I bought a kalimba after discovering you on UA-cam last year, but my fingernails just weren't strong enough and using picks just didn't sound right. So I got a small tank drum (not as big as this one). I don't think I ever knew you also played the drum. It's lovely. I will look for more drum videos!
i always thought you just had to use your fingers to play kalimba, its a shame because i bite my nails a lot and i wanted to play it too.

@@MaryKurosawa yeah you need some nail to play the kalimba. It doesn't have to be very long. I also bite my nails but i don't bite my thumbnails because i need them to play lol.
I have just been using the pads of my fingers (you will build up calluses over time) because I play other instruments that require me to cut my nails. What are these picks that you mentioned?
