- Let’s preview the DEERC D70 FPV Drone!
Is this drone any good for under $100 or is it a waste of money even at this price point?
We will look at some specs and claims for this drone to help us decide if it’s worth a try or not.
Please leave a comment to help me decide - thanks!
I'm diving headfirst into the world of drones!
As a complete beginner, I'm eager to learn and, yes, I'm prepared to break a few things along the way.
Once we hit 100 subscribers, I'll purchase my very first drone, take it for a spin, test its limits, and give you an honest review.
If you're curious to see how it all unfolds, make sure to 'Like,' 'Subscribe,' and drop a comment to join me on this exciting journey!
If you have a suggestion for a sub $100 drone for me to look at please leave a comment!
Right now LYZRC L200 Pro Max is the best under $100 drone. Brushless, GPS, gimbal+EIS, 2k video, SD card slot. (And not this Deerc piece of crap from Jeff Bezos his scam site)
However I want you to buy the KFPLAN KF110 instead. Why? Because it is the same drone for a couple bucks more that is the same but looks a little bit different. And there are already good reviews of the L200 Pro Max, but not the KF110. You will be (on of) the first.
Please order it with second battery and that funny obstacle avoidance thing on top. That will bring it over $100 but people can still buy it without for under $100.
@@driewielThanks for the recommendations! I will definitely look into both of these options.
@@FirstFlightDrones I am looking for the fastest drone. No not how fast it flies. But how fast you can get it in the air for a picture.
You see, when you're on a bike tour you are not going to spend half an hour on a quick selfie shot. You just ride on and don't bother. And you also don't get off your bike, put a camera somewhere, walk back, ride past, walk back again, pick up the camera, walk to your bike again, put the drone way.......... That is why I started with drones.
The ideal drone is $50, has good optical flow position hold so you don't need to calibrate compass and wait for satellites, makes decent photos for Facebook, and has an SD card slot so you don't necessarily need the phone. The video quality isn't that important.
So perhaps you can use this for your channel? Nobody on YT actually shows how easy and quick it is to launch a drone. And very few cheap drones have optical flow you can really trust like the DJI Tello. Problem with the Tello was I needed the phone and a Bluetooth controller, which took too long also. I'm talking a drone you get in the air within seconds!
Of course GPS is a must have if you fly a drone higher and further away. I tried the L200 Pro Max in optical flow mode. Didn't work that well. Crashed in some bushes. I'll give it another go.
Know what I mean? Since a really cheap $30 drone could work, you don't have to spend much to review them. If it holds position with the bottom camera, and takes a good picture, that's all you need. Unfortunately most do not save it to SD card. But it's worth testing them anyway. Bring your stopwatch. Even if it is a GPS drone it is very interesting how fast it gets satellites! Again, nobody on YT shows it!
@@driewielI totally get what you’re saying for sure! I’m brand new to drones but I can really see this being an important consideration. I watched a guy open up his case and launch his drone one day in what seemed to be fairly quick process but I have no idea what he was flying except that it was crazy windy and his drone was awesome!! Probably very expensive lol.
I bike as well and I can totally see where you’re coming from. I have seen some written reviews talking about how long and complicated the launch process can be (tipping and turning and calibrating before every launch. I’m definitely going to record the get it out and get it off the ground times when I’m actually able to get my hands on some drones. Hopefully soon! I have a 100 subscribers goal before my first drone so fingers crossed it won’t take too long.
@@FirstFlightDrones Well there is your specialty: Drones for cycling. And follow-me is my specialty so I can tell you all about it. Not to confuse with optical tracking like DJI's active-track. Works very different. Follow-me is GPS, it follows your phone ( or controller with built-in GPS).
I will explains the main types of GPS follow-me later. Basically you have 'string' where it only follows from behind, and 'compass' where you can have the drone fly north south east west of you. The of course you want to be able to use the sticks, and the app should have a homepoint update option so you don't have to race back!
My (no longer produced) €130 LYZRC L109 Pro does everything right! But the gimbal and camera are poor quality. I have not been able to find a drone with the same follow-me. It's only a couple lines code! Has nothing to do with the price.
The L200 Pro Max has compass type follow-me. But soon I touch the sticks it stops following. Also it went into toilet bowl last time. and the app lacks a hompepoint update. So certainly not perfect. But you can use it to some degree.
And oh if you do get a cheap mini drone like the L200, then put it in speed two right away. They're so light, wind force 3 is max.
My best advice however is learn to fly with a $15 tiny whoop! Much harder without GPS, optical flow, or even altitude hold. But that's the whole idea! REAL flying. Look on YT for the JJRC H36. Almost can't break the thing. GPS is too easy, until one day you have to save your drone. Then the skills you got with the tiny whoop mean the difference between losing your drone, or bring it back in one piece.
