He just became dumb when previous Raiden showed up and wiped away Dark Raiden.

I'll be honest, Revenant Liu Kang from MKX is my favorite look for him. The odd hodgepodge of Netherrealm and Ancient Chinese/Mongolian aesthetics is cool to me.

I really hope NRS keeps the new designs consistent throughout the next few games. Just because Liu Kang and the rest of the cast look so good. And not look like completely different people next game besides their clothes.
