That biker looks to be flinching in pain from the heat, I hope he's okay.
+Cora King Yeah, I'm surprised he didn't just ride the sidewalk out. I think people would have understood.
I would have broken into someone's window and find something to cover my face with lol
i want to know how he can balance that bike with those massive cohones.
Time to go! Should have just rode the sidewalks....
Wish He had his own record escaping those wildfire with that motorcycle..🔥😳
having to go through this when i was 11 years old was beyond anything i can imagine, the trauma didnt really settle in until later thats for sure.
I was in third grade the thing i was scared most about was my dad my uncle came to take me my mon and my brother and my dad stayed back to help evacuate people i wasnt sure if he would be safe or not but thankfully he was
@@nasher6356 I’m glad you and your family are alright. You were even younger than me, I can’t imagine how it affected you.
Bruh I remember when it went down i was in grade 8. At 1 the sky was so clear like not a cloud in sight but then at 2 the sky was red as if there was an apocalypse. Literally I came out of school to see abason burning. I’m kinda glad that we had to evacuate cause I didn’t study, Would have failed 😭. The sad part was the girl who died that day I saw her entering my class the day before.
Glad you made it out lil bro, I remember I was in grade 10 when this was happening, was always praying for everyone there
@@nasher6356 Same here
No one seems to be panicking. True testament to Canadians. So glad no ones been hurt!
Trust me everyone was in such a state of panic it left so many mental scars to almost everyone
@@zanefromninjago6058 you could get PTSD just from the footage... so glad everyone got out alive from this 🙏
Oh trust me when I say we pannicked

Its like end of the world
Yeah
+Mn “MasenGames” Gs really? a zombie joke?
sounds good dont it
Zelong Liu ya but at my home.
Actually, the end of the world happened on September 11, 2001, and as a result of all the chemicals that were released into the air, alot of natural disasters have been happening in the years following, including Fort Mac.
Hell on earth.
+Josh Houston
Worse.
That so many people escaped without harm is a testament to the heroism of the first responders. But , also to the evacuees themselves. It takes courage and a level head, many level heads, to go through something like that and still maintain your wits. They are all heroes in my mind.
Tysm I was in that nobody died
@@amandamurphy-qp2vj My nephew was as well 😔💔He lost his home, everything.
How terrifying this must have been
+Manon Boucher
You have to see a real wildfire to believe it.
It roars. And howls. And explodes.
I never want to see another one.
I saw mine when I was about 9 years old.
I know what these people went through.
Manon Boucher it was very scary. I went through it too. I was in the same area as this guy because I lived in beacon hill too. My house was burnt and I was 9 years old when this happened. I’m now 12 years old and it still scares me. I hope everyone else is ok. And on my way out I saw the gas station explosion
Les Brown did you go through this one too? Or was that a different one. Because I was 9 when this fire happened.
I had a panic attack while that happened, how fun isn’t it?
Miranda Mercer i was 8 when that happened
Its like driving through hell...
Already knew that way before your comment
Bowens92 and?
When this footage came out I said it was only a matter of time before Climate Change created a firestorm that kills 1000+ people. I never would have thought it would happen on the tropical rainforest that is Hawaii. One of the Hawaiian island receives 460 inches of rain each year.
One year later, the footage and interview are still terrifying! ❤️
The best of Canada: they're fleeing a wildfire, and still take turns entering the traffic stream. Respect.
It looks like an actual real life Hell.
Already thought of that way before you even thought
"Now this is what hell is like, I'm not afraid of it anymore"
These videoes make me so so so thankful for our fire fighters and police force. I'd do anything for those people for what they did for us and all the wonderful people of Canada and around the world that supported us through that nightmare.
I was there, cleaning up the mess.. what those firefighters did while we were there is just plain heroic
I look around now at these videos.. realizing we’re lucky that the fire never reached our house and we’re safe. I’m very grateful for everything.. thank you so much firefighters.
i lived i fort mac for 8 years. i was there left alone while my parents went to go fight it
respect on you and your parents.
I still can't believe this was 5 years ago.The houses I grew up in, burnt down, and my dad had to evacuate work. He sent me a video of the 50 ft flames on both sides of the highway, and my grandparents left because the house they had purchased in waterways was gone. Fire doesn't care, but people do.
Astonishing. Like driving into an erupting volcano...
I remember this event, and next thing u know a few months later the place was flooding ..I said why could that rain not come sooner
It's been 6 months now #FortMacStrong
my cousin was one of the last cars out
+xZizk-
Glad they made it.
Someone had to be last.
I can lie too I was the last human to make it out alive and guess what?
It was worse than hell.

