WVU went on to dominate for 5 more seasons. Fast forward... in 2013 wvu went 4-8, losing to kansas who was one of the worst teams in power conference play. In 2014, present, wvu has a chance to reach elite status again if it can pull off an upset against alabama.. Against All Odds, Go 'Eers!

Alabama is packed with talent once again this year, and has the best recruiting of any team once again, they have about every weapon in the book, it's not going be like hitting a brick wall, but a very thick steel one. Cameron Robinson, David Cornwell, Tony Brown, Shaun Hamilton,D.J. Pettway,etc., and the best keeps choosing Alabama, ad infinitum. I'm a football fanatic I take a close look at all the top teams, and let me tell you Alabama will be a monster for the next several years. It might take one year for their five and four star recruits to get into the rhythm, which (could ) mean they might lose a game or two, but of course they have the talent to win them all, that's up to them, but after 2014 look out.

They recruit local kids who don't give a damn who they play just give them a time and date and they will be there. Oh Alabama will not underestimate WV, they will be prepared, I'm guessing Alabama will win by 10, just too much talent and determination for the mountaineers to handle this is a team that had a difficult time beating William & Mary last year and lost to Baylor by 31 points. So,a team with a 4-8 record last year and playing the team with the best recruiting class of any team in college football plans to beat Alabama, I don't see it happening, WV couldn't even beat Iowa State last year. But at least WV has a tougher schedule than the cream puff Alabama schedule, but still Alabama is a powerhouse, no doubt.

Quarterback hangs back too long in the pocket waiting for the play to develop, and when he's inaccurate he's way too inaccurate. 2. Offensive line allowed Alabama quarterback to be under too much pressure. On defense Where do I begin? 1. Absolutely no pressure on the quarterback, except for maybe three or four plays, WV quarterback has all day to throw the ball, I mean all freaking day. 2. Horrible pass coverage, not looking back at the ball, not staying on their assignments, WV receivers constantly all out in the open with no Alabama players even near them. 3. Special teams looked a bit weak.
If only the refs would've shown up unbiased. Regardless, it was a good game. I think it could've ended a little different if there were a few less "missed" calls and a couple less dropped passes. Good game tho Bama, looks like you'll have a good season once again and our season is looking up after a great game against the #2 team. God luck to both teams.

Doc has no excuses for not having an unbeaten season with a pathetic schedule like that. So many Marshall fans love to hate on WVU any time we have a bad year (rarely). Get in a REAL conference, play a REAL schedule, then talk smack. Until then, remember; MooU is 0-12 versus the only real college football team in WV.
