    Thank you so much! I was browsing other lessons on UA-cam and not kowing quite what I needed. Your tutorial is what I need to take my singing to the next level! This is completely new to me about nasal resonance and mixing it. Now I understand why, as a soprano, I would get so tired practicing and performing mainly head singing throughout a song.Great content!!

    Thank you for this. Hopefully, I remember everything I learned and am able to apply it tonight. For me, the key to it was the narrow mouth thing. I recorded myself at your suggestion and was able to eliminate the weird vibrato AND sing more clearly. I FEEL like I'm singing weirdly but it SOUNDS normal on the recording. We'll see how it goes. Also, my voice doesn't feel tired like it usually does after practicing so much. Time to rest now. Thanks, again!

    I have to giggle...the "ugly" exercises that don't seem "right" for the sound, remind me of The Karate Kid..."wax on, wax off"...and how annoyed he was that he wasn't "learning karate"...and yet, he was! Just found you this week "by accident'>...(right) and the way you explain the different voices and demonstrate with such practical ways to actually FEEL how it should sound get me to that warmed up place where singing is effortless, but I never really knew what exactly it was that made it easier sometimes...I now understand some of the science behind that mixed sound and can get there faster and remain there much more consistently. Awesome stuff, thank you for sharing your time and talent!

    I am trying this in B for service Sunday. I know the male key is C but we are having sound/mixing/vocal issues. If I go through with it in B what do you suggest for the choruses/bridges as far as stay on the lower octave or flipping up? Its right on the edge of my voice when flipped up in B but G is too low in the lower choruses. We have tried A and it may have to be the best key so I can flip up really strong, but my sound lady says she can't mix me in on the low choruses and I am giving it my all to bring as much power as I can. Thoughts?

    • @worshipvocalist
      @worshipvocalist  4 роки тому +1

      Hey! Sorry I'm just seeing this now!! What key did you end up doing it in?? I would probably say your best bet is to put it in a key that feels the best in the HIGH octave-so A for you, and don't go down the octave at all... where there would normally be the low octave, just sing it in the higher octave, but lighter/softer if you can, so that you leave room to build for the later choruses.

    • @kinseyjohnson4341
      @kinseyjohnson4341 4 роки тому

      @@worshipvocalistits okay! We ended up doing it in B and it actually sounded good! I think I wasn't using as much my mixed resonance and power at home, relying more on my head voice, and because of that was worried it might get sharp but when I applied what you were talking about and from other videos of yours it felt good and sounded good! It enabled me to flip up the octave and get the full feel of the song 😊

      Hey! There’s not a “right/wrong” for how the exercises are used-I just use what I find is most helpful for my voice and the students I teach! For this song, the NAY helps with the start of the chorus because it rhymes with “WAY”maker, and the UH in the “MUM” sound helps us with the UH vowels in “PRUH”mise... LUHD (light)... etc. Hope that helps clarify!
