Yes, you can wall from B Site Haven to Hell and kill enemies, and yes, you can make your own lineups for walls finally :o Now that there's some pretty bizarre inconsistencies with Phoenix wall creating gaps for some areas, it may actually be wise to create simple lineups to ensure there's no gap in your walls. I'll probably test the wall a bit more to see if I can find a 100% consistent way to remove gaps from walls. If someone else knows, please feel free to let me know :) Live - www.twitch.tv/xtr_val
I think there's a gap with the wall if you use it with an unpenetrated wall, i think the cause of that is the devs half-assed it and make it so the wall started in front of the wall, it doesn't go through it started after it goes through
To get rid of the gaps in Phoenix walls, you have to stand about that player length distance away from the wall when you cast it. You lose a bit of length on the wall, but it minimizes/eliminates the gap at the start. However, if you stand too far back that you start the Phoenix wall before the surface you are going through it will sometimes have a small gap. Basically there's a feel for the right distance from the wall to have 0 gap and it's something that Riot should definitely iron out.
yep, this is what i found from my testing as well; to put a finer point on it, i think you need the wall to spawn on YOUR side of the wall you are throwing it through. that way, it'll go through the wall, rather than just teleporting through the wall when you're too close to it it'd be nice if it was fixed to start in the wall but it is what it is for now
As a Harbor player it's really cool seeing all these new uses for Phoenix's wall now that he shares the pass-through-terrain mechanic with Harbor. Figuring out ways to use walls in close quarters situations has always been fun for me, and having that be paired with a flash is definitely a strong toolset.
5:54 "wall outplay potential" bro im a harbor main. wall plays are nuts. make em think you cross but swing in front of the wall and swing tight instead of crossing. shit works
I found the fix for walls, and can consistently have no gaps. 1. Be moving forwards when throwing but make sure you throw it before colliding with anything. 2. aim straight, don't look up or down. Additionally, moving left or right helps a bit, but doesn't work as well. Crouching/jumping doesn't affect it.
That would just mean standing a step behind the wall, like how u would anyway with phoenix or viper to eliminate that gap. Does running make a difference?
@@arvy7765 No, what I mean is let's say you stood a step back and threw it vs holding w and throwing it in the same spot. Holding W eliminates the gap but sometimes standing back there is a still a gap.
Phoenix wall might work kind of similar to how viper wall works. Basically Viper wall has those visible nodes on the ground right? If you get that close to the wall there probably won't be a gap, but if it's just inside the wall there's gonna be a gap. To get rid of those you basically just gotta know the correct distance to stand from every wall
I've tried the wall out of a main ascent, and it seems like walling at an angle to the wall solves the issue. You still do have to stand a few steps from the wall. Edit: only a small angle works
My guess for the gaps is, that the gap in the player model start is there when you stand behind a wall because it caculates the end of the wall as the beginning of the phx wall or rather it sets the start of the pheonix wall as the end of the map wall and the start of the phx wall inherently has a gap, so you have to stand so far away from the wall that the pheonix wall starts right in front of the map wall, then there should be no gap but the distance of the wall is thus compromised
ngl, i think the change from molly to flash for signature is probably also in part due to how busted ohoenix is with regen shield, imagine a phoenix with regen shield and free heal from the molly being signature and if you get a wall you;re gonna be so hard to kill
playing Phoenix and found an enemy Iso, I was like "this Iso will find his bane in this game." that shield be looking crunchy asf (if you're at the right range)
denying plant with wall is actually kinda nice if you dont have a molly line up, but also a molly lineup + wall might go crazy say tree to A main on ascent deny orb
using wall as a pseudo breach aftershock is definitely very cool WAIT, does that mean phoenix wall can solo KJ ult? Edit: valorant wiki says object multiplier is .5x and total damage is about 240, so not solo, but if paired with another damaging ability like Breach, KJ ult will be destroyed
They need to add voiceline to Phoenix when he bring out his flash like (not the usual after throw he gonna say the line), just let Phoenix do the voiceline whenever he bring out/attempt flash Gonna flash (will say always whenever he pull out flash) It's annoying keep getting blinded by Phoenix teammate
It feels weird having a duelist, designed for entering site have util to clear spaces BEFORE entering site. Raze is similar. Makes initiators less relevant.
I think that in at least half of the areas of the maps, that gap in the wall is not an issue if you throw it in a way that makes the gap hard for the enemies to peek/shoot through. For example, walling off Switch on A Site in general makes it where it doesn't matter if there is a gap or not, however if you don't want the enemy to potentially peek through your wall as quickly, then yeah you will have to figure out some way to remove that gap since you'll want the wall further from the enemy's playing area, in this example that being Tree.
Yo xtr bro I think the wall can even delay in postplant by taking the defuser off but I think they might still be able to defuser it from sides. Or maybe we need to plant it on the edges and then chill with wall molly lineups
Walls not that great tbh yeah it goes through walls but everything you showed was like you stopping util because ur wall damages him? If I throw it and miss he still uses Skye dog or whatever util etc gekko ult etc

