One of the greatest musical performances ever captured on video...not just the music but the chemistry and pure love and joy that Tal and Jeff feel for each other. Priceless... love you forever, Jeff
His generosity with other players and love of their talent was legendary. This performance is a typical example. I've literally grown up with his music. He was only a year older than me. So sadly missed.
Honestly, haven't heard this song for over ten years, and this has brought memories flooding back. A true masterpiece by the legend Jeff Beck. His generous acknowledgment of new talent Tal, speaks volumes of his own humility and humanity.
How could he not? Tal had the prefect tone and perfect feel at just the right moment. Tal’s performance here leaves me stunned with amazement every time I hear this. Jeff must have been thinking “holy crap how do I follow that?”
I just heard we lost Jeff Beck today. Anyone who's ever picked up an electric guitar and tried to play can appreciate his virtuosity. He could do it all with authority - metal, progressive, R&B, blues, jazz fusion, rockabilly, even techno. He's the musician other guitar gods listened to when they weren't performing.
Sheer perfection, the likes of which we'll likely never see again. Your gift was quite special, Mr. Beck. We'll all dearly miss your playing brilliance, but at least we'll always the gifts you gave us such as this masterpiece, Jeff. Rest in peace.
His playing is beyond compare, obviously … but the interaction between him and Tal … the genuine JOY on his face found in her playing … wow. Now there’s the definition of “maestro.”
First time I saw this, some years ago, I cried after this bass solo. This is the perfect example of what human being can produce, a great moment of humanity and music. The happiness on her face, on Jeff’s face too, vinnie understanding that something is happening as well … that is simply beautiful. I have a look regularly, with always the same feeling.
I’m also guilty as charged (I shed a tear as well), she’s a phenomenal bassist. Can’t believe Jeff can express that much emotion with 6 strings. Amazing…
His playing, feel, and sheer mastery of the instrument, always has, and always will have the power to bring me to tears, especially on this day of all days. Rest in Peace Jeff.
RIP incomparable Jeff Beck, we have lost a legend. One of the saddest days of my life. He was the most creative, breathtaking, masterful, expressive guitarists, and a beautiful soul. Words fail me. Heartbreaking to lose him.
Qué humildad la de Jeff Beck, que se refleja en su cara de admiración, asombro y orgullo cuando la joven Tal ejecuta su solo. Así son los grandes de verdad. Descansa en paz, maestro.

Every time I watch this, I get major goosebumps. Tall ripping on the bass... And of course, Jeff. As a guitarist myself, Jeff Beck was one of the best. If not, the best. Only certain players like Jeff Healey, Stevie Ray Vaughan, Santana, David Gilmore, Hendrix, BB & Albert King will ever give you this amazing feeling of true blues talent/magic. It's only if they are from another entity. I just know I am truly glad they're so many videos of my hero's shredding I'll never get desperate for motivation. Staggered and stunned at the sudden tragic news. Maestro, genius and always gave the impression he was a humble and kind caring human being. A catalogue of genus is left behind for us all to continue to enjoy such as this song
Jeff was a true artist who just happened to use his guitar as a tool and music as the medium. He really transcended the often stifling category of "guitar hero". He was an innovator, a visionary.
I love how Beck is so enthusiastic about Tal. I mean, obviously one would be, but it's also as if he's passing the torch. There's something very lovely about it all.
So glad you wrote those words, Trev. I've read other comments that attempted to soil that moment with implications of a nefarious undercurrent that simply isn't there. This is an old master reveling in the pride that can only come from passing the torch, as you said.

But meeting them and Tal being myself a bass player was the best. I also saw a bunch of world class rockstars those days. I made and brought a cappuccino for Jimmy Page. That was the highlight of Mr. Beck's week in Ronnie's and surely one of the coolest moment in my life so far.
Pablo Arregui dude that is fucking amazing 😭😭😭
Pablo Arregui bueeeeenaa wn, fuiste bendecido tremendamente
Pablo Arregui I envy you. I sit in London and watch tv. Good luck Pablo
I'm so pleased for you man. What a story to tell your loved ones now & in the future!
Pablo Arregui AWESOME !!! 🆒👍👍👍👍 Fantastic !!! 🆒👍👍👍😎✌☮🚬
He did not go brave into the night....he went all electric with guitar and soul blazing. Goodnight Jeff x
Jeff Beck..best guitarist ever
I love watching Jeff’s genuine expressions of appreciation as he watches Tal play her solo! He is such a fine man in addition to being an incredible musician.
