I'm so glad I ran across this channel. I am really interested in Harley Benton guitars. I have a Schecter with the active pickups and love the way it sounds. Some of these guitars are really nice looking/sounding. Awesome video!!
Thanks ! This one can be compared to a Schecter Sun Valley Super Shredder except it doesn't have a floyd rose (but I think it will come soon). The neck is 1mm thicker than on Schecter's thin necks, and they really sound good ! On this one, the roasted maple neck is amazing and eventhough it's a bolt on neck, you have a lot of sustain. Great value for the money.
@@ToroKchannel I had looked into that Schecter guitar. Thank you so much for the comparison. I feel that for this price the HB will be my choice. Plus there are several colors I'm exited about. Thanks again..
I want to complement you on your chanel. I think you are the best metal minded guitar reviewer on youtube. I just ordered this guitar based on your review. Cant wait to try it out.
Great video again my friend. Keep up the good work. If HB decide to do a lefty I might well end up with 4 Tele shape guitars 😁. Then again, I do also like the shell pink one they do as well...
Thanks ! As usual with Harley Benton, I'm sure they will come with lefty versions for the second or third batch. Hope the shell pink will be available for you :)
No problem my friend. Excellent work. Yeah, would be nice to have more lefty options but hey, ho… it’s getting better. Much better than when I started playing in the early 80’s. It was Strat or Les Paul shapes and that was pretty much it.
hahaha I knew you had to review this fusion emg 😁 EMG & black. wow i really wasn't into aktive PUs but THIS makes me reconsider... i just don't "need" another guitar 😅
Of course I had to ! As I have to get my hands on the new Amarok EX - when it returns, and it sounds like several months will spend until it does. But yeah, those EMG Hot 70 are amazing ! IF you find some Super 77 - Hot 70 are notoriously hard to find in Europe - they're a good choice too, the only difference is the neck pickup will come with ceramic magnets instaed of Alnico. Another way to recreat the set is buy the Super 77 bridge PU and the Fat 55 neck PU and there you are ! Now, for sure, you don't need more guitars. I never needed to have 14 guitars but, well, I have them :)
It's crazy right? I've always hated the "Tele" shape... until I hit 50!. I now have 3 Tele style guitars, the Harley Benton TE-40 (modded with EMG 57/66), a Chapman ML3 Pro Modern (which the HB being reviewed by ToroK is very similar to) and also a Custom one made for me by the very talented J Davey Guitars. The more modern take on them has helped their popularity immensely.
Well I had never played a Tele shape in 25 years, so I thought it was about time :) You're right when you say everybody's going for T shape and I think that's because several brands have made it look more modern and still sober. I really don't like the classic T at all, but this modern take on it is cool. And the playability is really very good !
Love the matte black finish and all blacked out body. If they're not doing so, they should also offer this with an ebony-like slab board and matching matte-black headstock. The silver logo would really pop on a matching headstock, though the placement of of their name logo should be moved down a little. They've done a great job with the aesthetics on a modern tele.
This Fustion T looks simple but definitely great ! The tuning stability is really good thanks to the canadian maple neck and that's a feature you won't find at this price on any other brand.
Thanks for the review ToroK! These seem like really nice guitars for the incredible price. Great review, man! I am a Schecter player, but this seems like a great deal for my students! I checked out the rest of your channel. Great stuff! Glad I found your channel about good guitars for good prices.
Thanks Yetimatze ! Well yes I thought Beethoven's ode to joy could sound a bit different with some other chords. I'll do more stuff like this, that's a lot of fun :D
I think no big brand can challenge Harley Benton on the price chapter. That's because Thomann builds the guitars up and sells them, so there's no distributor mergin. Those top of the line bentons are becoming better than better eventhough I still prefer the neck shape of my Schecters.
It dodn't strike me when I was playing but it looks like you're right, the bridge pickup is pretty far away from the bridge. Now, too far ? Well since the guitar sounds very good as such, maybe this distance between bridge and pickup is the good one :)
Pretty sure they will, but don't ask me when, I have no idea. The only thing I can tell for sure is when the 7 string version arrives, I will get my hands on it and review it :)
Salut torok!!!!
Both are very good, so I understand why you can't decide. For metal the EMG Hot 70 are amazing but not only. The clean tones are good too and with a soft overdrive they're doing a good job. You can really play everything you want with tose EMG Hot 70, and you will always have something sharp. Now if you want some clean and crunch that sound a bit more fat, better go for the Fusion III HH HT. The Roswell HAF that's in bridge position doesn't sound bad at all, eventhough you will not have the same note definition as on the EMG, but maybe you can change it for a seymour duncan distorsion or something like this and keep the neck pickup with its alnico magnets for blues and jazz. Hope this helps :)
@@katebush8415 to sound close to John Frusciante's Tele you will need a split function. So the Fusion III HH HT Roasted is a better choice for you. I can't see a better guitar. Those Harley Benton could be sold for twice their price if they were labelled by another brand !
@@ToroKchannel oh does it already have the split function? Or will I have to change coil split the humbuckers? Also are those pickups any good and what would be an upgrade? sorry for so many questions it's just a lot of money for me so I'm having hard time deciding.
@@katebush8415 yes it does have a split function. The stock pickups are not bad at all. Enough output for metal, enough fat for blues, enough brightness for jazz, I think you won't have to change them at once.
