What is under the saddle panels of an English saddle? Crack in a saddle tree!

This short video shows the tree of an English saddle that has a crack in the wooden tree. This crack was identified when I took the saddle to check the flocking in the saddle, and I performed a flex test on the tree and heard a creak!
Sadly, when this saddle was taken apart by the saddler Dawn for further investigation, the small crack was identified in the wooden tree. But where the crack had occurred in the tree, the metal framework had also been affected and this had a detrimental effect on this horse's back health.
