Great information on clouds! I never understood about the vertical strokes and creating movement in clouds. Can’t wait to try these techniques. Thanks Kim!

Hello from California! Thank you Kim for your generous knowledge about the complexity of clouds and what we need to know to compose and paint these wonderful shapes.

Yes it is my first time to hear the vertical clouds are closer to me, which is very helpful

I found it very interesting to hear Kim describe the placement of the shadows beneath the clouds closest to the forefront of the painting due to the arc of the sky. Also the fact that shadows in the foreground would be warmer than those in the background which require more saturated blue and elimination of the yellow. Although I currently paint in watercolour I feel her suggestions apply just the same.
Thank you Kim. I have taken away many ideas from your demo.

I couldn’t watch this live but wow, I’m so glad I watched the replay! I learned so much. I used to do a lot of car painting years ago with a basic set of pastels which was limiting but fun! I planned to do it again esp on these backroads where I live. Cayuga NY.
Thanks so much for this! 🤗🤗❄️

Hello from southern Colorado. We have beautiful clouds here that I can practice on. The discussion of how grays change in warmth depending on distance was something I hadn’t considered even though I do with mountain and other features. A Wonderful and inspiring discussion and tutorial. Thank you.

If you asked me to paint a sphere on top of my beautiful clouds I'd be so upset :-D
Very useful lesson! I am sure my clouds are going to look better now, thank you!

Hi from North Carolina. I must have misunderstood, I thought Kim first thought she said the horizon clouds were farther away then she said they were closer. Will she explain again please. Thank you!

What colours do you have on your usual palate for painting clouds?

Thanks but would have been more valuable to me if we could’ve seen it done on a blank canvas. Was almost a finished painting.

Poor structure. Started with a painting to which she made some modifications to express her points. No presentation of the compostion ... what she was trying to do with the clouds, no mention of the sun, color, and angle of light, the sky... until much later. Lots of painting at the end without explanation. Seems interesting to know these at the beginning plus the medium, canvas, colors and mixes. However, she made good interesting points.

I never thought about car painting. There are clouds snowing over the mountain by my home in NM. Thought I new about clouds but learned about color temperature from Kim. Thanks
