That's what I love about Marvel, in the Marvel universe heroes do not stand above or below us, they stand beside us
I think this is why Marvel has in a way made me drawn to it more than DC has even though I grew up more DC - it's this idea that heroes aren't always the super ones with powers, that what makes heroes are the courage and strength and compassion deep inside of all of us, Marvel has allowed these heroes to not stand above us but stand beside us, they are flawed as we all are but heroes nonetheless. DC has always had these amazing heroes so much larger than life but they seem so beyond humanity, they lead humanity, they're above us in a way, they're the heroes who are suppose to lead humanity into the light but Marvel's heroes are just like us really. and it's great to see a video that shows that aspect of Marvel's storytelling. neither DC nor Marvel is wrong or right, and I love that they are different :)
I love how you made your preference and compared them so respectfully - I really wish more comic book/superhero fans were more like you.
I find myself more aligned with DC for those reasons, that their primary characters are so much more than ordinary people, how they're essentially Gods among men. But at the same time, I completely understand and respect why someone would prefer Marvel. I really wish some fans would learn to accept and love both, instead of the fanboyish rivalry they're so determined to keep going.
I grew up with Marvel more and you spelled out perfectly why I still love it more to this day.
That said I have great respect for DC and though I will poke fun at DC fanboys, anything Batman or Green Lantern related immediately catches me (Under the Red Hood is particularly memorable)
In the end, comics are comics and we are all nerds for loving them.

It's not being a nerd, it's not being a hero, it's all of it. Nerds can be a hero too. Beta what you said makes us all feel like we can believe a little more in our own heroes, to be more than we were the day before, all for others. Being a hero isn't the lack of bravery, it's the advent of being afraid. Feel fear, but always be bright, never give in, and always protect those who can't protect themselves. Captain America embodies that wish.

I'm more of a DC guy. DC heroes are portrayed as more powerful (generally speaking). They are seen more god like people. Seen as more perfect ideals. But even these idealists CHOOSE to acknowledge their flaws. Which takes a lot of courage and wisdom.
The one thing that makes me like DC characters more is although their powers are far above and beyond, they make the choice to acknowledge their humanity as first and foremost.
DC heroes put themselves as if they are in our shoes. They know they are NOT (because of their immense power that was given to them), BUT.... they make the CHOICE to.
DC heroes are mostly gods trying to be human. They powerful, but they seem so... I don't want to say nice. But I guess heartwarming and wise. Like Dalai Lama and Mother Teresa. Both are religious figures who choose to acknowledge their humanity. Both are wise. Superman reminds me of that.
And to me, to have gods that deliberately step down to our level and bring out the hero in us is deep for me. Biggest example is probably Superman.
With that said, I respect Marvel. Spiderman was my FIRST favorite superhero. Marvel was what got me into superheroes.

Not many videos make me cry, or almost cry, but this one did. The feels were strong with this one; from the quote by Aunt May (my heart warmed that you used that quote to begin with) and all the heroic, courageous acts done by everyone in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, and just everyone in general was gorgeous. The video has real meaning, moments that break your heart and moments that you can't help but smile at. Fantastic!

Man, I don't even watch AoS but that video was remarkable. All the emotion of an epic, spanning saga condensed down into 5 1/2 minutes of beauty and wonder. This was everything that makes me a MCU fan, thank you for making this.
