חורף שבעים ושלוש
אנחנו הילדים של חורף שנת שבעים ושלוש
חלמתם אותנו לראשונה עם שחר, בתום הקרבות
הייתם גברים עייפים שהודו למזלם הטוב
הייתן נשים צעירות מודאגות ורציתן כל כך לאהוב
וכשהריתם אותנו באהבה בחורף שבעים ושלוש
רציתם למלא בגופכם את מה שחיסרה המלחמה.
כשנולדנו היתה הארץ פצועה ועצובה
הבטתם בנו, חיבקתם אותנו, ניסיתם למצוא נחמה
כשנולדנו ברכו הזקנים בעיניים דומעות
אמרו הילדים האלה הלואי לא ילכו אל הצבא
ופניכם בתצלום הישן מוכיחות שדיברתם מכל הלב
כשהבטחתם לעשות בשבילנו הכל להפוך אויב לאוהב.

הבטחתם שלום בבית
הבטחתם אביב ופריחות
הבטחתם לקיים הבטחות
הבטחתם יונה
אנחנו הילדים של חורף שנת שבעים ושלוש
גדלנו, אנחנו עכשיו בצבא עם הנשק, קסדה על הראש
גם אנחנו יודעים לעשות אהבה, צוחקים ויודעים לבכות
גם אנחנו גברים, גם אנחנו נשים, גם אנחנו חולמים תינוקות
ולכן לא נלחץ, ולכן לא נדרוש, ולכן לא נאיים
כשהיינו קטנים אמרתם: הבטחות צריך לקיים
אם דרוש לכם כח ניתן, לא נחסוך, רק רצינו ללחוש
אנחנו הילדים של החורף ההוא שנת שבעים ושלוש

Winter seventy-three
We are the children of winter seventy - three
You first dreamed of us at dawn, at the end of the battles
You were tired men who thanked for their good fortune
You were young women worried and wanted so badly to love
And when you raised us with love in the winter of seventy-three
You wanted to fill in with your body what the war lacked.
When we were born the country was wounded and sad
You looked at us, you hugged us, you tried to find comfort
When we were born the old men blessed with teary eyes
These children said I wish they would not go to the army
And your face in the old photo proves that you spoke wholeheartedly
When you promised to do for us everything to become an enemy to a lover.

We grew up, we are now in the army with weapons, a helmet on our heads
We also know how to make love, laugh and know how to cry
We too are men, we too are women, we too dream of babies
And therefore not pressed, and therefore not required, and therefore not naive
When we were little you said: Promises have to be kept
If you need given power, we will not spare, we just wanted to whisper

This is very beautiful and very powerful dear but the only thing I don't understand is what the winter of seventy-three is about. Please forgive my ignorance. I have been going through some changes...some good and some not so good so I am coming to a crossroads and hopefully will be moving on to the next part of my journey very soon.
