Best Boss fight music was Sephiroth in Final Fantasy 7. Look it up. I think back to when I was 12 years old and had no clue of modern games to come. I had never been so excited by a game and still get nostalgic when I hear it.
My brother thinks that the Epicenter is crap. It's one of my favorite Grenade mods(while leveling up on Normal Mode) as it has the potential to clear masses of mobs!
One of the endgame activities in Borderlands 4 needs to be the Takedown at the Traunt Manor, where we face all the siblings General Traunt mentions in an ECHO log.
Probably nobody will see this, but I absolutely loved the chrono trigger soundtrack. Same with FFVI, zozo, kefka and robo gang johnny were some of my favorites
QOTD: Ludwig, The Accursed & Holy Blade. It's a Bloodbourne track and oh my GOD does it slap. Honorable mention is the Devil Trigger instrumental in Devil May Cry 5.
there are 3 answers for the question, for me personally, it's either raphael from baldurs gate 3, fatalis from monster hunter world, or midra from elden ring shadow of the erdtree. All of these pieces of music instilled in me the utmost terror, albeit in different ways, and I loved every second of them all and listen to them all casually
I think what happened with the shrinking devil and duct tape mod was you were immune to the initial explosion but died to the DOT damage (I've killed myself on Zane with the backburner in the same way many times). QOTD: Undertale is a masterclass on elevating storytelling through music and the use of leitmotif. Every boss fight has a track that sends you on an emotional journey as the boss's backstory and motivation unfolds. Chef's kiss. Similarly dark souls 3 in the soul of cinder fight, when Gwyn's theme from ds1 hits in phase 2, a wave of nostalgia washes over you. Absolute masterpiece of a fight.
The trick to using the spade is shoot at the ground before the enemy so the splash damage hits from the front, thru them and behind since the stickies will hit the ground. Fenix university lesson
Handy hint, if you equip ground loot on pickup it won’t autosell even if the rarity is below your threshold setting. I leave my autosell on uncommon but I can still pickup green and white items by equipping them off the bat.
Unsolicited random anecdote: I love the Sledge's shotgun. Its fitting. My old man was a big hunter, always had his 12ga 870 Express behind the seat. He upgraded to take a 3.5" magnum shells, painted it camoflage and put a composite folding stock setup on it, it was known as Sledge's Shotgun. His favorite tactic was to creep down a farm ditch unseen and pop up right in the flock of geese and unleash hell upon them, so he liked the compact but high power boom stick. The legality of it.... well, thats irrelevant to the story lol. My dad was the guy who wore the camoflage CarQuest hat to church... if that paints a picture accompanied by banjos twanging...😂 Think Early Cuyler, but intelligent with an engineering degree. 😂 Anyways... His nickname was Sledge, derrived from Sledzia or Sledja or however its spelled... its a Polish pickled fish dish, and he got the name cus as a kid he was digging through the trash looking for something that he thought his brother threw away on him, and the bag broke and he got covered in rotten pickled fish and the smell didn't wash off for a couple days. So my uncle dubbed him Sledja. It stuck and all his friends called him that his whole life, shortened to Sledge. So its got a special meaning to me. I still have Sledge's shotgun, it doesn't leave the house cus it turns out sawing off the barrel and adding a pistol grip with a magazine extension makes it less than federally approved, I been told. 😂 Somehow he managed to never have a DNR officer have a good look at it.
QOTD Never have I felt more fear in my life than when I started a fight with Raphael in Baulders Gate 3. The contrast it had with the other battle music just set the tone for the intense moment and it was really awesome.
QOTD: the Lightreaper music from the new Lords of the Fallen. The track reinforces that he's a powerful and relentless predator, ambushing your character with a teleporting three-headed dragon throughout the game. My honorable mention is "Rage of the Champions" from Castle Crashers. I'll never forget fighting a rampaging forest monster atop a wedding carriage
QOTD: Best boss music got to be that sweet, sweet serenade you get at the warrior in borderlands 2 from Lilith. I won't ever forget "The Lava is rising!"
