I absolutely loved this school, so sad to see just how much it has deteriorated in the last 13 years since I was in it. I can still remember every room and how they looked with everything in them. Even more disappointed that I recognise who some of the vandals are... Would give anything to see the building restored to its former glory, certainly needs a lot of work. Shocked to see the Dux boards were never removed before the school was shut. Can just about make out my great uncle (who passed away during my final year in that school) on the older, crumpled board.
Hi four generations of my family went to this school my kids, myself, my dad and my grandad, loved your wee tour great to have another look at it. The bottom of the school was primary one and two and the gym hall, next floor was p3 and 4, then p5 and where you came in and up the stairs top of stairs was p6 and 7 classes the bricked up part is the part that connected to the club's park resource centre. Loved this school the head teacher new every kids name. Thanks. Xxx
So many memories flooding back watching this, it's so sad how it's rotted away. I attended this school from 2000 till 2007, 4 generations of my family attended Clune park
Looks like the ned you mentioned burning it down finally managed tonight. A terrible shame as it's a beautiful old building, and my dad went to that school.
It's such a massive shame to see these beautiful buildings in such dilapidated conditions. The Councils should definitely invest more money into these places and get them up and running again. Knocking them down would be a huge waste of time and money. Plus the fact that many of these buildings hold such wonderful and timeless memories for many people.
This was wonderful! Took me right back, I always remembered the mural outside the office of the victorian boy and his teacher, I didn't even realise there was a door to the boiler room! Probably because they had artwork over it as it was right next to the p1 classroom
Omg...chills watching this ....i remember those stairs well when I was a wee girl. Didn't seem so big ..but when you look at it ....its crazy big.so many secret passages...thank you so much for sharing this video. Great memories there. Me and my brothers and sister went to that school. 😁👍
I think it's more derelict than abandoned. As far as I'm aware, the school building is included in the Port Glasgow Regeneration Project and the intention is to preserve the facade of the building, if possible.
When you went up that first flight of stairs, from the boys changing room, the first landing used to open up into a huge cloakroom. You put your coat there then headed up the rest of the stairs to class. I wonder why they boarded it up? Is there anything bricked up in there lol??
I was there 95 - 2002, nice to see it but it's a wee shame. The upstairs rooms you went in next to the stairs were used for music lessons and the famous TV room was next to that :)
Was there 1966 to 71 quite big population school my mother went there now deceased school nurse Mary Bannerman I could walk up every star esp first lot going up to P 7 was in need of repair in 2940 I believe

I went here from 95/96.... thanks for the wee throwback.
The office at front (one with the rusty keys) of the school was the janitors office
Cheers for the info.
An amazing school so many great memories and brilliant staff. Inverclyde Council should be ashamed letting this listed building rot and burn
They'd be glad to get rid of it along with the rest of the scheme.

A sad day.
Getting demolished now :(

If only you could gain access to Babylon nightclub in Greenock. The memories that would bring back.
Great idea 💡 xx
left this school in 2001/2002 when i was 9 or 10, at 2:10 the blue door to my left was my old classroom :)

Glad you enjoyed it! I needed to get the video done while I could.

I hope it gets saved, but you know this council...

So sad to see the state the school has been left. 4 generations of my family went to this school. I went here from 1997 to 2004.

@@MrZOMBIE170 With grammar like that I don't think you went at all.
Shame let let such a beautiful building go to ruin.

My old school, I left in 2005 and was the dux, however they just never updated the board after 84 for some reason
Went to this scool left in 1998 so sad to c it like this
When you went up that first flight of stairs, from the boys changing room, the first landing used to open up into a huge cloakroom. You put your coat there then headed up the rest of the stairs to class. I wonder why they boarded it up? Is there anything bricked up in there lol??
In the gym hall where the ropes are the that was also a canteen and assembly hall the climbing frame would be moved into the wall

Thanks for the info, it all helps. If I go back in again I'll be well versed in what room I'm in.

Is the microphone in your pocket?
Zoom H1n on top of camera but never had a shock mount for it, it's so sensitive it picked up every touch of the camera.