The antidote to mindless shredding. Amen.
yes! pure talent and I don't really care for shredding anyway. I chose the bass since it is for rich tones and carried the melody.
Pure Beck, one of my wife and I's favorite song from 'BLOW BY BLOW'.
This is how I will remember Jeff Beck...having fun and being amazed by that young, awesome bass player (you're great, Tal!) who, at the end of an incredible perfect solo, looks at him asking "Have I been good enough?"and he smiles "Fuck yes, darling! You made my day!".
Damn, gonna miss having this man on the planet.
This was one of my deepest favorites, from the very first moment hearing it, in 1984.
One of the greatest musical performances ever captured on video...not just the music but the chemistry and pure love and joy that Tal and Jeff feel for each other. Priceless... love you forever, Jeff
2022 and i still come back to this live version what an unbelievable performance !
Same here. It takes me to heaven. I’m in love.
So do I , so good
Same, this show was golden
same here. How old was she?
Yes!
RIP. What a sad day. OMG. The soundtrack of my life. A legend in every way.
His generosity with other players and love of their talent was legendary. This performance is a typical example.
I've literally grown up with his music. He was only a year older than me.
So sadly missed.
Best bass solo ever.
Play it again today Mike.
Mais um velhote do rock and Roll e da musica se foi.... Descanse em paz Jeff ...R.I.P...😔🎸🎼🎼🎼🎼🎸
48 years I've been on this planet and just now been directed to this artist. Incredible.
Sheer perfection, the likes of which we'll likely never see again. Your gift was quite special, Mr. Beck. We'll all dearly miss your playing brilliance, but at least we'll always the gifts you gave us such as this masterpiece, Jeff. Rest in peace.
Goodbye legend. Thanks for all these treasures.
I have never felt loss as I do today. I've lost many heros, brothers, lovers but this guy is deeply in my heart. Will always cherish his music.
Miss you Jeff so much😢
Its been 1 year since you passed
R.I.P. Jeff Beck.... the music will stay forever.
His playing is beyond compare, obviously … but the interaction between him and Tal … the genuine JOY on his face found in her playing … wow. Now there’s the definition of “maestro.”
I was thinking of something to say, when I read your comment. Patrick, you summed up the ethos of this video perfectly. Well done Sir!
The most famous right tit in rock and roll.
Stopped me in my tracks…He was always otherworldly…creating prisms of sound. A staggering loss. RIP Jeff Beck, may you soar eternally.
A master is gone, but he left us millions of pleasures.
Amazing…
In my opinion, has to be one of the most beautifully played bass solos i have ever heard. PERFECT NOTE PLACEMENT.
That bass solo brought tears to my eyes. That million dollar smile!

So happy to have this to always listen back to and watch the magic unfold . What a staggering loss for us all that loved Jeff's unique playing . RIP 🙏
The Love and admiration Jeff gives Tal for her playing and the happiness and pride she takes in is just beautiful.
Qué humildad la de Jeff Beck, que se refleja en su cara de admiración, asombro y orgullo cuando la joven Tal ejecuta su solo. Así son los grandes de verdad. Descansa en paz, maestro.
❤
Authentic emotion. R.I.P. Jeff Beck. I remember listening him at night when i was younger, memories remain, and sadness for this big loss is present. Thank you.
What a horrific loss. I'm devastated. Such a diamond in the world of guitar. Thank you for all the years of unique masterpieces of music, touch and feel. Tal and Vinnie, thank you too for co-creating this amazing concert.
And Jason! And the instigators of this setting at Ronnie Scott's!
Thank you, Jeff and my hero's, for always shredding the hell out of the guitar every night on and on again. RIP JEFF BECK 1944-2023
Tal is so talented. Music flows through her so naturally.
This man is beyond amazing. His skills are unmatched. I actually like the live version way more. And a lot of people don't know Stevie Wonder wrote this song. Both of them. Pure legendary masterpieces.
Tal's smile after Jeff's congratulations is so wonderful...
Regrettable loss, a great guitarist, a teacher for all generations. I live in Brazil, but my heart is with you JEFF BACK
Dallas weeps.
02:53 This comeback is just pure poetry, what a sound what an emotion! Only Jeff...
Rest in piece, I never thought he would leave us. He was always healthy and inspiring and this actually makes me feel like my era of culture is beginning to fade.
All the greats are dying..😞
rip
This is my absolute favorite performance of his. I have always loved Jeff Beck from my early years growing up to my aged existence. R.I.P maestro.