QOTD: Destiny: The Taken King Regicide mission. When you're fighting Oryx for the first time, and that intro, music, etc kicks in you feel like you are actually fighting something serious
QOTD: Oh god this is like picking between my favorite children lol. There are some amazing boss tracks out there. The Pokemon games hold a big place in my heart for this, Maxie/Archie, Cynthia, Ultra Necrozma, Guzma, there's some absolute boss bangers here. From my favorite game Hollow Knight, I love the Mantis Lord's boss music, but Nightmare King Grimm takes the cake imo. In the Zelda games, the final fight against Wind Waker Ganondorf gives me chills every time.
Best Boss music from any game is "Throw away your Mask" from Persona 5 Royal. Second and Third place are "Jenova Lifeclinger" from Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth and "Those who deny the Dawn" from Octopath Traveler 2
So this is just a personal favorite of mine but Splatterhouse 2009/remake had one of the sickest needle drops in the world for one boss and made me an overnight fan of Five Finger Death Punch because of it. Was a super fun boss with an amazing song playing over it.
Killer Six are there any weapons that are so cool you wish they were good? Personally I love the idea of the Kill O' The Wisp, and if it were buffed to a usable level it would be my main weapon.
Qotd Best boss fight music I've heard in a really really long time is "Raphael's final act" from bg3. I'll turn that song on from time to time just to listen to it again.
for me the best boss music has to be Gehrman's boss theme from bloodborne. just such raw emotion throughout the whole fight, it will forever make me emotional when i listen to it, such a beautiful piece
QOTD ik I'm late on this but imma say hyperion from returnal. The build to him. Climbing that cliff to the music getting louder. Then seeing him play that organ. Perfection
QOTD: Probably Find The Flame, Away (even the 1987 remix), Eikonoklasm, Cascade, Titan Lost, Ascension from Final Fantasy 16. Hell, all the main boss OSTs of this game are top tier. Hell... the entire OST of FF16 is top tier 🔥🔥 Soken is a goat🙏🙏
Interesting idea for a new playthrough: Mission Rewards Only. Get things like the Big Succ, Whispering Ice, Cold Shoulder, Cloud Kill, any other mission reward guns/weapons. Class mods, artifacts, grenades and shields can all be normally bought, but everything else has to be mission reward only.
First thing that came to mind for best boss music in any game was Mohg Lord of Blood from Elden Ring. (There's just so many bosses in that game with amazing fight themes, it's hard to choose just one.)
Any time you use the Lob, I get happy. It’s my all-time favorite gun in the franchise and the more you use it and praise it, the more people get to see its glory.
I've scrolled through every comment at the time of writing this, and the one Pokemon answer stood out to me. But no one at all answered anything from Monster Hunter? That series has some absolute bangers. My personal pick would have to be either SIlver-Winged Star for Valstrax or Moonquake for Ceadeus phase 2.
boss music most iconic one that comes to mind is either dark souls 3 soul of cinder or One winged angel from Final Fantasy 7, both are iconic and One winged angel goes absolutely hard for no reason
The butcher and hellwalker was pretty much all used in my play through lol the trevonator was a major help along with the brainstormer? I can’t remember, it was a Hyperion
really hard to pick a fav boss music, but i've been playing baldur's gate 3 recently and the raphael boss music is freaking insane, you've got some epic opera playing in the background while fighting the freaking devil and then that freaking devil STARTS SINGING ALONG WHILE HE'S TRYING TO MURDER YOU!!! also if your companion named Hope dies, the boss says "now you are truly hopeless" so bonus points for that pun
QOTD: Smidge of bias here, but personal favorite boss music is "The Battle for Everyone's Souls" from Persona 3. It's such a good hype building song and really makes you feel like, "THIS is the final battle."
Best boss fight music is in Tales of Symphonia, the final fight with Kratos where you 1v1 him with Lloyd. I will give an honourary mention to the Magus fight in Chrono Trigger.
QOTD: Any version of Monster Hunters “Proof of a Hunter”, they make a new version of this song every game they release. Nothing gets me as hyped and pumped to finish a boss fight like when this song hits.
Best boss music is Vordt of the Boreal Valley, DS3 - not my personal favourite, but it's the most recognizable boss music ever - every time there's a "boss music starts" meme, it's Vordt's theme
QOTD: I really enjoy the boss music for the handsome sorcerer in Assault on dragon keep. The music matches the boss and theme very well, i have spent hours listening to it.
