+James Bos , Yes! I was just thinking the same thing. Poor cops :( They are so brave to be standing there. Isn't it difficult for them to breathe with all that smoke? Shouldn't they have masks on?
Lia's Loft Oh okay, good. Thanks. I really hope everyone gets out alive. I know it will be really painful to lose their homes, but still hope they all get out alive.
Brian, Mike, Grace, and Joseph... my friends at the Vantage Inn I hope that I will be able to come and visit my second home.. the Vantage Inn. I hope everything works out for you. I glad to see the place is still standing. You guys have made my extended work-trips away from my family feel like home.!
No reported deaths due to the fires so far. As a fellow Albertan, this makes me think of how lucky I am to not have to go through this. I'm speechless...
+andmikke Fort Mcmurray is home to very well trained and safety conscious people. any other city would have been panic and that intersection would have been one big pile up
Because look at the time it's 2 in the morning people were sleeping and this guy (there is an interview you could find about this) got a phone call from a friend...most people were sleeping don't forget that.
+ak47rocks1337 the evacuation was around supper time. the sun is still up but it looks like night because of the smoke. the wind shifted and the fire switched directions.
I was evacuated and it was a very scary day. I had to evacuate beacon hill just like the guy in the video. I hated it. Worst day of my life. As ashes fell from the sky and flames kept spreading, my eyes filled with tears. Luckily I got out safely but I lost my home and all of my belongings. The only things I had left were the most important people to me, my mom, dad, and my cat charger. I had to get pulled out of school when this happened and when I got out me and my bestie hugged each other and said that we hope me and her could see each other again. This event in my life still scares me to this day. Now I have anxiety and I don’t feel well when I’m around fires. Even campfires. It was like driving through hell. I moved back and my house is rebuilt but it’s not the same. Before I would look out and not be able to see abasand because the trees were filled in but now I can because all the trees are burnt. The main thing is that everyone hopefully got out safely and that no one got hurt.
I don't think they know exactly. Probably caused by a human though. Could be a power line, winter holdover, campfire, etc. Even if they knew specifically who caused it they probably wouldn't want to say anything cause no person or company would ever be able to foot the bill for this.
+especiallyapaint if it by a human, and if it was a stupid reason, I'd be fucking pissed because not only are countless life's, homes and firemen on the line, my dad has to deal with all the people from Fort Mcmurry coming here for evac.
If it was a human and they find out it was him/her for sure. Then they should be sentenced to death. This is a situation where the death penalty should be handed out.
Wow. That is terrible! Amazing video though, I just wonder why people were still there with it that close to them? Did it suddenly shift or just come on too fast?
+cottagechskitty I figured as much. I really hope these people all got out in time. Scary to see how bad it turned. Why is this not all over the news down in the lower 48? As law enforcement myself I can also appreciate the first responders seen in this video doing their jobs and staying behind to keep others who are fleeing safe when I'm sure every bit of their mind is telling them to run as well.
Yeah I see comments of people saying, I'd be driving over the curb, and stuff like that. But it was the same with with Slave Lake, no one panicked and they stayed in line with the over vehicles. And seeing the everyone got out there and in Fort Mcmurray it is obviously the safest thing to do. I guess people have more sense than sometimes we give them credit for.
Ever watch a small fire in your backyard, and notice that every now and then, the dried wood would release some flaming sparks into the air? Yeah, this is that.
+miketheshadow during this time of the year it usually rains a lot therefore wildfires wouldn't have been much of an issue. This year though , it hardly even rained which means that everything around that area was dry as fuck, it also happened to be extremely windy which is how this fire was able to spread so fast and become so large. Global warming is starting to become a serious issue and if people aren't gonna do shit to help decrease its effects then they should be expecting more natural catastrophes such as this... Just thought I should point that out.

I know that if I saw a giant wildfire even 20 miles away from my home and was told it was uncontrolled I would be packing up everything valuable and making plans to go somewhere else until it was put under control
Am really sad for this people, the victims, their lost. I feel shame, not been able to do something. I don't have much money, but I would offer to them my hand, if I could get a ride there
So, I see a music video for a song called "Hotter Than Hell" below this video on the trending page, and ABOVE this video on the trending page, I see a music video for a song called "I Need A Forest Fire". WTF 😨😲
+Mr. Crouch Thats the oil sands town in Canada, 2 million barrels a day most go to the USA , but hey you guys dont want the keystone pipeline so get your oil from the middle east
Pretty heroic cop out there in the sparks and smoke doing a necessary job.