Just gotta love Jeff Beck!! He's incredible on that guitar, and the joy and pride he shows for Tal's talent is pure!!💜 Tal is amazing!!
Hey Nancy how are you doing today????
I love everything about this
Guitar,Drums bass everything
There's not a single thing to dislike
This song says so much without even saying a word. RIP to Jeff Beck, a true musical legend.
R I.P The greatest guitarist that ever was and ever will be. Sad news Rest in peace Jeff Beck 🙏🏻🕊️❣️ you'll be rocking that guitar in heaven. Bless you 🎸
I your opinion pal, its now Orianthi, she's taken guitar playing to a different level. Don't get me wrong, Kate JB was gd
Goodness; that was astonishing beautiful. So sad that we won't the the likes again. R.I.P. Jeff 😢
Showing the cooperation and sharing in music; Jeff Beck was one of a kind and Tal fit this effort great. A classic forever. God bless Jeff Beck. 👏🏼
Best guitarist EVER; 🎸
I never get tired of this. This is what music is about. ❤
Same with me. And everytime I watch and hear him the tears come to my eyes because he isn't here anymore.
Words can not say, how much you put your life and soul into the guitar. Perfect Jeff! .
There are so many good guitar players, but Beck is in a whole different universe of playing. And Tal's solo is amazing on this, what a talent.
I like how he gives Tal space. That bass is as big as she is and yet she is all over it. Such a talent. I miss Jeff. I learn so much from just listening to him. He has complete control over every note. Just amazing.
I have been blessed to see this genius live! What a great player!!! RIP Jeff Beck
2:40 - I don't know what he said but it seems Tal's solo moved Jeff so much he couldn't start to play - he just wanted to send her some love - and boy what a smile she gave him in return! HEART is the difference between Jeff's music and so many other technical guitar wizards. Love that man. We are gonna miss him so bad. RIP, hero!
I’m pretty sure he says “I’m not gonna play anymore”
Something to that effect anyway, conveying the sentiment that her solo is a tough act to follow.
You are certain Sir. His great heart and generosity is not common in this days.
He said "COME ON BABE, COME ON" just saying to her to shine....
@@andreportugal4744 Awww, sweet... I think that may be what he FELT - but I think what he SAID was correctly stated above by Shortnite 🙂
@@morganfisherart Yeah, that might be what he said. We just need to recognize this is a magic moment for them and for us.
eternal memory of the great musician
It's crazy to me that when I listen to such music, all I do is smile and shed tears... I guess it means this touches my soul
Play this at my wedding this was the first song my wife and I danced to this was our wedding everytime I hear this song I get chills and tears in my you will be missed forever
I love that he gave huge accolades to this bass player. She is fantastic.
Staggered and stunned at the sudden tragic news. Maestro, genius and always gave the impression he was a humble and kind caring human being. A catalogue of genus is left behind for us all to continue to enjoy such as this song
Damn, the way he micro manages his whammy....so delicate. He realy poors all his emotions into it...what an artist!! Tall sounds amazing too..
Jeff was a true artist who just happened to use his guitar as a tool and music as the medium. He really transcended the often stifling category of "guitar hero". He was an innovator, a visionary.
drummer is doesn't get enough credit. He is amazing.
Yes, he is my big favorite, too.
V I N N I E
He's got great "time"
Thats grand master Vinnie Calouita on drums!
Believe me Vinnie Colaiuta is downright revered among drummers
I love how Beck is so enthusiastic about Tal. I mean, obviously one would be, but it's also as if he's passing the torch. There's something very lovely about it all.
And I also like the shy look she gives at the end of her solo as if to ask "was that OK?"
So glad you wrote those words, Trev. I've read other comments that attempted to soil that moment with implications of a nefarious undercurrent that simply isn't there. This is an old master reveling in the pride that can only come from
passing the torch, as you said.
she is amazing!
as a man i wish i was her bass, but as a musician, and a harsh critic, im in awe of the talent. ometimes i just want to hang it up lol
@@thedmtfp She's such a good bassist..... but so damn cute on top of it all ...... maaaaan.
Just wish she had more volume in this vid! @@thedmtfp
63 here also. Greetings from Northern Michigan. Uncle Ted was freakin awesome in concert I'm happy to say.
Big part of my life in the 70's. When Blow by Blow came out, it blew us all away. Loved all the stuff he did with Jan Hammer. The feel is just great, the subtleness, the virtuosity . . . Only one Jeff Beck. Rest in Peace.