QOTD: Can't decide between Face of the deep (risk of rain 2:survivors of the void), You're gonna need a bigger ukulele (risk of rain 2), and double F*cking rainbow returns (risk of rain returns)
QOTD: I have to think about this one a lot, actually, because I am a composer and one of the areas I work in is in fact video game music. It's going to be a tie for me. I really, really like the Broken Vessel boss theme from Hollow Knight, more than I actually like the endgame boss themes. It works the main theme of the game into it so organically, and has that blood-pumping nature without becoming overwhelming or overselling itself. But... there's an absolutely immense amount of really quite amazing boss music in FFXIV, but if I had to choose one, it would be Sophia's theme (Equilibrium.) It's incredibly well written, and it once again strikes the sweet middle ground between being genuinely driving, really melodious, and not overselling itself.
QOTD: might not necessarily win the pinned comment, but an honerable mention would honestly be: Symphony of Boreal Wind - Andrius Boss Theme: Phase II (from Genshin Impact) (i always struggle with questions like this on the spot so i feel like i have a good answer at the tip of my tongue, but i just cant get it)
For the QOTD It’s One Winged Angel for Sephiroth and all the versions are great from the original to kingdom hearts to advent children they all give me instant dread and a feeling of “Holy Shit this fights goin to be EPIC” to proceed to get my ass kicked by the time they sing his name. Quick edit: Gilgamesh Battle in the Big Bridge was also up there basically what I’m saying is play final fantasy it’s worth it.
Love the polybius, just feels good to shoot. Shame it doesn't really work at endgame. But have you ever thought of making a shield version of your Allegience runs? Basically collect every shield. Could even have a tier list set up where you try a shield for a few minutes then rank it. A bloodletter Moze would probably be the ideal build for that kinda run. Sometimes I forget that there are more shields out there other than the infernal wish, re-volter, frozen heart and old god.
Best Boss fight music was Sephiroth in Final Fantasy 7. Look it up. I think back to when I was 12 years old and had no clue of modern games to come. I had never been so excited by a game and still get nostalgic when I hear it.
That's what I was going to say too, especially The Black Mages version, it's so damn good!
Sephiroth had a total choir. No beating that!
One Winged Angel is the song title
mate i came screaming into the comments to type One Winged Angel from FFVII. XD and the first thing i see is pinned sephiroth. rock on.
Sorry this one is a little later than usual. Had some breaking news with the whole Borderlands 4 announcement surprise and all.
My brother thinks that the Epicenter is crap. It's one of my favorite Grenade mods(while leveling up on Normal Mode) as it has the potential to clear masses of mobs!
Just wanted to say, thank you for sticking with BL3. So many people, myself included, love your playthroughs.
Damn! Last time I was this fast to something, my son was born 9 months later.
Glad I snuck out of the window before you got home!
😂🤣😆😂🤣😂🤣😆
One of the endgame activities in Borderlands 4 needs to be the Takedown at the Traunt Manor, where we face all the siblings General Traunt mentions in an ECHO log.
Probably nobody will see this, but I absolutely loved the chrono trigger soundtrack. Same with FFVI, zozo, kefka and robo gang johnny were some of my favorites
Captian Haunt Bloody Harvest is pretty freaking crazy
QOTD: Ludwig, The Accursed & Holy Blade. It's a Bloodbourne track and oh my GOD does it slap. Honorable mention is the Devil Trigger instrumental in Devil May Cry 5.
there are 3 answers for the question, for me personally, it's either raphael from baldurs gate 3, fatalis from monster hunter world, or midra from elden ring shadow of the erdtree. All of these pieces of music instilled in me the utmost terror, albeit in different ways, and I loved every second of them all and listen to them all casually
Best boss music is Hopes and Dreams from Undertale. (Megalovania also slaps but I like Hopes and Dreams more)
I liked heartache but it makes me sad whenever I listen to it ☹️
I think what happened with the shrinking devil and duct tape mod was you were immune to the initial explosion but died to the DOT damage (I've killed myself on Zane with the backburner in the same way many times).
