- “She has few friends in the Conservative Party now and she could defect in quite a high profile manner to Reform UK.”
Suella Braverman could defect to Reform UK after she “overplayed her hand too quickly” destroying her Tory leadership bid, says Times Radio's political commentator Theo Usherwood.

She might not have many friends within the Conservative party but then the Conservative party have very few friends in the country or even among their dwindling membership. The Conservative party will continue to become even more meaningless.
Reform Ltd. They're a private company, never forget that. (see my later sub-comment on why it matters).
You think that makes a difference ?
What’s your point?
@@AndriyValdensius-wi8gw Do you actually want a private company running the country? Have you seen the state of privatised business' in this country?
@7ookee
No, I don't WANT a private anything running the country. I DIDN'T vote for them and never would. Tell that to the people who do, and obviously don't know or don't care that Reform is a private business.
@@AndriyValdensius-wi8gw in every kind of debate it's the people who are undecided who matter. Committed Reform Ltd voters of course don't care - in fact they just (falsely) claim all parties are private companies (other parties merely own some private companies). It's the undecided for whom knowing that a political entity isn't a public servant, but exists to make a profit, helps them to reevaluate their opinion.
The Tories are going nowhere at the moment - there's no point staying with this dead party.
I wonder if Braverman might find Reform too soft and liberal for her.
😂 brilliant 😂😂
She can't even manage to take a rainbow flag off her own building. How soft do you want?
Just imagine the Reform boys and members talking about her and "people like her". Yeah, she'll be "welcomed".
Come to a meeting before spouting nonsense you clearly know nothing about. You just make yourself look foolish.
They don't talk like that! They are not racist or bigoted. Where does all this hatred and fear come from?
@@paulgreen4161Really ?
@@paulgreen4161 Sure they aren’t 😂😂😂
@@paulgreen4161 From seeing and hearing the comments made by a large portion of his candidates during the election campaign. FYI, it's not hatred or fear, it's disgust.
The Tories will not be holding anyone to account for a couple of years , mate.
How people can give the Tories/Conservative/crackpot party any credibility it beyond me.
@@peteratkin3788 i agree i knew this back in the 80s how they treated the minors and privatisation i guess its taken 40 years for people to come to my way of thinking.

It would make sense. The whole point of reform is to attract these types of politicians
And in doing so reflect the views of increasing numbers of the electorate.

Cannot understand why Tory MPs have not already moved to Reform.
Because they have more than two brain cells.
Probably because they’re not fascists
Because they don't want to join the cult of Nigel.
Reform have a largely ignorant and racist following. Why would a serious politician join a bunch of talentless misfits? Then again, she does have the attributes you are looking for.
Because they don't want to share political positions with 30P, the guy their party kicked out?
Braverman will be well placed to reprise her role as the “shadow-shadow-minister for hatred” with Reform.
@rebreaville9332 that's the kind we want no soft wets 👊🇬🇧👊
This is antisemitic.
@@Squadron_Bodron How do you extract that?
@@rebreaville9332 they are only attacking her because she supports Israel. Disgrace. Antisemitism pro-max.
What a ridiculous comment 😂
The Reform Party could deport Braverman if she joined them.
Hardly considering she's British 😂 good bs attempt at smearing reform though
Is there room in the Reform Party for another large ego?
What a boring comment
The judgement that Suella has a large ego is wildly inaccurate. I bet you think Tony Blair deserves a Nobel peace prize too.
@@kiingjackoffyea yours is great. You plank
@@kiingjackoffWith arguments of that quality you'll soon be vying with Farage for Party Leader. Is that all you've got?
My thinking exactly!
Im sure she would be welcomed with open arms, many of her views are consistent with the general public and REFORM UK Policies!!
There are more bigots that need to leave the Conservative party, where they go to is irrelevant, preferably they'll leave UK politics completely, but as beneficial as that would be it is unlikely.
Ah yes because controlled immigration is bigotry 😂😂
Braverman is cringe. Every time she speaks, it's embarrassing. The weird disconnect between what she thinks she is and what is really there.
She is lowlife, plain and simple.
Her and Liz Truss are living in an Alternative universe
Maybe you two are living in an alternative universe to most of the British nation.
@@Briangwoodward137 If 'most of the British nation', how do you explain the election result? I hear this so much... the whole 'silent majority' theory... but where is the evidence to bear that out?
airing....examples please.
Times Radio. The Sunday Sport broadcasting channel.
She got twice the votes as reform. I wonder how many voted for her, or her party. If she stands as a reform candidate in 2029, she could loose out to the Tory candidate, and we'd finally see the back of her.
I live just down the road from Fareham. I never got a good vibe from the place.
Reform have had a very strong showing in this election. They have won 5 seats for the first time EVER, but more importantly have come second in many constituencies. Even where in third place, they are a strong third. Labour only won because of Reform splitting the right wing vote. The Tories will descend into in fighting and a drift ever further right. They seem to have learned nothing from their defeat. I can see more Tories defecting to Reform in the coming months and years.
@@AndriyValdensius-wi8gw Thanks for sharing that terrifying thought. We truly are heading for disaster.
The Tories have only won because the progress vote has been split. The right-wing are not the majority in this country. Our outdated electoral system needs fixing. @@AndriyValdensius-wi8gw
The Times is now very leftwing.
There will of course be a by-election in Braverman's seat if she changes party ???
By-election is usually if the elected MP has resigned as the MP or is no longer able to serve as the MP for whatever reason. It is not entirely related to the political party she is associated with.
It’s just that by switching its allegiance, it runs the risk that the electorates would not vote for her in the next elections as some electorates are votes for the party instead of the candidates as an individual.
Farage would insist on it, as he did for the 2 defectors to UKIP in 2014.
@@dertery8724let’s just hope so. Braverman will probably argue that (in the two weeks) since the GE her voters have now all become Reform fanatics.
@@richardpiper4828 I think she would face trouble in that case! All her remarks defending why she is in the Conservative Party and why people should vote Tory despite their failures would really come to bite her if she claimed her voters were really Reformers!
Isn’t she a bit right wing even for Reform? 😂
*It's great to have Theo Usherwood back, he's the thinking man's Therese Coffey* 👍😎🧠🥃
Pity, she would make Tories unelectable for a decade
No prime minister of mine, absolute sausage
Need someone to explain to you how democracy works, dear?
Apparently, one of her favourites.
Absolute sausage

