- Time to set sail on the Disney Magic from Southampton UK! The first Disney Cruise for over a year. Come and join me on the first sail away!
Tonight we dined at Lumiere's restaurant and even did some fancy champagne tasting!

Loved that bit of escapism. Glad you enjoyed yourselves. You don't pay any tax at all on merchandise when the ships at sail. That's why the shops wait to open when they're at sea.
You do pay tax on this cruise as it’s still working UK waters.. so 20% is added. But yes normally the store openings is to do with tax!
My 7 year old daughter is bouncing around now after watching this. I wanted to cry when I heard the horn. It’s sooooo exciting, I don’t want to rush your trip but I can’t wait for mine now xx

😆 The horns are the best part!! When we were visiting Cape Canaveral, two of the Disney ships were in port and they had a horn competition!! They actually play A LOT of different songs. It was AWESOME!
It was so funny! Was hoping to hear more. But yeah seen online some of the others!
So far only the two newer Disney ships, the Dream and Fantasy, play a variety of songs in their horns. The older/classic ships, Magic and Wonder, just play the one quote from"When you wish upon a star."
l really liked the bathroom set up in your previous vlog - if l understood it correctly from how you filmed it . So sensible the have the toilet with its own door . There is nothing romantic about needing the loo while your hubby needs to shave or shower . Generous amount of towels too . We are in our late 60's and work as missionaries in South Africa , but managed a short cruise 15 years ago - for our 30th wedding anniversary ( yes 45 years married this year - what a wonderful blessing ) . This vlog brings back lovely memories .

Hannah , l so like the way you thank staff and greet staff - in your vlogs about shops in London too . It seems a small thing , but it brightens a staff members day . You are such a good example of this . Really lovely .

I, too, just came across your vlog of DM and compared to other vloggers who have been doing cruise reports (some while on the ship, others also doing “live chats”), I like yours the best! You don`t talk fast(travel agent vlog), don`t gush all over the place at every little thing(several “duo” vloggers) and your slow pace, with no CONSTANT chatting, makes me feel like I am right there with you - THANKYOU!! I wouldn`t go on a Disney cruise but your “calm, observing, just saying the necessary” manner has allowed me to take in what you are showing me without overwhelming me!

What a wonderful treat to give yourself after all the covid crazy. I have been on a few cruises not Disney but I felt a little scared when I first went so glad you didn't let that stop you. I wore a sea sick patch it worked for me. There is something so different about travelling on a cruise ship.

Nice catch of a rather interesting whistle! Shame that they use so much fuel, but probably just as well - probably caught many a person out and rather deafening... Sit up on deck at your peril I remember from the cruises I've been lucky enough to do. Just need to win the lottery and then I'll be able to do it again..
Fantastic vlog Hannah! I can't wait to have all those appetizers and entrees again. Since this was a test cruise, were you able to book a placeholder cruise (where you select the date at a later time), but can take advantage of the 10% discount while booking onboard? While obviously more crowded, the vibe onboard is even better with more people - all having a great time. Glad you enjoyed yourself, and looking forward to vlog #3.
Yes they had the 10% offer like normal! I do think more people would make it more exciting!

I love the Magic and the Wonder. Their shampoo has the best smell and reminds me of the cruise when I get home. I'm not much of a shopper but I love the cruise merch. Have a great time, enjoy the shows!

The ship is very pretty.The few cruise ship videos I've seen,never impress me.Disney seems to be trying to recall the earlier Trans-Atlantic ocean liners. Love the "Frozen" show! Lots and lots of cast members to help. Dinner looked yummy. Champagne tasting would be every night for me. I have only done a 2 night cruise from LA to Mexico - commonly known as the “booze cruise” 😆

I did a Disney cruise from Southampton in August, shortly after this. So much fun. Then I did a non Disney transatlantic to the Caribbean, and now it’s only 50 odd days until my next Disney cruise.

This cruise was for CMs and their family/ friends. nothing to do with youtubers. We just happen to make vlogs in our spare time and work for Disney, the vlogs are nothing to do with Disney. These are just our own views and videos. Hope that makes sense!
The magic seems gone. Not sure if it's the lack of people, the masks, or the weather. But something isn't the same.
I think having a few more people will make it great!!

I know you’re probably being inundated with questions but can I ask if you put your water in your checked luggage? We want to take some bottles of water on but weren’t sure if we would have to carry it on 💜
I asked and they said putting in my case was fine. I had 3 litres of water in my case and there was no issue. Alcohol you need to carry on yourself!

It is the smallest, but it’s great for a few nights! There was lots to do!

No we didn't, we could for breakfast but didn't for dinner as we only did 2 nights

What are the mask requirements onboard?
Inside only, but obviously not in your rooms. Not needed sat at dinner or walking around with a drink/ food inside
You said you couldn’t bring alcohol but internet says you can? It’s limited though
You can’t bring it in your suitcases. You HAVE to bring alcohol in your bag you walk on board with. Which can be heavy to carry…

Not that I saw.. maybe on the real cruises..
The ship restaurant is way too loud. I wouldn’t give it many stars for ambiance. Noise is awful while eating that kind of menu. You guys were too dazzled by food to notice. Also the waiter station is too distracting in middle of dining area.
The rest of the ship is extremely calm and soft in ambience, so dinner isn’t too crazy for that time you’re sat there

They don’t have the same tasting each day. Options can be whisky, rum, cocktails, champagne or wine but not all on every day.
The Euro trophy can’t come home to England when you’ve never won it before 🙄 god help us if they win we’ll never hear the end of it 😩 us Scots we’re just happy to qualify 😘

Wow.. Does that mean you have to pay for even water to drink on the cruise?... That is disgusting.. People need 3-6l day to stay hydrated.
Water is included but there are not many places to get it from
@@HannahRicketts oh that is a relief... I couldn't go somewhere where I wouldn't have access to drinking water.. I don't like much juice, fizzy drinks, alcohol etc
