplies, keep the arm and leave Lee to turn.
I stole the food, saved carley, helped kill Larry, left lilly behind, I spared the two saint johns, I stopped Clementine from eating the meat, I saved Ben at Crawford, I took clem to crawford. I also shot molly😅
On this scene. I find it interesting, that Lee didn't tell the group everything on the reason why he kill the senator but, spills the whole tea with the stranger guy on, what really happen in his past. Since, they just met.......It's also interesting, plus funny how Lee, is more confortable with telling the stranger guy the whole truth vs telling his friends the truth. If Lee past doesn't matter, then the game for show brought it up all through the 1st season for it to be.
It's understanble for a lot of reasons First, this guy is an obvious paralel for Lee, he tells him it cause he feels like he'd understand His life may depend on it aswell
I like to interpret Lee’s sudden openness on what happened with his wife as a way of expressing his own reflectiveness. He’s thinking back on his life and on his decisions, wondering if he could have done more or done things better.
In fairness, the dude is dying so he doesn't have anything to lose anymore, regardless of whether or not he told him the full truth, it wouldn't effect him, because he's going to die.
Such an unfair unreasonable psychotic bastard that campman was. Blaming him for the death of one or the other, and not understanding that he saved her regardless of how many times he saved her. Worst of all calling him a thief even if he didn’t steal from him which he tells him.
Instead of seeking for revenge and bringing so much pain to Lee's group and himself, he could have tried a more friendly approach, idk like all this speech of his could have been made anywhere anytime face to face since he stalked them. There by making us feel more or less guilty (most of his accusations are still dumb), the group could have helped him, tried to atone themself to him but no, he KIDnapped a lil' girl by lying to her about her parents. Some may feel pity or guilt but I feel nothing else than disgust toward this guy.
I think that's the tragedy of his character. While I pity him... I pity him in the way I think of him as a sad, pathetic excuse in the end. To me it's clear he just wants to project his own faults on to Lee. To do otherwise would mean he admits he's messed up in the head.
You can sort of actually. If you steal his supplies then he’ll say “do you know what you took from me?” and Lee has the option to say “Don’t you start on who took WHAT from WHO.”
Omg ty SO MUCH I needed this I was so curious and just this is exactly what I needed and now I have to subscribe to you and I was looking for this forever
No, it’s because Doug chose to protect Ben. He died out of his own free will. Whereas Carley died without making a choice to give her life for someone else, Lilly chose to directly shoot her. Lee can blame himself for Carley’s death because no one noticed what Lilly was doing, but Doug did, and he willingly gave his life for Ben. Lee couldn’t have stopped that.
Kind of a bummer to see there's an option for Carley but not Doug, i mean yeah, i know Lee and Carley had feelings for each other, but if you saved Doug he was still Lee's best bud and unlike Carley he purpousfully took the bullet for Ben
@@anthonyhack1164 It's a figure of speech, i meant the bullet was obviously meant for Ben in Doug's case. Meanwhile Lilly's shot was definitely aimed at Carley in her case.
Gosh, I can understand Stranger's feelings about Lee and company stealing his and his family's stuff but what happened before and after isn't his damn buisness. It's a world of sticks and stones now, it's about survival.
You’re missing the point, he is not only calling out Lee, he is calling out the players. Quote: “Used in the final episode of The Walking Dead depending on what choices you make. The Stranger will list various things you've done and tell you how horrible you are, such as if you save Carley over Doug (saving a pretty girl with a gun) or not letting Lilly back into the van (she was grieving, alone, etc.). Even if you did the most moral actions in the world, he'll still find faults - it's impossible to get through that game "clean".”
@@Zelink108 Seems more like he's nitpicking so he could put the guilt of his lost family off his shoulders. In my playthrough, I didn't steal and I had Clementine stay safe at the house
The stranger can't hand out judgement because he lost his own son in the woods when hunting, clem walked by herself. Despite that Lee got bitten trying to protect her.
“You didn’t care about that woman before holding her back so your friend could bash her dad’s brains in?” Well what’s it to you, pal? Larry deserved it for being a dick to Lee!
Stolen goods version is probably best and most convincing. You stole his supplies and so his family died, makes much more sense than him caring about some other crap that is not related to him in any way
To be frank, the Stranger's head in the end is NOT in a good place. He's deluded himself to think he can do better than Lee. When really, that's not the case and he's become worst than the people he hates, considering he thinks he's justified into kidnapping Clem.
He got mad at me for Killing Danny For leaving Lilly Saving Carley instead of Doug Killing Larry Stealing the food Bringing her to the Dairy I had my reasons for doing all those things. By the way if He really a good father he wouldn’t have lost him now would he
“You abandoned a defenseless, grieving women” Ni- you do know what she did right!? Like I understand lily was mad (at Kenny or both of us depending on if you smash the head or not) and maybe Carley due to what she said maybe breaking her. But come on!!
