Top For value
Tribit Stormbox Blast: Pound for pound champ! Unbeatable combination of deep bass and balance imho for the money. geni.us/stormboxblast
Harman Kardon Go Plus Play 3: probably the minimum you can pay currently for a sort of hifi sound geni.us/goplay3
Special shout-out
Soundcore Motion Boom: geni.us/motionboom Amazingly deep bass to 40hz for its size and price. My last pound for pound champ before the Blast.
Mifa Wildbox A Motion Boom alternative.. Some prefer its more neutral sound (they say) .geni.us/mifawildbox
Soundcore Boom 2: decent value for fun aprty type sound that goes loud with good bass slam geni.us/soundcoreboom2
Soundcore Motion Plus Still worth a look, my original world pound for pound champ the Motion Plus can still offer great clarity. geni.us/soundcoremotionplus
£50 champion:
Soundcore Boost V2 Great bass for its size, This is classed as a compact travel speaker but for me is a best buy at around £50.
geni.us/soundcoreboost
Bogasing G4 offers more bass and loudness than the Boost but has distortion issues geni.us/bogasingg4
Good value Speakers I actually listen to:
JBL PartyBox Encore: Very small battery but VFM for a deep bass party speaker
geni.us/jblpartyboxencore
Harman Kardon Go+ Play 3: warmer, smoother and bigger sounding than the go play 2, geni.us/goplay3
Onyx Studio 5/6 These two speakers are the most deep bass heavy of the entire Onyx Studio series. geni.us/onyxstudio6
Bag of Riddim 2: Not for everyone but a lot of fun especially with some reggae music geni.us/bagofriddim
JBL Boombox 3 WiFi: Crazy price but I much prefer its balance to that of the BB3 bluetooth only edition which has a silly 700hz peak geni.us/jblboombox3
W-King X20: Goes louder with more bass than the JBL Boombox 3: geni.us/wkingx20
Minirig mk3 2.2 system: The Minirigs are as fiddly as hell to setup and the app is flakey but when you get it right and the full 2.2 system (or 4.2 with the minis) is a fantastic hifi like listen.
geni.us/minirigmk3
Audio Pro C3: Open and neutral but lacks deep bass, also has WiFi connection
.geni.us/audioproc3
Marshall Stockwell 2: balanced immersive, not loud. A go-to for me for a relaxing moderate volume listen and quite accurate with bass at 8
geni.us/stockwell2
JBL Charge 5: geni.us/jblcharge5 Definitely one of JBL’s better value speakers.
Beosound A1 1st gen: better than 2nd gen, connectivity and battery issues. Deep bass for small size. Not cheap but one of the best listens for its very small and flat size.
geni.us/a1gen1
Denon 250bt: discontinued but still a reference for size/quality ratio.
Tribit Maxsound Plus: The most neutral speaker you will find for size and price. Replaced by the elss neutral Tribit Xsound Plus 2.
geni.us/maxsoundplus
Bose Soundlink Micro Same size as the Tribit Stormbox Micro but different sound signature. Very warm sounding but falls away at loud volumes (relatively). geni.us/bosesoundlinkmicro
Tribit Stormbox Micro 2 Much cheaper than the Bose Micro option and way better value but a very different sound. More clinical (neutralish) than the Bose.
geni.us/tribitmicro2
Tribit Stormbox Pro: Recently dropped to $99 making it great value
geni.us/tribitstormboxpro
Bose Revolve+: Crazy high price of $250 normally. I can’t recommend to buy it for a single driver 360 degree speaker at that price but at around 70% volume I find it a great listen geni.us/bosesoundlinkrevolve

Alan done it again!
😁👍
Thanks Alan for the wonderful live session, detailed video as usual, it's quite interesting, entertaining, educating & much more
Pls Alan, i know you don't have much time especially for very small speakers, the newly released JBL clip 5 vs other speakers in its categories will be an interesting one, I've watched all your videos of this year's releases & comparisons, the boom 2, wking x20....& waiting for more
More power to you!
Cheers!!
tx for watching. i note all requests 👍😁
@@alanrossreviews That's quite reassuring😎
Thanks Alan!
Thanks for your hard work and good in depth review Alan. This clearly shows that you get what you pay for with budget speakers. For my ear the boost is the least offensive, the rest make my ears bleed for those boosts Hi’s
yup its all about how critical your ears are.
