Would you guys PLEASE do "sound like..." videos for bass players? Geddy Lee, Steve Harris, Billy Sheehan, Geezer Butler, Cliff Burton, Jaco P, the list goes on and on!
This will be a great Idea..." Sound like without bursting the Bank" Jonas Hellborg, Bootsy Collins and of course the Bass Player in Level42...
They actually did.... search up ‘Sound like Metallica... on bass’. They covered gear Rob, Jason and Cliff used.
Just to chime in and piggyback a request on this amazing suggestion... dUg Pinnick, Doug Wimbish, and/or Dan Maines would be phenomenal for me. Sure, as a bass player I know what actual gear they use, but if I could get halfway there on a budget, that would be insanely great info.
Yes! A Sound Like series would be more entertaining and informative than a bunch of gear reviews. The Metallica and James Jamerson vids were great. More please...
Geddy Lee and Les Claypool would both be great. Chris Squire had a great tone though that was mostly just due to playing a Rickenbacker.
I love it when Nathan plays guitar with Lee on bass. That's how a bass and guitar should work together.

I really didn't like it. Can't find any utility for it. For me it sounds like crap.
I had the EHX wah for a time - I wouldn’t necessarily recommend that pedal because the inner circuits break easily. My pedal lasted 2 weeks before it died. In terms of sound though it’s pretty good
That Mono Synth is SICK!!
Would really love that EHX, but as an actual pedal you can put on your board, lol. It's cute as an expensive toy, but you need something stationary and solid.

That Bass Muffin is sheer madness…. The blend seemed to work the opposite way round to how you’d expect.
Some great pedals there. I even quite liked the Mini Synth pedal. And Synth sounds aren’t normally my thing.
As the plaque on Dr. Robert Moog's desk stated, "It's pronounced Moog as in Rogue, not Moog as in Fugue...(from a guy whose name is pronounced Paca as in Jamaica, not Paca as in Caca...). You two are my Friday morning goto!

The biggest problem with the ehx wah is that It will slide away from you if its not in a sticky surface.
I use the guitar Pedal on Bass as well, and it has a plastic cradle to stop sliding. Works well on my Pedalboard.
How am I supposed to velcro this to my board haha

A few of these have already been on my radio, but add to cart! Maybe a more traditional wah to plant on my first pedal board; but that monosynth, chorus, just need a nice delay and bam!
Phaser is awesome on bass e.g. look up the Yes song Tempus Fugit: the late great Chris Squire on the MPC Electra Warlock bass with it’s built-in effects modules.
MPC effects were great! My brother has an Electra guitar with two overdrives, it's amazing!
Man I'm wanting that synth pedal bad now! I've been using an mxr filter and electro harmonix baseballs (both on my pedalboard) forever. They come in handy when we play some funk tunes, or when I just want to add some synthy bass in songs to help our keyboard player out. I'm definitely gonna check out that synth pedal.

You guys are so freakin' damn great! Plus, there's the best looking Precision bass I've ever seen... and I'm not even a fan of P basses ;)
I'm thinking exactly the same thing. Generally, not a fan of P's. Probably due to growing up with a jazz. Duck Dunn looking P is the most aesthetically pleasing thing you can do with a P. I want one, no lie.
You should demo the Boss SY-1...
The EHX wah to me is very tedious to handle and prone to live issues:
- you cannot integrate it on a pedalboard, it always needs an extra setup
- it slips back/forth and sideways on the floor; not fixed to one location; your singer might kick it unintentionally.
- the movement might introduce hassle with the cables, especially the power supply which gets pulled out easily.
as soon as Nathan turned that Crying Bass on I knew I wanted one, dropped one straight in the basket!!!

The MXR VBO must be their favorite. I say that because once they turned it on, they kept it on for the rest of the video. The bright blue light should have been a dead giveaway.
Nobody has answered in a year so I'll do it. The blue light above the footswitch is the mid boost light. The one below the footswitch is the on/off status. The mid boost light stays on even when the pedal is off. If the octave had been on it would've been obvious

You guys jam out definitely would love more sounds like and blindfold challenges like a sounds like tool or les claypool. maybe the captain should be a meet with Nathan king like he did with Danish Pete

You guys sound great, as usual... I found that MXR makes good cross over pedals that are intended for guitar, but sound good with my P Bass...

Did you do something special with the amp / bass / cables to make it work so efficiently ? Would be great to get your feedback ... Cheers and roll of more Videos !