🤷 Exactly what I said to. The dude didn't know the full picture. Like the fact that the bandits were invading the motel. Or the fact that Mark has his legs chopped and served to cannibals. Or the fact Chuck died trying to protect the group. Or the fact that Duck gets bitten by a walker and is shot in the woods by Lee or Kenny.
this is my favourite part of the game, because of how quiet it is and how your sins are caught up to you, like you're in a confessional to admit your sins. never even killed the stranger myself and wanted to give him a chance because he had reason to be angry at me and wanted to do something good for clem. even though when i realized he had gone somewhat insane, i couldn't strangle him and clem kills him instead

I wish the stranger would sympathise with Lee if you've done all the good choices! Another thing that would've been cool is if you mention the bite and ask him to put you out of your misery and he would say something like: "you know? Maybe you're not so bad despite all this. I'll give you a quick and painless death." Instead of what he would usually say.
I think that's why the Stranger WORKS: he's completely delusional. He thinks by taking Clem, he's having a second chance to be a father again. How many times have I put Clem's life in danger? I don't know how many times did I have to due to the fear of you taking her?
I see what the stranger is saying but in this world you can’t be a father or a nice person you have to be a survivor

Exactly. People mistake this encounter as the stranger making any actual valid points. @FUCK YOU when I first saved Carley, I did it because she had a Gun. Infact she was the only one with a weapon in the entire game until we got the Axe. (Idk why tf Glen even ran out the store with her, the fuck was he gonna do be a meat shield?)
But now, I always save Carley because of how much she contributed to the group. She would always give Lee advice on what's the best course of action, she deny's the food rations (unless its the apple) saying Lee or Clem should have it instead. Convinced Lee to tell everyone about his past because "There comes a time when you can get ahead of something like this. Do it before that chance is taken away". This game is good in making you feel guilty about any choice you have made
Out of all the antagonists in twd, the stranger was probably the only one I had sympathy for.

What were those 2 really stupid and trivial things?
Wow. Telltale created so many masterpieces and you didn't "shed any tears" for them? Thanks god they're back now.
Carly you mean not lily lily kills Carly or Doug
Also I don't like this character the guy on radio that wanted to capture Clementine for no reason even if you didn't steal from him or keep people that they are the worst and he still doesn't care about Clementine he cares about himself
This guy is not happy with anything you say 😂
Lol. He is like twitter princess. Never could be satisfated.
“You couldn’t have done better”
As lee stated “You weren’t there” you don’t know how it feels to make some of those choices in certain situations especially considering this is telltale! I can’t feel guilty for certain choices WHEN i either have to make them or none of them ARE MY FAULT!
Nothing will make the stranger happy.
"I'm better father"
-He lose his son.
That was my thought during the whole conversion, this man couldn't protect his whole family, left a car full of supplies unattended, kidnapped a 8 year girl and somehow see himself as a better man than Lee who protected Clementine til his last breath.
Clem would likely run from him the min she could
I like how the stranger is like a judgment of all the sins you’ve done. All the decisions you have made and its problems result.
Right but it's all projection to mask his own failures
The Stranger is the scariest villain in s1. Imo
I second that. Even the fact that there isn't music heard gives it a much creepier vibe. 😳
At the end of the day he thinks hearing these things from a little girl makes it sound too cruel for her to live through, without him actually living those situations, taking choices, even worse, he got attached to her, in an actually real sick way. his head was on an awfully wrong place no matter what you had done.
I like how this guy is basically the *outcome* of everything that Lee did before.
*You abandoned a defenceless grieving woman!*
Only because she shot Doug/Carly. 🤦
Actually, the first accusation where he says you brought Clem to a farm full of sick people can be avoided if you decline to go to the barn in the first place and have everyone vote to go to the barn instead. I forgot what he says if you vote not to go to the barn.
Killed Danny
Didn’t reveal past
Brought her to Crawford
(I screwed up)
Mine is
Walker her into a dairy farm with full of sick people
I saved Carley and let Doug die
I stole the food supplies from him
Same lol
“You killed a man with a pitchfork right in front of a little girl.”
“You lied to her about who you really are.”
“You brought her to the most dangerous place in this city where she could’ve died!”
@@seth6972 “I would have done it differently if I could!”
“The situation was complicated”
“I Screwed up!”
I never got the Carley option because I would always leave Lilly on the side of thr road. It really is sad that Lee believes that he didn't do enough to protect her and he's probably right, there was more he could've done differently....
