How much weight can the generals bed rails support? And subsequently the bed subframe?
Many people are finding that when you add any weight to the generals bed rails, a gap between the tailgate and bedside will start to develop. It gets worse over time to where the tailgate will not stay latched. This requires a completely new subframe for the bed. This cost is approx $600 in new Polaris parts plus labor.
I personally have experienced this issue on a 2017 general.

I own a Commander and when it's time to change it I will get a General or RMax. The new Commanders are really narrow inside compared to the originals. Polaris should advertise how wide the General is inside the cab compared to the new Commander. Can Am advertises the new Commander as 64" wide but the cab is only 50" wide. I think a lot of current Commander owners will consider switching to the General when they see how narrow the new Commanders are inside.