Yes, it holds on to bass. My issue with it is that it holds in to even more treble. 😖 I can see how it could be a good small sized inexpensive choice for high volume outside, though. Thank you for another outstanding review, Alan! 😁👍👏
yes another case of good and bad 🤷♂️😁
For what I use these smaller speakers for which is listening to podcasts, the boost is still my favorite. It’s warmer tone works best with vocals.
warmer for sure ✔
Out the soundcore motion plus and the soundcore boost which one has the better bass
Ciao Alan, quale ha piu bassi a volume basso, il soundcore boost o il g4? Grazie e complimenti 😊
Great review Alan as always! Quick question, would the U boom be more ideal for low to moderate level? I'm looking for a cleaner sound. Thanks 👍
Pretty much what its tuned for if using oluv tuning
Need a comparison with JBL flip 6 and bogasing g4
Hmmm impressive, especially bass performance at max volumes...
The distortion though doesn't come over in the clips so well, it's kinda like the m4, offers a lot for the money but at a cost in terms of cleaness.
Compare the soundcore motion 100 vs the soundcore 3
Great show again, detailed as usual in the things that matter. Rumor has it that W-KING and Anker are merging........just working on a new name 😂
oh wouldn't that be comedy hour for the masses 😁 please make this happen!
They should call it Anking then 😂
@@ypytshorts w-anking? 🤔
@@alanrossreviews that's much better ! And the logo should be of a fist ✊ lol
@@ypytshorts 😂😂
Yeah Alan, I don’t know about the 50 watt rating either. I compared it to my charge 5 & I’d say it’s every bit of 40 watts. It didn’t sound better than the charge 5, but it was every bit as loud.
the watts means little in reality, the power only drives the peaks.
@alanrossreviews in the above picture, When it says premiers in 2 hours at 11:45 AM. Is that 11:45 AM In my time or 11:45 AM. In your time?
Your time 👍
Lookin like a young axl rose in this 😎😎💥. Haha
i'll take that one 😁😁👍
Will you be dropping £399 on the Bose sound link max? Love to see that 😀
probably when out in uk
Hi Alan, i need roll back firmware for soundcore motion plus ...... how, and where dowload firmwares??? thk, from spain
you have to request it from soundcore and they will send it to your app
@@alanrossreviews My problem is I connect the tws mode to the motion plus and I can only put them about 2 meters away, otherwise the signal is cut off and the smartphone also can't get very far away, can you tell me which firmware is best?
What about a mattress review though ?
i'll sleep on it 😋
This Boagasing looks easy to o e of my owrsonalyzation proyects. Ikl try it ...
👀👀👀👀👀😋
Please help me, bogasing g4 and soundcore motion boom which is best for sound quality and deep bass
motion boom
@@alanrossreviews Thanks a bunch
For clarity and details which should i buy between flip 6 and X sound plus 2??
The flip 6 being mono means you lose details from the stereo track but the xsound plus requires custom eq because default is crazy v shaped
@@alanrossreviews X sound plus 2 with custom eq will sound balanced and cleaner than flip 6??
@@prash1246 better balanced yes but not clearer. the flip 6 has a weeter and is quite high pitched in sound, you may call it clearer.
🔥👍
👌👌
How does this compare with the Soundcore motion boom?
🤔
boom is superior
It’s considerably cheaper, I paid $51.00 for each of the 2 that I purchased after tax.
I don't know if I like the live videos😁 ..I hate waiting 😢😢.. and know I have to wait for the next video 😅
some you win some you lose 🤷♂️😂
Is it the best on the market? Maybe not, but for the money you’re spending, it’s kind of hard to go wrong.
for sure for outdoor use
Can you just tell me what you use when you listen to music?
My ears? 🤔
Hi Alan, nice informative review as always. How does the W King D320 compare to the Earfun Uboom L, Xsound Plus 2, and Soundcore Motion+ and Motion Boom? Cheers
the d320 is not in the league of them apart from the xsound, i think vocals is its best point.
I'm a simple being, I see a new Alan Ross video, I click on it and the like button.
My mum does the same thing 😁
Bach n Co are royalty free innit .

What's up Alan? I've been waiting for you to review the Bogasing G4. It's a good little speaker that packs a punch, has a good battery life, & a nice & durable rubberized build. I mentioned to you about reviewing this speaker about a week or two ago, I'm glad that you finally got to it.
I liked how the first one that I ordered sounded, so I ordered another to pair together in TWS. I haven't regretted it one bit. Would I take one of these over a JBL CHARGE 5? No, I wouldn't. At the same time for the price of $100.00 or so, I definitely take 2 of these over 1 CHARGE 5 with money to spare.
