In this part of my Balkan food tour watch me try some of the most popular Serbian food, Serbian BBQ in Belgrade Serbia! When I found out some of the great traditional Serbian food is in the form of BBQ I was absolutely ecstatic as BBQ/Street Food is definitely my bag! I go to a place recommended to me called To Je To that serves some of the best BBQ/ Street Food in the capital city. I go for a big plate of some of there finest BBQ including Serbian/ Balkan food favourites Cevapi and pljeskavica. Not sure if you tried that already, but if you go to Ušće shopping mall, you can also visit Walter and try ćevapi there. My recommendation is 10 pieces with luk (onion) and "tucana paprika", and yogurt for drink.
Oh, I've just seen your other video, you already tried that 🙂 You can use fork with one hand (for meat, onion/kaymak...), and take small pieces of bread for each bite with the other one (pin the bread with the fork and tear a little piece of bread with your hand). You will not be all greasy in the end, it's more convenient to eat it that way instead of eating it like a sandwich.

Sour cabbage is eated just in that separate dish. We put some powdered paprika, sweet or spiced, i personally put only sweet one

Eating BBQ in Belgrade is like eating Southern comfort food in Portland ! Have to go south for the real deal .
Also, the only non alcoholic beverage to drink with BBQ is Coca Cola

That metal plate ist the ‚serving plate‘ of it you take the meat and put on your smaller plate. ~nevermind 😅

Classic serbian restaorant gril . Excellent in 95% of places , regardles , exclusive resturant or street boot ! But , for real stuff , the best is home-made . And , basic rule for grill - keep it simple !! Just solt and fire - enough! No mayonaise , cream, special spice mix .... Eventualy you can take some salad, to compensate all that meat . But best enjoy is so-called “outdoor triplex” : grill made outdoors , in nature , on wood ( the best fuel is old vine-wood). Triplex is type for serving - between thumb and index finger - meat( my favorite - roast) ; between index and middle finger - bread ; and finally , between middle and ring finger - fresh green onion !
Other hand is for - beer , of course !

There's a Serbian restaurant in Indiana outside Chicago, it's near a couple truck stops. I have no Idea what or how I'm supposed to eat it, I always get the mixed grill.

Mixed meat plater that you order is for two people and usually includes Karadjordjeva schnitzel. No matter how you eat it it's almost impossible to finish all that LOL.

Ha ha ha. This day's filming was after a heavy nights drinking the night before so the bbq was exactly what I was craving, I needed the fanta. That's my excuse I am going with 😂 Poor form from me indeed, good spot ha ha Normal service was resumed later that night. Cheers 🍺😅

You stildidnt get it...salad is cooling system for meet and cheese is cooling system for hot meal's.So sarma,gulash,punjena paprika....you cooling with cheese.Pljeskavica,cevapi,raznjici,vesalica,kobasica,snicla you cooling with salad sopska,kupus salata,belolucana paprika....
For heating you use rakija,vinjak,viljamovka....and cillipeper's

The cevapi are Bosnian foods, as is the lepinja. Serbs come to Bosnia to have the best cevapi;)
Cevapi came to Belgrade from Leskovac, southern Serbia in the 1800's. Serbs were noted as eating it before anything was said about it in Bosnia. Serbs go to the Serbian part, Republika Srpska, of BiH. They were ethnically cleansed from the other parts.

I am really confused why people in the West have their burgers with LETTUCE??!!! It has no flavor, it is like eating a sheet of paper. Instead of it, it is 100 times better to have onion and cabbage, they can give you a lot of good taste, you will enjoy your burger. If you want some more good things on your burger, it can be ground paprika. It should be a bit hot. Or really hot if you like spicy food.

I don’t believe that pljeskavitza is made of beef. Have you asked them? We use a pork a lot and I would expect that pljeskavitza is made of pork.
