Very well presented. Well done. I enjoyed that video very much! But you guys always have great, informative vids with great scenery and local info. That's fab Wolf. Thanks so much. I needed some enjoyment here this eve. Been a wicked weather weekend in East Central Missouri. Odd evening here being 64 degrees and 99% humidity. I know I have never seen that before! Dodging hail and PDS tornadoes. Fortunately they went S and E, again. Major whew. So much damage in the central USA that still not got March roof, siding, and one window repaired yet due to backlogs and product issues. Good grief. But, I know you all don't miss any of that at all. Hopefully, you don't experience it now that you are settled somewhere nice. How's the new place?... Be glad you are there! Bet it was a beautiful day. OH and am liking you putting up on screen translations to see how words there are spelled once you say them. Helps get a bit more comfortable perhaps. Thanks so much for that!!!! --- LOL but I bought off Amazon kindergarten Portuguese books. Again, hearing it really helps as well as seeing it in print. Take care there.
Olá estelladog1 Nice to hear from you. Glad the tornados went around you. We don't miss them. You know that weird temperature shift that tells you the conditions are right . Here we do get times when the Saharan sand hangs in the air for a day or two. But it is fine. We need to get better about using the phases and putting them on screen. When are you coming?
Hi you guys! I wanted to retire this Dec. But, I've been told I should keep working another 1-2 years and retire Dec 2026. I think I am ill advised! Once I do retire I have to get through probably 3-4 surgeries and recovery so if I retire Dec 2024, I figure I'd be there by Dec 2026 after all that! Wondering too, price difference to do them there and pay outright! IDK One thing I do know, I am tired of paying over $900/month for BC/BS health insurance! They've gotten a small fortune out of me the past 27 years of me paying my own insurance. A sin! It'd be different if I had major health issues, I realize but I do not. Three of the four would be out of pocket elective anyway. My poor lil doggie is old and not too well. I was hopeful not to bring him and would stay till he passed. That said, I am doing everything I can to keep him alive. I love my lil full blooded male Dachshund! He's a jug head lol. But that's ok. Figured I could always get a shelter dog once settled somewhere else. I know my health and peace of mind won't improve until I take the plunge, in which I believe a lot may vastly improve for sure. I love all your side travels and walks. That is what I wish to do! You are so doggone fortunate! I cannot wait. Believe I look at overseas real estate online nearly daily. So much is .... what was that? .... Yep just passing me by. Sadly. I fear if I don't get on it prices will be off the charts even worse. I believe I will know it is right when I see it, I am so hopeful. I don't relax easily so it could take a bit to settle down and take it all in, in order to not make an incorrect impulse decision. I only will have one shot at this for sure. I don't want to be homeless so I want to play my cards as right as humanly possible. BUT HEY, that's why you guys are there and could be further helpful! So there we have it. Trust me I count down the days. Kind of ticks me to be told to wait another year or two. What does that person know anyway?!...That's what I say. ugh So yeah, definitely working on it feverishly. It is so exciting to me even if it is not to anyone else I know. Such is life! I want to live and not merely exist. Live while I am alive since I am the only one left pretty much. All I can say is, it sounds like lunch!!!!! See ya there friends!
This video was slick. Starting with the voiceover, then to live narration & back & forth. Excellent. But I did have 1 question 9:25 🤔Where’s your dad’s tattoo here?
I'm loving your channel - thanks so much for all the great info on Madeira! I know you guys don't have any young children in the family, but would you ever consider doing a video on the schooling options on the island for potential expats with kids? How are public schools there, I wonder?
Great video guys. Never get bored of seeing Madeira. And kudos to Wolf for having the courage to join you guys at such a young age. What an experience. What's been people's biggest hurdle when they start considering the possibility of moving abroad? When I think about it, it just feels like there's so many things to consider.
Olá Allen, The hardest part is believing you can do it and then letting go and allowing yourself to work the things that are an issue. Wolf really is having a good experience. Which makes us extremely happy.
"You can never cross the ocean until you have the courage to lose sight of the shore" Came across this quote yesterday and I'd not heard it before. Kinda sums up the requirement of starting anything new in life, but especially moving abroad for a new life.
Nice footage and editing, as usual. I would have explained what "FIRE" is (Financial Independence Retire Early) is, as not everyone is familiar with this term.
I really enjoyed your previous videos yet feel the newer ones are too fast and he talks way to fast for me. He is exuberant though. Maybe he’ll start up his own channel. .
secondly, The Azores recently had over 150,000 tourists visits in One Month. Wondering how many more tourists portuguese islands can handle without losing the natural elements they provide? Seems saturation is very near or already occurring.
Maybe they will have to limit tourism someday. But the infrastructures have been built up over the last 20 years in order to handle this and increase the local economy. Verses the locals always leaving and coming back when they retire because there are no jobs. They don't have outhouses anymore either. Each step leads to good and bad regardless.

Alan, i've seen 3-4 other popular youtubers recently introduce moving to portugal/Europe programs. Was there a class where everyone attended?
secondly, The Azores recently had over 150,000 tourists visits in One Month. Wondering how many
more tourists portuguese islands can handle without losing the natural elements they provide? Seems saturation is very near or already occurring.
Not that we know of. Our is moving Abroad not specifically for Portugal. But of course we help definitely help with that as well.
Maybe they will have to limit tourism someday. But the infrastructures have been built up over the last 20 years in order to handle this and increase the local economy.