Uh you mean lilly right? Because Carley got killed by lilly
@@chilljojos6522 yes I am referring to Lilly, ill edit my comment
Actually, if you accuse Carley of the whole bandits thing, and save Ben from the bell tower, she comes up as an option
The stranger sounds like Vince from 400 Days, or is it the same voice actor who's voicing him?
They have the same voice actor, Anthony Lam. Good catch.
He doesn't even REMOTELY resemble Vince. Are you high?
@@Veloxization Same VA as Vince but when he spoke on the radio, it was a different VA
He also voiced Prince Lawrence in The Wolf Among Us.
The first time I played this game was in 2014. I remember most of my original choices on my first playthrough.
- Save Shawn
- Save Carley (duh)
- Save Larry
- Steal supplies
- Leave Lilly
- Save Ben
- Keep the arm
- Let Lee turn
Why let Lee turn ?
I did almost all the opposite
I saved Duck, cut off the arm, and dropped Ben (I no longer ever do that choice. I originally made it when I thought choices actually mattered and that if I tried to help Ben up the walkers would eat me. I was ten, shut up.)
Now I still save Duck, smash Larry’s head in because he was dead anyway, don’t take the supplies, keep the arm and leave Lee to turn.
You defo had a bad friendship with Kenny if you saved Shawn and Larry 😭
I can't believe the Stranger took advantage of Clem's change to reunite with her parents just to try to get revenge on Lee and his group.
the loser "NOOO YOU MADE BAD DECISIONS THAT HURT PEOPLE" vs the chad "my daughter is still alive"
Clem isn't jis daughter
I stole the food, saved carley, helped kill Larry, left lilly behind, I spared the two saint johns, I stopped Clementine from eating the meat, I saved Ben at Crawford, I took clem to crawford. I also shot molly😅
He still gets mad either way
You can shoot Molly if Clem is at Crawford?
@@anthonyhack1164 You gotta have real shit aim to do so, but yes😂
@@kensington7013You wouldn't mind showing a video would you?
“You’ve banned defenseless grieving woman.”
Oh yeah, she deserved it for killing Carley!
It's understanble for a lot of reasons
First, this guy is an obvious paralel for Lee, he tells him it cause he feels like he'd understand
His life may depend on it aswell
I like to interpret Lee’s sudden openness on what happened with his wife as a way of expressing his own reflectiveness. He’s thinking back on his life and on his decisions, wondering if he could have done more or done things better.
In fairness, the dude is dying so he doesn't have anything to lose anymore, regardless of whether or not he told him the full truth, it wouldn't effect him, because he's going to die.
this is actually really good, this mustve taken forever
Claims he would’ve done better despite losing his son
Such an unfair unreasonable psychotic bastard that campman was. Blaming him for the death of one or the other, and not understanding that he saved her regardless of how many times he saved her. Worst of all calling him a thief even if he didn’t steal from him which he tells him.
Voice actor went crazy
The Stranger is just mad with hatred, which clouds his rationality. It’s completely understandable as to why he’s delusional because of that.
"You let carley/doug die"
I actually i did saved them in another save
Killed Danny
Save Carly
Stole Food
That’s not the whole story
The stranger is such a hypocrite that it’s not even funny.
What's his problem?! He is always blaming Lee!
He’s lost his mind to the point he’s not even thinking’s rationally and is trying to justify taking Clem in his crazy head
The stranger wants to blame Lee no matter what but couldn't we say well you kidnaped a little girl.
You can sort of actually. If you steal his supplies then he’ll say “do you know what you took from me?” and Lee has the option to say “Don’t you start on who took WHAT from WHO.”
Lilly actually deserve it for killing carley you of done the same so lee did the right thing to abandoned her
Omg ty SO MUCH I needed this I was so curious and just this is exactly what I needed and now I have to subscribe to you and I was looking for this forever
It's funny how you can say it about Carley but not about Doug, that's another example to consider her the canon option
Regardless, if saving Doug is canon or not, most people will still choose Carley
@@Hewasnumber1I don't think Doug intended on dying when pushing Ben out of the way, he just happened to get shot out of misfortune.
This guy had every reason to this man 💀
Well. One words. Hypocrisy
Kind of a bummer to see there's an option for Carley but not Doug, i mean yeah, i know Lee and Carley had feelings for each other, but if you saved Doug he was still Lee's best bud and unlike Carley he purpousfully took the bullet for Ben
HELL YEAH, THERE DUDE!!!
Uhh… I don't think Doug intended on getting shot, I think he was just unlucky more than anything.
@volchara9927 I like to think it was his fault the car was left unattended an he’s just trying to justify taking Clem by any length
2:16-2:17-2:18-2:19-2:20-Lee lied Clementine about who he Killer!!!
