Your style its not bad. A true cover for me (only in my opinion) is when one adapts the song to the point that it looks too much like the original. In other words, respecting the rhythms of the original opening and having an almost perfect closeness to that opening, giving me that essence and the feelings that I have when I see the opening with their visuals. I also play the piano, and I have the talent to adapt songs just by listening to them, the only thing that has always been difficult for me is to be able to make accompaniments using both hands, but as regards the song in general, I usually adapt it to that definition I have of a real cover. But do not worry, you're very good at playing the piano, but for me you do not do a real cover, what you do is an original style adaptation of the opening.