10:44 QOTD: Honestly any of the Soulsborne Games have TOP TIER boss music (Particularly Bloodborne IMO). MGRR also has some slappers
The trick to using the spade is shoot at the ground before the enemy so the splash damage hits from the front, thru them and behind since the stickies will hit the ground. Fenix university lesson
The music when you finally arrive to kill Zeus in God of War 3 👌
Fan favorite of mine is "Bury the light" Vergil's battle music in DMC 5 or the Soul of Cinders boss fight in Ds3 both are good and feel impactful
I guess it`s classic answer already, but Metal Gear Rising Revengeance boss themes are just awesome
I'll always love the music from Captain Flynt in BL2. Absolute banger.
Captain haunts theme slaps so hard it's even on my Spotify playlist 😂
Duct tape mod doesn’t protect you from dot damage but does on splash
best boss fight music has to be gwyns theme from the original dark souls. every time I hear it, tears well up in my eyes at its beauty
Hobo with a shotgun one of me favorite throwback style movies wicked cool k6
QOTD: The Dancer of the Boreal Valley. Nuff said
Handy hint, if you equip ground loot on pickup it won’t autosell even if the rarity is below your threshold setting. I leave my autosell on uncommon but I can still pickup green and white items by equipping them off the bat.
Unsolicited random anecdote:
I love the Sledge's shotgun.
My dad was the guy who wore the camoflage CarQuest hat to church... if that paints a picture accompanied by banjos twanging...😂
Think Early Cuyler, but intelligent with an engineering degree. 😂
Anyways...
Somehow he managed to never have a DNR officer have a good look at it.
QOTD: Ultra Necrozma's theme from Pokemon Ultra Sun/Moon, Back when i was a kid this song absolutely stole my soul. To this day it still hits HARD
Sephiroth theme from FF7!
QOTD Never have I felt more fear in my life than when I started a fight with Raphael in Baulders Gate 3. The contrast it had with the other battle music just set the tone for the intense moment and it was really awesome.
QOTD :
Either "One Wing Angel" or "Feel the flames of Joey Ultraviolet" for me
In my opinion "hopes and dreams" and "Magalovania" both from Undertale deserve to be on a list of best Boss music
Not boss music, but bonus points for anyone that checks out 'Fun house' from Spiderman: The animated series, on genesis.
Best boss music (I know its not boss music) but the entire playlist from guilty gear strive is amazing.
Another thing I really do like about BL3 is the ragdoll you can get when using shotguns. It makes them feel powerful
QOTD: Destiny: The Taken King Regicide mission. When you're fighting Oryx for the first time, and that intro, music, etc kicks in you feel like you are actually fighting something serious

One Pump Chump is GOOD, but not great at endgame. Would love to see it buffed.
@@Ki11ersix The One Pump Chump is great, for some reason it just gets called the Hellwalker in endgame
@@BowtieFlumph lol
QOTD: My favorite boss theme is "Kings" from Project Wingman. It’s an 11 in a soundtrack chock full of 10s.
Qotd
Best boss fight music I've heard in a really really long time is "Raphael's final act" from bg3. I'll turn that song on from time to time just to listen to it again.
Metal gear rising revengeance's rules of nature is just yes
for me the best boss music has to be Gehrman's boss theme from bloodborne. just such raw emotion throughout the whole fight, it will forever make me emotional when i listen to it, such a beautiful piece
one of the most underrated guns in the game is the Host. comes in blue and purple. I use it a lot at level 72, especially with moze.
QOTD ik I'm late on this but imma say hyperion from returnal. The build to him. Climbing that cliff to the music getting louder. Then seeing him play that organ. Perfection
9:21 - I was wondering how the auto sale was going to effect pickup's that aren't legendries, and you answered the question perfectly. lol
QOTD: nothing beats plin plin plon.
The cartel music did get me into synthwave tho, will always love that.

2003 True Crimes. Final boss battle was to Deftones Minerva. It was epic.
Red suit with a radiation shrieking devil on a spiritual driver Amara was sick. Thanks Moxsy!
First thing that came to mind for best boss music in any game was Mohg Lord of Blood from Elden Ring. (There's just so many bosses in that game with amazing fight themes, it's hard to choose just one.)

