  • Otto Moll was born on the 4th of March 1915 in Hohen Schönberg, then part of the German Empire. Following World War I, which ended on 11 November 1918, a number of right-wing extremist political groups emerged in Germany. One of them was the Nazi Party which claimed that the Jews had done much to spread defeatism and thus destroy the German army. They interpreted the terms of the Versailles Peace Treaty and the steep compensation payments that it entailed as revenge by the victors and a glaring injustice.
Beginning with the onset of the Great Depression, the Nazi Party rose rapidly from obscurity to political prominence, becoming the largest party in the German parliament in 1932, winning 33.1 percent of the vote. The Communists, however gained votes as well, winning 16.9 percent. As a result, the small circle around President Paul Von Hindenburg came to believe that the Nazi party was Germany's only hope to forestall political chaos ending in a Communist takeover. Nazi negotiators and propagandists did much to enhance this impression.
When on January 30, 1933, President von Hindenburg appointed Adolf Hitler chancellor of Germany, Otto Moll was 17 years old.
Three years later in 1936, Moll joined the SS after having graduated from the professional gardening school.
Otto Moll was musically active and became a member of the SS marching band. When during a journey with this marching band from Bernau to Oranienburg, the SS truck collided with a car, one SS man was killed, and Moll was critically injured. He was treated in Bernau Hospital for several months, suffering from a fractured skull and losing an eye. It has been suggested that his brain was damaged, too, and as a result he became a physically and mentally ill person who was deliberately exploited as a murderer by the criminal Nazi regime.

You should watch the Jordan Peterson clip on this kind of subject matter. Perhaps it seems a bit far-fetched?
Most of us would say "I would never be an Auschwitz guard!". What they did sounds absolutely evil to us. But we all have the capability of doing both: great good and also great evil within us. We can all be naive, we can all be manipulated. We all have it within us to view other human beings as subhumans for one reason or another.
I have seen interviews with Nazis and documentaries about Nazis like many I think what they did during the war was atrocious. But I also see these clips of old Nazi war veterans in the later stages of their lives and (for the most part) they seem like kind sweet old men, if you met them on the streets without knowing their stories you probably wouldn't think any different. But when you hear what some of them took part in during the war, it can shock you! You can wonder to yourself how someone who was once an innocent kid become a monster like that, and then how can that monster become a sweet, kind old man all in the same life time? And you have to wonder if that could happen to this person, who could it not happen too?
I have never met a Nazi soldier, a veteran of the SS, but I have known many US and Canadian WWII veterans. I am often amazed at their stories and have wondered many times how they could have done what they did during that war. I have wondered if I could have been the man that they were? But why shouldn't we ask the same questions of the ones who fought on the other side?
The Nazis brainwashed an entire generation of Germans. Even if you believed that what the Nazis did was wrong it would have taken an extreme amount of courage to stand up to it, and the risks would have been extreme. You would have been an outcast to even your best friends and family, most likely. Most people would not have risked the consequences of standing up to it. Most would have gone along with it. Many would have even become fanatical supporters of it. I see no evidence to believe, with what is going on today, to believe that, in these ways, human beings are that much different than the Germans of the 1930s and 1940s or any other stage in human history with regards to human nature.

I’ve been teaching high school history for over 35 years now. I teach an in depth unit on Holocaust history and literature. Every year, the number of students who believe it simply didn’t happen increases. This year one of my best students left me know that she doesn’t believe the Holocaust was that bad. Her parents actually complained to administration that I was teaching a Jewish lie. It’s heartbreaking for me to see how this younger generation either had no clue about or flatly deny the Holocaust. Something needs to change.

They described Moll's credentials as a narcissist psychopath well when they said that he walked the beautiful young women to the edge of the pits, whispering lewd things to them and "enjoying their fear".
That right there is a dead giveaway of Narcissistic Personality Disorder, along with the addiction to power and control, the lack of empathy and the dysfunctional attitude of entitlement.
Others would have seen the smug smirk of schadenfreude on his face, as his twisted brain received a bit of dopamine.
He was in a vulnerable-prey-rich environment, and he fed his addiction to his heart's content, as evidenced by his randomly picking up babies and shooting them, &etc.
Capricious and cruel, these people are incapable of changing because their overblown ego makes them right in their own eyes.
The flames of hellfire are the only future trajectory possible for these evil people.

There were so many perpetrators and so much confusion after the war these guys could hide in plain sight until the 50s or even 60s until the crimes were fully realized by the world. My Father's outfit took the prison {Birkenau}. On the way too it, they never took a German prisoner. He was a BAR man and he stood next to a 30 cal machinegun crew , covering the guards at the prison. Over 200 German SS was lined up along a wall with 3 machineguns guarding them. Each one had a BAR man standing next to them. There wasn't a dry eye among the American Soldiers there. Some vomited at the smell, and what they were witnessing. Prisoners were trying to break out to get to them..
Finally, they couldn't take it any longer and a shot was fired...Everyone fired, and all the guards was wounded. dead or dying. The prisoners broke out and got to them, finished off any still alive, killed every guard. My father said they were monsters and didn't deserve to live. He didn't feel a bit guilty doing it. The world has forgotten and the main character is an SS officer (which is now a general police detective). He spent the war on a uboat and knowa nothing of the holocaust. The point of the story is that no matter how deep you bury it a crime of that magnitude can never really remain hidden