There are 3 sound modes: 3D STEREO ( blue light ) vocal. ( red light ) super bass ( green light ). I prefer the 3D STEREO mode, which offers a nice, balanced sound, without compromising mids, highs, & or bass.
no spoilers so will leave my comments till after the video 😁
@@alanrossreviews Gotch ya. You wouldn’t think that a speaker that small would put out that much bass.
LOL 5 DAYS OF WAITING CRAZY
had to finish editing 🤣
"Anker, rhymes with..." LMAO!
Too much W-King 😅
😁 i used that line before tho 😜
too many jokes to be had 😁
Is it much better than m4?
I don't have the m4 anymore, from memory its basically the m4 with more power
@@alanrossreviewsthank you
Not gonna lie, only watched this to hear you repeatedly say Bogasing. Hilarious as always, thanks for the laugh mate!
Bog asing 😝✔
MAn stop please, i found you a couple days ago, and i just can't stop watching ur reviews, Excellent format, excellent information.
Alan, i'm not an audiophile like you, i just like listen to music ocasionally and watching movies pairing the speaker to my projector, i like the stereo sound by pairing speakers in TWS mode. you have recommended me already the Stormbox blast and the stormbox pro in other videos, thing that I appreciated a lot, many thanks again. However, the cost of both articles and the extra cost of shipping to my country are very expensive due to the total weight of stormbox blast or two stormbox pro.
Having said that, i want to know, if i have a budget of 100-110 USD maximum, what pair of speakers would you recommend me, between Stormbox 2, W-king D320 and Bogaasing G4. I can afford a pair of any of them on special discount days, cause like i said saddly my budget is at maximum 110 USD and i like the TWS sound and because one is for me and the other tomy GF. And like i said before, i'm not an expert in audio or an audiophile i just enjoy good loud sound with no distorssion or minimum distorssion, specially for watching movies.
i was reading that Bogasing are make by the same Company that make W-king, and you mention something related to that in the video.
As always, thank you for your detailed and fun reviews Alan, you are the best in this out there! greetings from Bogotá-Colombia.
😁 Depends on your taste. Stormbox for a more relaxed sound, g4 for bass heavy loud sound
2:31 If anything we need MORE rambling... much much more.
more?? 😝😂
Minirig 4? 🥺🥺🥺🥺
? 🤔
@@alanrossreviews plss 😂
I don't think it counts as rambling if you stay on topic. (which you do!)
good point 😁😁
That one PR on the M4 looks way too small, considering the drivers it uses . I wouldn't be surprised if it's a source of the distortion that you were hearing at bass frequencies.
All of these small stereo BT speakers will need a bit of a boost at high frequencies, for reasons we've discussed before (power response and how uncorrelated audio signals sum), otherwise they will sound as dull as the Boost does. They all sound horrible at max volume, LOL (not surprising, because they all likely roll back any EQ at that level), so it's just a question of what level of horribleness the listener is prepared to deal with. I know the UBL's firmware rolls back the bass pretty quickly to avoid audible distortion and it could have allowed a bit more through (but not as much as the v5.0 firmware does) and still not end up with a bad-sounding speaker. Unfortunately that peak in the treble makes it unlistenable for me at 100% volume, and that's with my 59-year old years :-).
I see you use what looks like REW for your measurements. I'm think I'm going to put in a request to include uncorrelated stereo pink noise as a test signal, just for these stereo BT speakers (ok, for any system that involves the use of stereo speakers that are close together), because I think the result will provide a better indication of what their tone would really be like at lower levels where their DSP has hopefully been tuned to get the best response out of the speakers.
Well, good news - uncorrelated noise may be included as a test signal in the next version of REW :-).
i think the boost is more at the lower frequencies to be honest, at this simply dont produce bass, it has to be boosted and given the price the drivers simply cant take that boost. i always said their is a decent tuning for all to be had with the uboom but none of the firmwares for me hits it just right. its the mids where it excels but most people buying these sorts of speakers don't care about mids. yes i agree i dont like a sizzly high end, keep it smooth and play nice with my tinnitus 😜 i use rew mostly for display of results. i already test with uncorrelated stereo pink noise. Sine wave more suited to room eq but i use both, they both have pluses and minuses.
boom! good job 😁✔
Too bright for me.
Bright speakers seems to have too much representation (no matter the price).
I am disappointed as someone who like warm sound signatures 😭
yup but the boost has you covered for that.
No, this speaker won't find the way in my house. I like more bass heavy sound.
then for sure you need a bigger speaker like the motion boom
Hair, Gold and shirt...Arrrggghhhh! Where is the hairy chest??? Thank you for another great review though 🙂
hairy chest back in summer 😊 in UK we are still waiting for summer 😭
