Thank you for watching Andertons TV and make sure you subscribe to the channel!
You guys should have Nathan on more often. He's highly entertaining and I'm not a bass player.
frozencons only thing I didn't like about this video is the handlong of the reverb, maybe more ambient sounds or layers like cap'n was suggesting... all in all a good demo of the pedals.
Opening thing was absolutely hilarious hahahahahaha
This one has been in the can for a long time. I hope there will be some new content soon. I miss my internet pretend buddies Nathan and the Captain.
Bruce Hewat Same here!
The EBS multicomp is the best compressor for bass I've ever used. Compressor love is subjective, but this $200 pedal can make a $300 bass sound like it's worth $2000+. Hands down, the best comp for bass on the market, bar none.
I had MXR M87 when it came out, was my first compressor and it was ok, but I only used it on 2 gigs before selling it and decided that I don't need compressors. Meanwhile, I was always interested in multicomp as it always seemed like a very musical pedal (plus, I don't need hard compression, just nice soft subtle will do). Well, yesterday I took the plunge and bought it (and it's the new studio edition!). Can't wait for it to arrive! Time to give compressors another go :D
Judging by this at least, that thing sounds incredible! I'm an absolute fiend with multiband compression in the studio, so the idea of being able to have it on the floor is pretty damn cool...
Multiband and tubesim settings are the 2 settings I'm mostly interested in trying out. I'm using a 2 band eq Stingray (roundwounds) and a passive P with flats. My P actually has slightly louder output, so I'm hoping to find common ground fairly easily, and doubt I'll need to set the comp to "active" mode.
ever try the darkglass?
The compression pedal was impressive.
For the record.... EBS pedals work amazingly with guitars as well!
This is the first video in the series that I have listened to Nathan and thought that yeah this guy can play...nice playing
Excellent demonstration!
Hey guys, just thought I'd let you know that a couple of links in the description are wrong. You just need to switch round the chorus & Octabass links. Thanks for another great video!
Nathan should come jam with you when you test guitars as well, more bass is always good :)
"I would like to multi comp you" xD ahahahahahahaha
6:44 Protip: You get the most out of the MULTIBAND setting when you unscrew the bottom plate. The are two plastic micro potentiometers inside which are used to adjust the lo and hi band thresholds. In Normal and Tube mode the LOW treshhold is used to limit the sound. I don't know what the crossover frequency is. I have actually e-mailed EBS about that, but they never got back to me. :D
ALSO, the UniChorus has a dry/wet pot inside. It's factory set to 50/50 I believe. Same thing goes for the DynaVerb I guess, but not sure since I don't own one.
Bass chorus somehow has more sense to me than guitar chorus.
Please do some videos on G&L basses, or Warwick basses, or the Ibanez Talman basses, or the Ibanez ATK basses. Love your videos with Nathan and Chappers, and Matt, and Bea. Always love tuning in to Andertons for all of the gear info!
We need a Miku pedal for bass which makes the heavy sound Captain spoke in the beginning
Never let guitarists do bass effects ;)
Great sounding pedals! Lovely playing too.
best intro ever
Lee Anderton should not be the one demo'ing pedals. He goes straight for the unusable setting every time every pedal. He does not hit that sweet spot, or so she said.
You've offered nothing with this comment and establish zero credibility other than being a hater.
Thanks for the video. That comp is simply killer!
Tony Levin uses the EBS Octabass
Yeah he does. I'm a guitarist, and I bought one and used its for recording. It's a hell of a pedal. I'm digging all these pedals for bass.
You guys should have mentioned just one thing - that these are all new "studio edition" pedals with some slight upgrades.
The chorus, octaves, and compressor seem to be better than other similar bass pedal reviews I've seen.
We need Warwicks!
second-ed, third-ed, fourth-ed and fifth-ed
and Steinbergers just for a laugh
Yeah I'm so sick of Jazz's and Pbass, How about a 5 string Corvette, it doesn't need to be anything crazy.
I was looking for a compressor. Almost got MXR. Now it may be the EBS.
Do they djent?
Multicomp is amazing, i got mine 3 years ago, best compressor ever
The DynaVerb does give it that Bus stop bathroom vibe.
there's a lot of soloist bass players (outside of just the rock music scene) that utilize reverb pedals as an essential part of their pedalboard
Now I want to learn bass after watching this video, any suggestions Andertons? ;p
octave pedals shootout!!!
I actually ended up buying one of those compressors for my electric guitar after ABing a whole bunch in denmark street. I needed one for a gig when i was in the area. I've bought and sold a bunch of other comps in the interim as I thought i couldn't go on with a bass comp. But I cant really fault it!
There's a guitar version of the EBS comp available. I use it myself and it's pretty good.
Great intro! Well done
You've missed a pedal out! What about the EBS Metal drive? Can u do extra vid on this one please?
Fellas, can you do these tests with a 5 string? IME a lot of the complicated pedals have a hard time with lower notes.
A little Lee, "The Captain," goes a long way for me. Overkill at the beginning...
damn thts the ehx mel9, youre fired
You nailed the mr bean voice.
Never been a huge fan a bass chorus, I dont know why. It's just not my thing. He makes it sound pretty cool on this demo though
hey ! i would love a comparison between the sansamp preamp and the mxr preamp, can't find a good one in youtube, greetings from chile !
I've missed u guys
I like the Sound of the EBS multi comp and other EBS pedals. I bought different ones. But my multi comp pedal is a real troublemaker . . . Never really worked . . . A monday- pedal :-(
What is the Andertons recommended "Good" Power supply?
Check out the episode of That Pedal Show which was dedicated to power supplies. It was uploaded on September 16, 2016.
how about sounds like smashing pumpkins?
can yall do an all about that bass for octavers. include like the octamizer and sub n up
for a company that is specific to bass i would not expect a reverb or why any other bass companies to make a reverb
Have you ever listened to Stanley Clarke, one of the greatest bass players to see how much he uses the reverb ???
*But where is the BASS IQ?!^*
U know the triple envelope filter.
That's what I was wondering. I haven't been able to find a good demo of it.
fun intro, informative video, but too much busy playing and slap, would have liked more simple, plodding basslines.
Could you guys do a video on the Fender Super Bassman~?
All the videos I've seen are quite pathetic, and lack explanation or don't go into the depth of tone variability, and I'm sure you guys could do a much better job than them~
👌🏻
What's with the "GU1" in the intro shot? The Ibanez GU1 tuner?
The post code of the Andertons Store starts with GU1. Guildford.
hey this guy is pretty good at bass i think
I don't much like the multidrive, everything else was pretty cool.
Criminal Minds springs to mind.
Maybe Sound like Tom Morello BY busting the Bank
nice :D
Could you review Steve Harris sig p bass please? I'm interested in your opinions on the playability, tone etc. Thank you
it'll sound and feel just like any other p bass, just costs more and looks worse
Thomas McAteer
I disagree. I played it myself a couple of times and I liked it.
It's in the refrigerator
if you're referring to the Royal blue model as an old model it has spb 1 pick ups. I own it but replaced it with Spb4 s and the sound is more than marginal.
i didn't say it doesn't play well, i just said it'll play like any other p bass, if you like p basses then im sure it'll feel right at home, but it really isn't different enough to warrant a review
Thomas McAteer
chorus pedal sounds like any other chorus pedal etc?
whooooooaaaaaa
Been too long..
Scary creepy ... Guys please.
We didn't need you yapping
The very first word of this video is clearly a barf.
For me it all sounds like he play in the toilet….. 😅😅😅😅
Iiiiiiii will not get an ebs fan