my theory is that the wall has invisible "canisters" like viper wall, but whenever one of those goes inside a wall it despawns, creating a gap
nah its a very obvious feel
I think it wasn't shown here but can't you now destroy sentinel util with this wall mechanic?
Yes you can break Cypher trip with the wall iirc
You alr could, now it’s easier

Yea that’s also how I think it works, kinda like when a viper wall goes through elevation it’ll have holes
so those viper wall dots and fade tracer dots are actually a thing? interesting
we got PHOENIX LINEUPS, before GTA VI
We just threw the molly on the spike we never learned those lineups
Haven't seen a xtr video in a long time. I remember when Valorant first came out and your candid guides came in clutch! Great video

Im so glad that phoenix is now one of the most balanced agent in the game.
These buff made phenix now perfect and it's not op like the buff with neon
i might need to start playing phoenix. he looks rly strong rn in ranked :D
1:56 describes me playing Phoenix before watching xtr
Wow good stuff. Def gonna try the wall tech
3:10 Correction: Yes, you can control the wall gap, just move a little away from the wall and it disappears
Can’t wait to see 40 mins of Phoenix Wall line up
Those walls usage are cool. My current problem is I’m fumbling my utility after they switch flash and molly 😂😂
Thanks for the video, it was great!

I think the wall gap's purpose is that it does not start heal instantly
Also in 1 case when I passed through the wall late it only healed me 45
the highest amnt of kindness riot ever showed to phnx 🙄🙄 (still with a bug 🐜)
Bug isn't gamebreaking at least, just can be unlucky at times :(
Wall makes an annoyingly big hole if you throw it wrong though😔
i swear sometimes the wall is dissapear
W technology. Well played xtr, well played.
Letting Blaze go through walls is the best Phoenix buff and I hope Riot doesn't nerf it.
I played with you two days ago. We got absolutely shit on in a Split lobby, but you’re the goat and I love you
@sebashchin7015 Is this my goat Larry?
Gj on that video. My thoughts about the wall- can you slow them down while creating like harbor?
Omfg, I didn't even think about cancelling initiator recon util
Ok i did not think of using wall like molly!!! I only use it for cutting angles 😮😮
You can break cyper trips too fyi as you can here them in ascent b lane
using wall as a pseudo breach aftershock is definitely very cool

(9:26 how did you jumped off the heaven without taking any fall damage??
After 25 distance the molly of Phoenix automatically falls to the Ground making lineups rly easy.
Can you break a kj ult using wall? Like break the haven a short kj ult from b or something?
They need to add voiceline to Phoenix when he bring out his flash like (not the usual after throw he gonna say the line), just let Phoenix do the voiceline whenever he bring out/attempt flash
Gonna flash (will say always whenever he pull out flash)

mini harbor wall that does damage
No its a slowing effect.
Playing Harbor since release as main.
@@DavidBerger-g2h he's talking about phx wall
Wall so good it stops me from sleeping >.>
i would love to see a lineup to break chyper and kj util
Ping wall with util, throw wall parallel.

gracias bro aprendi nuevos trucos
The gap in the wall will most likely get patched. I highly doubt this is intentional.
oh wtf I didnt think you could use it like that
Send this to PRX
1:55 uhh- I can't - flash
stealing these walls for my viper play ;)
VCT team is taking note
or just throw the wall straight at the enemies to deal damage like in his PV
we got pocket harbor
I clicked so funking fast
They will patch the gaps
are you shroud? sounds like him

I think the gap in the wall makes sense from a balance perspective, like hes not harbor right, but its so not obvious and your teammates wont know
Nope
It would make sense if it was consistent
6th comment just saying hi

whats a goog phoenix eco guide?
In defensive maps like ascent or lotus it's a good idea now to buy regen shield, either that or try the usual molly+fonda combo
