This comes from a long gone era, when cars were built to last. It was not a good business for Mercedes because these things were never breaking down and they were over engineered so the profit margin was very slim. At the beginning of the 2000’s Mercedes’ quality started to decline. I own a 2007 w211 diesel and 2011 S212( W212 wagon) and the difference in quality is huge . The 2011 has so much plastic!!!
In some countries the safety inspection is pretty intense. Even some mild rust in the rockers is enough to keep it off of the road. You going to spend $2,000 on a car It's not even worth $1,000? It certainly does suck, but that's how a lot of this happens. Look at Japan, after a car is 3 years old it has to have a extremely extensive safety examination I believe it costs $1,000 every 2 years, once it's 5 years old it has to have that same safety inspection every year. Plus whatever the tags and registration costs. Other countries like the United States it varies state to state. But you'll see cars driving along with bailing wire holding the fenders on. As long as the lights and signals horn and emergency brake work they really don't care. And there are a few states inside the US where there's no inspection at all.

Best channel on UA-cam! Always great content what you guys put on. 😁
Had one of these until 2016. Almost a million kilometers on the clock, very economic car.
Man thank you for sharing this video and restart again this beast those cars never die ❤
ναι
12 years ago i was learning to drive on it i have the exact same MB and its still working, but rust doing its job slowly eating the hull all mercedes-benz cars suffering from rust. Keeping it in a nice dry garage. Now driving new one W222.
he did show engine side, air intake side must be dirty
This comes from a long gone era, when cars were built to last. It was not a good business for Mercedes because these things were never breaking down and they were over engineered so the profit margin was very slim. At the beginning of the 2000’s Mercedes’ quality started to decline. I own a 2007 w211 diesel and 2011 S212( W212 wagon) and the difference in quality is huge . The 2011 has so much plastic!!!
Undestroyable: Old Merc💪
spoiler alert: it just needed a battery
😂😂
in our country in Albania These are the best cars ..even today they drive them with more than 400+ kilometers...
That sound is unique.
All you need now is an Uber sign on the doors and you're good to go!
Oh wow a W124 with a diesel engine and a stick shift! I'd love to get my hands on one!
Beautiful car bro👌😍

Hello from russia, serbian bro
My parents had 190e. Still have fond memories about it
It’s such a shame all these previous owners just abandoned their Mercedes in the middle of a field instead of finding it a good home!!!!!!:(
Exactly, it's a crime :(
In some countries the safety inspection is pretty intense.
That's my favourite movie on your channel. " Mechanical Picasso" 💪💪
Nice running engine, stuck alternator fixed. Great video.
Mercedes are the best cars ever KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK FLEXINY 💯
It reminds me of the old days with my Mercedes Benz W124 300D 1993 😥😭😭😭
The 300D is the prefect engine for the w124...why did you give it away? 😧
@@thiemokucharczyk The stupid police blocked my W124 5 years ago. I went to a field who police blocked many many cars and when I saw my W124 in that condition I felt very sorry for my Mercedes. My W124 had 840000 KM and the engine doesn't make noise.
Hai fatto ripartire un relitto....complimenti
Old German engineering. It sounds as good as the first day.
My favourite model .I used this model many years .
Starting the engine is just one part. Other parts would have deteriorated and that will cost plenty.
TAHT's a MERCEDEZ! No smoke.No oil drop belching.Purring like a satisfied woman!
Bro, those steelies are awesome.
Keep up the work!
Excelente trabajo, hermoso vehículo!
old merc power indestructible will last forever
It started right up after you took the fan belt off. I can see why the alternator pulley was a bit stuck.
In countries that salt the roads in Winter, these can have severe rust problems. On mine, the rear internal wheel arches rusted through. The car was scrapped years ago.
Well, its a nice car i know but damn that tractor is beautiful!
Agree!!
I would love to know the model - rear engine tractors are not that many. We used to have a Fendt.