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
Best Boss fight music, Ludwig or any bloodborne song tbh.
QOTD: Best boss music is Ludwig the Accursed and the Holy Blade from Bloodborne. That track has a fanbase on it's own.
QOTD: I know it don’t really count but the fable games have some of the most nostalgic video game music to me ever
QOTD: FF14 "Big Fat Tacos", it's actually Ruby Weapon Theme, but still.
I Like the Tool reference with tyrones head
Bowser's boss music from Super Mario 64 on the N64. So good
QOTD: It's odd, but Cynthia's Theme in Pokemon Gen4 is such an iconic piece.
a very nice Sunday gift
great stuff man, really enjoying this playthrough. QOTD best boss music, maybe its recency bias but the horde fight music in Days Gone.
Glad you enjoy it!
In my opinion, the music from the Sans bossfight in undertale. It's just very good.
spamton neo is imo the best boss music of all time
boss music most iconic one that comes to mind is either dark souls 3 soul of cinder or One winged angel from Final Fantasy 7, both are iconic and One winged angel goes absolutely hard for no reason
If you equip an item from the ground, you can override auto sell.

Best boss music is the Snake Eater reprise you fight The Boss to in MGS3
And ain't no rest for the wicked
Best boss fight music is in Tales of Symphonia, the final fight with Kratos where you 1v1 him with Lloyd. I will give an honourary mention to the Magus fight in Chrono Trigger.
Bonus points for mentioning the boss fight with magus. Chrono trigger is so nostalgic
QOTD: Any version of Monster Hunters “Proof of a Hunter”, they make a new version of this song every game they release. Nothing gets me as hyped and pumped to finish a boss fight like when this song hits.
Good way to handle auto sale is to auto equip the unique as well
Best boss music is Vordt of the Boreal Valley, DS3 - not my personal favourite, but it's the most recognizable boss music ever - every time there's a "boss music starts" meme, it's Vordt's theme
The best boss music has to be the Cynthia music from Pokémon diamond
Qotd.
Not necessarily a boss but the fulgore stage music from killer instinct is absolutely banging.
Oh man that’s waaaaay back
I would say captain haunt music it just fits
QOTD: I really enjoy the boss music for the handsome sorcerer in Assault on dragon keep. The music matches the boss and theme very well, i have spent hours listening to it.
QOTD: Can't decide between Face of the deep (risk of rain 2:survivors of the void), You're gonna need a bigger ukulele (risk of rain 2), and double F*cking rainbow returns (risk of rain returns)
Doom boss music is best music, pumps adrenaline and good tunes
Qotd:
Gotta be the plok boss theme
QOTD: I have to think about this one a lot, actually, because I am a composer and one of the areas I work in is in fact video game music.
It's going to be a tie for me. I really, really like the Broken Vessel boss theme from Hollow Knight, more than I actually like the endgame boss themes. Definitely the best flip ❤
I know I’m late to this QOTD, but I have to go with all of the music from Doom.
QOTD:
might not necessarily win the pinned comment, but an honerable mention would honestly be:
Symphony of Boreal Wind - Andrius Boss Theme: Phase II (from Genshin Impact)
(i always struggle with questions like this on the spot so i feel like i have a good answer at the tip of my tongue, but i just cant get it)
Brutal legend had some great boss music
The ultra necrozma theme from pokemon ultra sun and moon was pretty damn good
Qotd: i gotta say cynthia's battle theme, genuine banger
QOTD: The Legend Descends - Fatalis: World Version
QOTD: Twilight of the Gods from Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadow of Valentia
What do you guys think? 2 shots? The answer was one!
Well... It was a Jakobs!
Also nice air on that car flip!
Thanks!
I love borderlands but God dam the doom music 2016-2020 God dam is feel like I could kill for ever
Best Boss music would be from a Terraria mod called Calamity. Specifically Jungle Dragon Yharon or Supreme Witch Calamitas
Terraria music is so good
Love the polybius, just feels good to shoot.
Imagine playing as Sal and dual wielding 2 hellwalkers lol
QOOD: "Those Who Fight Further" from Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
I remember seeing hobo with a shotgun at Sundance film festival many years ago.