3:21
long pen it's funny cuz this is coming from the guy that let his whole family get killed lol
“You didn’t care about that woman before holding her back so your friend could bash her dad’s brains in?”
Well what’s it to you, pal? Larry deserved it for being a dick to Lee!
Stolen goods version is probably best and most convincing. You stole his supplies and so his family died, makes much more sense than him caring about some other crap that is not related to him in any way
To be frank, the Stranger's head in the end is NOT in a good place. He's deluded himself to think he can do better than Lee.
When really, that's not the case and he's become worst than the people he hates, considering he thinks he's justified into kidnapping Clem.
He got mad at me for
Killing Danny
For leaving Lilly
Saving Carley instead of Doug
Killing Larry
Stealing the food
Bringing her to the Dairy
I had my reasons for doing all those things. By the way if He really a good father he wouldn’t have lost him now would he
He’s insane!
The guy was mad at me just for Lily. Why do I feel like I fucked up that much ?
“You abandoned a defenseless, grieving women”
Ni- you do know what she did right!? Like I understand lily was mad (at Kenny or both of us depending on if you smash the head or not) and maybe Carley due to what she said maybe breaking her. But come on!!
🤷 Exactly what I said to. The dude didn't know the full picture. Like the fact that the bandits were invading the motel. Or the fact that Mark has his legs chopped and served to cannibals. Or the fact Chuck died trying to protect the group. Or the fact that Duck gets bitten by a walker and is shot in the woods by Lee or Kenny.
If you havent figured it out
The walkie talkie had a pair of eyes apparently and that's how kidnapper saw it all
so either way man is mad at lee😂
this is my favourite part of the game, because of how quiet it is and how your sins are caught up to you, like you're in a confessional to admit your sins. never even killed the stranger myself and wanted to give him a chance because he had reason to be angry at me and wanted to do something good for clem. even though when i realized he had gone somewhat insane, i couldn't strangle him and clem kills him instead
@Elias persson most of the things the stranger blames lee for is unfair and I don't think he had right to be angry at lee for certain actions lee could do nothing about
1st off the farm: lee he had no idea what the st john's where like until it was to late if he had known they where cannibals from the start he would have never brought clem their in the first place and the only reason we killed Danny was because he was crazy and we have no idea what he will do if we leave him alive and he killed mark and probably a lot of people
2ed off: we left lily because she killed Carly for no good reason she had no proof it was Carly and it wasn't Carly at all if we did bring lily she would just steal the rv and leave the others for dead and who knows what she would do if she did not steal the rv and blaming lee for saving Carly we where put in a tuff choice to make lee could only save one and the stranger was not their he had no idea what the situation was like lee was force to make a tuff decision not dose not get to judge lee for something he could do nothing about but save one and he blame lee either way no matter who he saves
3erd off bringing clem to Crawford its actually better to bring clem to Crawford then leave her at the house because if the stranger did show up at the house while everyone was at Crawford clem would have just left with him and Omid would not be able to do anything about it and clem would still believe the stranger has her parents' so its better to bring her to make sure nothing can happen to her while she's with you and with armed people and lee had no idea why the stranger want clem in the first place and when he says clem nearly died so many times with lee he would have never done better in those situations and lee did a better job taking care of clem then the stranger did of his whole family cause he lost his son in the woods some how and he left his car unintended and with the keys in the ignition for anyone to take which did happen so that's on him for why his stuff got taken from the car and i bet that's why his wife was so angry at him and left with their daughter lee is a way better caretaker then that crazy guy who knows what he would have done if he took off with clem

Whatever u well lee dose he always has a way to be mad lmao
I wish the stranger would sympathise with Lee if you've done all the good choices!
Another thing that would've been cool is if you mention the bite and ask him to put you out of your misery and he would say something like:
"you know? Maybe you're not so bad despite all this. I'll give you a quick and painless death."
Instead of what he would usually say.
I think that's why the Stranger WORKS: he's completely delusional. He thinks by taking Clem, he's having a second chance to be a father again.
But the thing the Stranger doesn't understand is that: what he is doing is insanity. He WASN'T there to experience all that. Compared to Lee, who did and is doing his best tk be a good caretaker to Clem.
THIS MOFO BLAMES LEE IN EVERYTHING LOL
More than a simply antagonist
He is judging us for all our choices
Because we are humans and we can't save everyone
Or he gets mad at you no matter what because the developers are lazy assholes.
Goddammit the stranger know everything what they do on tree months until they get to the Savanah really.
Which is concerning. How long has Clementine been talking to this guy? If it was a short time after episode 2 then it's clear the few events at the drugstore always haunted her.
The worst part about it, is that there are people like this in real life that will just complain about everything.