My prayers go out to the people who are going through this. Freaking scary
Oh man, I feel awful for the Police who are out there inhaling all that smoke, just to direct people.
+James Bos
Oh shit.
They make over a hundred grand a year to drink coffee and hand out tickets and bust druggies.
Time the went to work.
+James Bos , Yes! I was just thinking the same thing. Poor cops :( They are so brave to be standing there. Isn't it difficult for them to breathe with all that smoke? Shouldn't they have masks on?

Imagine people with resp conditions

Yeah :(
You didnt put the link to the original video in the desc.
It's always that deer that runs in front of the white van at the 0:08 mark that gets me.
Omg those poor people.
I've been stressed out while driving in a bad snowstorm before. I seriously can't imagine something like this.
God Bless the Canadians, they're great people. I hope there's no deaths or injuries.
How did this fire start??
Welcome to anywhere on Earth, circa 2110.
More like after trump gets elected for presisdent
+mr bioproductions possibly
+Simon Carlile We won't have to wait that long.
The scene at the beginning was terrifying.

I'm crying right now just lookin at my province like this but stay strong fort McMurray
why are emergency responders not wearing respirators. smoke and dust inhalation for 7 months in Afghanistan still effects me 5 years later
+Mike Schumacker Serve and protect. At least it seems most Canadian officers still live by that motto.
It's so tragic, dear lord I hope this fire ends soon.
what's the dashcam?
My condolences go to those who lost their lives.
No reported deaths due to the fires so far. As a fellow Albertan, this makes me think of how lucky I am to not have to go through this. I'm speechless...
Damn. The beginning reminded me of This Is The End
My heart goes out to my friends and family living in the area. I hope we can get this out before it displaces more people!
Alberta will overcome,God bless Alberta.
+nicumecu G put that fire in the first place!
CITE YOUR SOURCES!
You mean the Courtasey of MICHEL Chamberlain that was at the top left 3-4 seconds in?
@@babygirlzmommy lol shut up
Wow ... i am impressed over the "no panic" situation!
+andmikke
Fort Mcmurray is home to very well trained and safety conscious people. any other city would have been panic and that intersection would have been one big pile up
sooooo why exactly did all these people wait until the fire was literally at their doorsteps before they evacuated ?
Because look at the time it's 2 in the morning people were sleeping and this guy (there is an interview you could find about this) got a phone call from a friend...most people were sleeping don't forget that.
+ak47rocks1337 , Oh no. :( Sad.
+ak47rocks1337 the evacuation was around supper time. the sun is still up but it looks like night because of the smoke. the wind shifted and the fire switched directions.
Phil Monachan
Scary!
they didn't it, happened so quickly it even jumped a river
Absolutely incredible.
It kinda looks like what you would imagine a zombie apocalypse to be like. I hope they can get rid of the fire soon, it looks horrible
Now's the perfect time to use Tesla's bioharzard mode. Filters the air 100%.
+Jake Day Williams lol it would probably clean up the air for those cops a little bit if every car had biohazard mode.
I see what you did there heh
What happened?
Pray for Canada
+Omer Hussaini yes they are rough times. I live in the USA
Feel terrible for the animals as well, the deer running at the beginning is so sad.
+Justin , Yeah. So sad. :(
In that part of town almost everything is gone. The fire burned so hot the rims on vehicles turned to a molten puddle on the ground.
stunning and beautiful . wish i was there

RAINING BLOOD FROM A LACERATED SKYY!
How did the wildfire happen?
just if it is dry and the sun gets to hot it causes a fire
I don't think they know exactly. Probably caused by a human though. Could be a power line, winter holdover, campfire, etc. Even if they knew specifically who caused it they probably wouldn't want to say anything cause no person or company would ever be able to foot the bill for this.

Wow. That is terrible! Amazing video though, I just wonder why people were still there with it that close to them? Did it suddenly shift or just come on too fast?
+Michael Belloli It spread incredibly rapidly

Very dry and windy, little fire becomes the monster you saw in the video.

All the trees...all the trees man. Would Fort Macmurray ever be habitable again once the blaze is fully out? It just keeps spreading.

Now someone tell me Global Warming isnt a serious issue.
so if I light a fire that's global warming? you have flawed logic.

OMG, The animals !!! People can scape but animal are always left to die.
I didn't know they had blue traffic lights in Canada. Maybe it's just the smoke...
These are all the people that didn't take the news reports to leave seriously.
I know that if I saw a giant wildfire even 20 miles away from my home and was told it was uncontrolled I would be packing up everything valuable and making plans to go somewhere else until it was put under control
They had no time to prepare the fire came out of nowhere for the area
That's not OK. The earth needs to chill out

My mixtape is straight fire
Am really sad for this people, the victims, their lost. I feel shame, not been able to do something. I don't have much money, but I would offer to them my hand, if I could get a ride there