Hi, I am your neighbor
I saw a deer!! Poor thing 3:14
Your eye's are playing trick's on you.
@@icbm859 No thats def a dear...poor thing was so confused...it ran towards the fire.
HHHmmm :)
Where? Oh i see i hope it is still alive if i was there i could just get the deer bring it to my car then treat it like a pet
Watching back at this is crazy because I lived through that traumatic experience. When it started getting bad I was at school waiting for my mom to pick me up to evacuate.
2 years ago.. That was the most terrifying moment of my life. :):
i'm sorry what these people had to go through, i know it was hard to leave their home, but they had to for their own safety :^(
My home burned. I lost everything but the clothes on my back.
im in quebec and seeing this feels like hell
I don’t know why I still watch these videos, other people say “oh they are okay thank god”
No, we’re not okay. We weren’t okay we’re still not okay people are still bothered by this, thousands of people aren’t oksy
yeah I was in the middle of the fire up in Wood Buffalo, i still watch these videos just to come back to the disaster.
This was easily the worst thing I have ever went through in my life. Not to mention having both of my vehicles stolen days prior
That's a pretty high quality dash cam there.
First off I thought, Jez that bikers driving dangerous, but when It showed the rear cam I instantly understand why. That would of been unbelievably hot
There's a really good book by John Valliant called Fire Weather about this fire. If you're not a reader, you can still pull up videos of him discussing the book. Very important book.
One of those jeeps are my aunties
Yeah no……I’d be wrong lanes of traffic, hopping on the sidewalk….anything to escape that!
I was so little I had no clue what was going on
same here bud
My dad went through the exact same as this footage. Took us 6 hours to reunite on what would have usually been a 30 min drive.
We lost everything.
This was horrible. Everyone was so scared
jesus christ! it is so shocking!
How did it happen that no preventative measures had been taken???? Why we usually had a wild ire during the mid summer and now it happens as soon as the temperature rises up?
They were even so post to make another road after this but it wasn’t even made. Everyone still had to evacuate through one road.
the world......... is in trouble. deep trouble

sorry about all this .
God bless to all people out there!

BRO THE FLAMES WERE PURPLE WTF
at the 2:!5 mark....everyone is getting out and the firefighters are going in ....amazing!
It makes me sad whenever a forest burns. That beauty gone.
Why, Canada?
I don't miss Canada
I was in that fire, and my best friend's house was burnt down
where in god's name was that RV going??? i pray they were OK
"I can't imagine going on a motorcycle." Lol that would have been the best way, can weave in and around the backed up traffic.
I'm literally in the comments to see if there's an update on the motorbike dude. He'd have gotten major burns, at least!
3:54 wonder what happened to the truck and trailer that split off..
He jumped on The Highway To Hell
How is the fire that close yet he didn't know to evacuate until someone called?
Fire came over the town pretty quick within 30 minutes most of beacon hill was covered in flames witch area of town this guy was. beacon hill was it the hardest pretty much all gone.
Like the other comment says it spread SUPER fast from the winds. It was nearly too late by time it happened
I can't stand bumper to bumper traffic when the sky isn't on fire raining embers, i can only imagine how furious I'd be when it is...
at 4:56 people are making their own road
5:00 - 5:06 look closely as theirs a dog that passes by and runs into the fire :(
No, just embers blowing. Phew!
Not to mention the white car slams on his breaks bc the dog is passing the road.@@smyatt1
omg is the guy riding motorcycle still ok?
I was there at the age of 5 and I was absolutely tarified
Who caused this......a Nero personality-person!!!???
Natural wildfires, Alberta has tons of wildfires each year
you guys know what happening? Some of them cant leave this city, many of them leave to the edmonton and calgary.
Just imagine what would happen if they kept reposting and didn't give credit to the OP

The family photo album, gone.
+Casey Bowman Sorry to hear that, just be glad that you're alive.
Oh sorry, a little misleading, I was referring to the family album as something of great value and if that gets burned up,what is the personal loss can't be measured.
As soon as it's out replant trees!!!!!!
This is awful, terrible thinking how this is happening...And, despite many years of destruction, nobody will dare to speak up and tell that this town shelters thousands of people like the one being interviewed that has contributed to the destruction of the largest area of Boreal forest in history, turned into an apocalyptic landscape forever... This might be karma I would say and is very unfortunate but we have to face that nature is claiming a payback...
+Pehr Hedstrom Oh no, you are getting me wrong all the way. I totally am with you defining what the evangelists said about Katrina as an absolute nonsense, but listen to what is happening in the media and re-read my words, my statement works from a perspective of moral disobedience, we, the human race are playing a foul game against nature, against earth and against ourselves, and that my dear friend, has a cost and has nothing to do with religion. I am an atheist-agnostic sort of guy. and believe me, I live in a 55K people city in Manitoba and when I heard about the possibility of Fort McMurray being obliterated by the fire, I deeply cried. I feel for all those citizens, but some questions must be raised no matter the political correctness or the impact of the moment...
+denny loverin I totally hear you there. I have kept mentioning chentrials for a long time, even in my radio talk shows and my channels, but nobody listens, people rather to believe the brainwash crap of msm like CBC...
Very beautiful
the trauma i developed from it isnt very beautiful
@@cas348 true but it still looks cool
I used to live in a small town called Bethany. It was a thriving community with rail sidings and 4 story hotels for the guests and summer help on the farms. The town burned twice as anyone who read the book The Rolling Hills of Manvers by Emily Car. When i lived there the rail sidings caught fire twice and the whole town showed up to put it out. We built back fires, that's where you burn the vegetation ahead of the fire. In fort MacMurray if they had set fire to the vegetation on the highway they could have stopped or slowed the fire. Don't the new breed of people know this trick , I do its the first time an adult gave me a package of matches and told me to intentionally light a fire. So the fire burns toward the wind and you maintain it so it to dose not be a problem. The fire burns into the wind until it meets the fire and simply goes out for the lack of fuel. WTF were these cowboys thinking I don't know
Controlled burns is what you’re referring to and they do do them all over these two countries. Canada and US. But I kinda figured everyone has common sense to realize there’s a LOT of forests and it takes a long long long time to get to them all and then by then you’re starting back over at the very first one again. It’s never ending circle.
all of that for some filthy oil sands money. Fort Mac is hell on earth.
I know this is bad and all but those pink flames were really cool. Again sorry
