    Lucky man getting to play with new terrain - this beast is a goa artists dream. I am jamming on the dual precision VCO from Radical Frequencies, but I must say I heard sounds from the Mindphaser that seem more controlled and certainly a unique voice for any modular fanatic. Appreciate the video, I am considering a preorder.

    When recently looking for a complex oscillator, I took an opposite approach to James when checking out these demo's. I wasn't as interested in hearing demos with ONLY lengthy examples of raw oscillator tones, experimentation and the sound design aspects on their own, I'm interested in hearing how those features are actually used and incorporated into legit songs with legit song structure. I completely welcome the "Techno" examples you have shared. If it's being sold as a complex oscillator, it's a given that you're going to be able to use it for experimentation and sound design. But what I'm interested in is what the oscillator can do beyond those features. I've never owned a complex oscillator, and I was Iooking for something that was versatile. I found what I was looking for in the Mindphaser. I pre-ordered it, BTW. Looking forward to it arriving.

      It’s a great way at interfacing with your music. For myself, working on computers all day then coming home to Renoise.. I mean I still use it but I needed a way, I was falling out of love with it. Modular provided me with a meditative process that really de stresses me. Worth every penny..

    DAMN ! Is it that Module which is creating all of those wonderful Acid sounds? It seems that the Mindphaser module could be an all-in-one Synth Drone Voice if you just patch it into a Filter. Great in-depth tutorial you've done here! New subscriber~Ciao 💡🎵🔥🐾🌌🤙

    Enjoyed the video. I'm considering a complex osc to replace a basic vco to gain modulation options. Been looking at the cs-l, brenso and this module. I'm after an option that shines in ease when playing live. I can easily see the benefits of the octave switching, but I'm not sure about how this stacks up against the brenso for example. Aside from octave switching, do you think there are big differences to consider? I don't know enough yet about how or if the phase piece of this module is a big factor for making performing easier than say the Brenso. Great patch demos by the way. Really like the swing and rhythm.

    Got damn it. i was only going to have a 4 tier moog rack. with a DFAM mother 32 and 2 modular racks... I guess Morphagene has to go for this. Since i plan on having Arbhar... Don't want o have to add another rack....

      @@DashGlitch If you can, you should have both IMO. I was looking at a youtube video by Omri Cohen. Arbhar vs Morphagene. He dose a really good job at explaining the difference between them and why you should have both. I just prefer the way you can record into Arbhar over Morphagene.

    Other than the "techno" paradigm examples in this video, this is a decent use case with melodic examples. If we could just get these people to spare us the "techno" paradigm in other examples of eurorack module capabilities.

    • @DashGlitch
      @DashGlitch  3 роки тому +5

      Is "techno" not real enough music for you?

    • @moondog0468
      @moondog0468 3 роки тому

      @@DashGlitch No... that is not my point at all with my comment. Not all electronic musicians are interested in creating "techno" dance music. In the modular synth community the "modular artists" as shown in the "Patch CV - The Modular Synthesis Revolution" seem to be stuck in the 1990s. That is why I use the term paradigm. If all analog synthesizers can do is pump out more "techno" in ad infinitum, the medium is doomed a to be "dated" or worse "uninteresting" at some point in the future. Shouldn't a musician approach their instruments with the idea of creating something new to further the capabilities that lie within these electronic musical instruments?

    • @moondog0468
      @moondog0468 3 роки тому

      @@DashGlitch Lastly, what you are doing is fine if that is what you like. I just wish we could we had options for demonstrations without the "techno" paradigm being used to show the capabilities of new modular synthesizer hardware. I mean no harm in it and may your musical endeavors reward you in the future!