Has he got a sausage...
Nigel Farage's Reform UK? Is there another one owned by someone else or did the Times want to say his name?
It is significant that he is the one behind this bs party.
It is not a political party. It is a limited company with Nigel Farage as it's leader. (Some may call it a cult). The sooner the right leaning member of the conservatives. The sooner the party will realize, that for them to win any power back is to stay centre/centre right.
It's not a party. It's a private company.
With it's close links to the TUV Party and America's Republican Party. What are Reform Co Ltds views on abortion?
I remember when she was called Suella Fernandez.
An irrelevant politician going to an irrelevant party…makes sense. What they have in common is that the media give them both far more coverage than they warrant.
14% of the vote!
As relevant as the 'landslide' win of the Labour party when mostly the Muslims turned out to vote. 'Landslide' win...what a joke.
The Conservative Party that Suella Braverman wants to see flourish hardly exists. Arguably she is now in the wrong party.
I suspect that Braverman’s personal self-hatred and desperate need to be a member of the establishment at any cost will make jumping ship to the uncouth Reform UK unlikely. Nothing, though, would surprise me if she does jump-ship, for Sue-Ellen Cassiana Braverman (nee Fernandes) is certainly a complex individual.
Why did you write her whole name?
@@chesterdonnelly1212, because like it or not, and I am not sure that Ms Braverman does, that is her name which reflects her interesting Indian sub-continent ancestry via Kenya and Mauritious, with all of the social and political influence that this would have had on a first generation family arriving in the ‘mother country’. We are all products of many influences, and I suspect that Ms Braverman would benefit from some time indulging in self reflection.
@@Uduwerage her history makes her British. There is no other country you could claim her to be of or from. She's not Kenyan is she? She's not Indian. She's British.

Good riddance to terrible nonsense. Cruella Braverman is an awful politician that thrives on division.
division and hatred
@olaa5534
Braverman moving to Reform is virtually inevitable. She's not a "Conservative", in any real sense. She's a natural far right politician. What's more she won't be the only one. The Conservative Party is crumbling away before our eyes. It is what happened in France. The centre right Les Républicains / Gaullists have been virtually absorbed into the far right populist National Rally. Reform will grow. It may even take Labour MPs or seats. There is a dialectical inevitability about it all.
Shes also absolutely useless at whatever job shes been given.
But she will still be sn MP.
She got the most votes?
Suella said no such homophobic thing.
As a trader you should know, always factor in a breakdown if taking a Range Rover anywhere. Particularly an L322, which in my experience is possibly the least reliable version. Having said that, cant think of anything that's better to tow with or a nicer place to be. Awesome car when they work. I gave up and started running Land Cruisers about 15 years ago. They dont go wrong but are sooo boring. I still yearn for another Range Rover if I am honest..
"Plate spinning" excellent analogy. ...Given the potential work load maybe more like "Manhole covers"
She is more suited to the right extreme of Reform. The Conservative Party will never recover either these people in the party, Brexit, Truss, Braverman have had their chance of power and wasted money on gimmicks which we are still paying for
Extreme right? Hardly. She doesn't think men dressed as women are women, she doesn't want mass immigration like the majority of the country, she highlights the failure of multiculturalism She s right, see incidents in Leeds etc.
@@James-o2u9xI thought the riots in Leeds were white people whats the issue there ?
She would insist on the leadership, then reform would be yet another British political party operated by the sub-continent
If she comes its only to get top job , shes not trustworthy at all. She wants top job.
If Starmer supported Ukraine with the same conviction as he supports Israel, we would have British troops on the ground in Moscow
I don't like Torys/Reform & won't vote for them but I don't want to denigrate those who do. For those who do like Torys/Reform, to 'denigrate' means 'to put down' or 'mock'
Which is precisely what arrogant commentators do, proving their lack of intelligent rhetoric.
Cleatly one would not wish to denegrate your level of intelligence of course.
All conservatives who do not want to let our country get any worse should join Reform. If only to keep Starmer supporting anyone against king and country
Labour supporters just as Patriotic as anyone.🇬🇧
The Labour government now will destroy our country as the conservatives have for years. There is a storm coming we are being invaded and have an enemy within. By the way I used to support Labour I have friends of different cultures and have gay friends before you start labelling me as all the left do. We are sinking further and further with the population increase and immigration. Our quality of life will diminish and don’t make the mistake that it won’t affect you as it will affect everyone. In the history of our country what’s happening now with past Labour governments would not be allowed to happen. Action would have been taken to protect the British people. Now it’s anyone but British people. Keep you head in the sand and be happy
Trump didn’t say it wasn’t a matter of concern oh yeah that sounds like Trump talking doesn’t it.. exactly like that.. no in fact he said he would end the war in 24 hours
