So, I was thinking... First about dreaming and the unquestioned discontinuity of events. Perhaps nothing more than the suppression of the ability to form long term memories. Though, I think that does not fully describe the phenomenon. I think it is also accompanied with the degradation of analytical thought. In that state, what is perceived in the moment is just accepted. Which leads to the idea that, in training the thought patterns which focus on the moment, perhaps we are training ourselves to get lost in the afterlife and therefore not be able to achieve reincarnation. That would transform a portion of the Buddhist teachings into a proliferation of a misunderstanding through teachings. The only escape being the cultivation of independent analytic thought to the point where it can override the tendency to get caught up in the moment. The second thing that stands out to me as I learn more about Buddhism is transformers. Specifically how power is transferred to the secondary winding. Karma, prayer, witchcraft, belief/faith. All of this is the same concept, though different mediums. Anyway, good presentation.
