    Well done! This simple project still has so many steps. You do a great job illustrating each.
    In the notes section, you could add details like the leather weight, the dyes and creams used, etc.

    What is the "BLACK" made of?
    What kind of glue/contact cement?
    What grit sand paper?
    What is the thread you are using?
    Any good videos showing how to stitch?
    Beautiful Wallet!
    Oh and where do you buy the little letters and such?

    • @SchutzReborn
      @SchutzReborn 5 років тому

      He showed the can of cement he used. The "black" is leather dye. I'm sure most people could figure out the answers to.most of your questions using a little common sense and a search engine.
      He put a video up showing how he does something, your comments almost seem like you expect him to come to your house and spend a week showing you exactly how to do each little thing. Come on!

    • @beepIL
      @beepIL 4 роки тому

      Dude don't put initials on such a thing, especially not a freaking bachelor party date of all things
      This kind of crap is what turns such an item from an every day quality product you can use, into something you stow away as a "keepsake" never to be looked or touched again by anyone until you die.

    • @PureToneMusic
      @PureToneMusic 4 роки тому +7

      @@beepIL Ok bud. Great advice without knowing the entire story of why the date is important to all of us as a group of friends outside of the bachelor party. But thanks anyways lol.

      @@PureToneMusic dont listen to him, can i suggest you look into leather foil heat stamping as well, the shine is great on black leather and after it fades (which will give it character as longas it fades evenly over time) can be rebuffed as a regular engraving with some antique and saddle soap. If you are ordering single pockets like this you can put them in your front jacket pocket with a folded handkerchief (possibly red against the black to display the initials for photos. Any kind of personality that you can put on leather only gives it character, the only way to make it crap like he thinks is if the person you hire does a bad job. My names on all my cowboy action equipment so i dont see the problem with a date and initials

      Thank you so much! I bought it quite a while ago through a shop on Etsy, I can't really remember the name and it doesn't seem to appear on my purchase history, I don't know why! But to be honest, I wouldn't recommend it, the quality isn't that great, the letters dont sit straight and I always have to stamp it on a bit of an angle.
      But they're definitely better than the individual punching ones from Tandy.
      If you want a quality set of alphabet stamps I'd suggest Hex n Hit, look for them on Instagram, they're a bit expensive but from what I've seen they're worth every penny!

    • @LouraLeather
      @LouraLeather  7 років тому +2

      They're something like this www.etsy.com/listing/224798675/full-set-26-alphabet-leather-carving?ga_order=most_relevant&ga_search_type=all&ga_view_type=gallery&ga_search_query=leather%20alphabet%20stamp%20set&ref=sr_gallery_25 , but Hex n Hit apparently also have a shop on Etsy so browse around there, they're not cheap but I'm thinking of buying a set for myself.

    I need to know how to make a genuine snake skin hat band. My hat is a really good quality leather hat. I recently acquired a genuine copper head snake skin that I really want to make into a quality band for my favorite Bullhide leather hat. Do you know how to do this? I don't know how old the snake skin is but it's really dry and I know it's uncured. Thanks for any help you can offer. It would be awesome if you were to do a video on this. Plus I'd send you my hat and snake skin if you want to make a video on this. There's absolutely nothing I can find on the subject. You could even embellish your own style on it. Also how much would it cost? I don't have a lot of money and I'm a Christian heavy metal musician. Thanks. God bless you.

    Nice instructional video. However I'm wondering why did you dye the leather twice? You could have cut out the raw leather to your specs, then dyed it all in one step? Yes, or am I missing something?

    • @LouraLeather
      @LouraLeather  5 років тому

      Sometimes when dyeing the leather it can get a little blotchy and because it's black dye I can dye it liberally and it won't affect the final result, if it were a lighter color I would've made an effort to dye it better on the first try ;)

      I bought it from an etsy shop, but I wouldn't recommend it, the T slot where you arrange the letters for stamping isn't perfect so when I'm stampong something I have to stamp it on a slight angle to make sure it comes out straight. You have a great company called HexNhit, they have amazing alphabet stamps, they're expensive but they're worth every penny!
