You are very creative, and your videos are amazing!! I was wondering if you can do a similar tool regarding vehicles, but this tool is about booking vehicles. Users can view available and in-use cars, and they book available cars. They fill out forms for checking out (logging usage) and forms for returning the cars, and the vehicle status changes dynamically based on their form submission. The tool can include a dashboard for reporting the most used or least used car, for example. Or if you have a similar video for this idea. Please i need your help. Thanks

More and more I use, I get interesting questions. When the number of vehicles are more than 15 then how can we load the vehicle details, because Vehicle List can have only 10 vehicles. Can we use drop down list to load the cars? In this case what change needs to be done in existing macro? Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi and thanks so much, you can use a drop down list for the vehicles, you can use a Match Formula to determine the row # of the vehicle, or Index/Match to determine the vehicle ID and load the vehicle details on change event. I am re-building this great app in my language (with several modification, I might add) but am wondering how to prevent duplicate car names, or rather duplicate plate numbers, as those must be unique. I have watched the video several times and did not see a reference to duplicate prevention. Is there a template/video that can help me out?

Wow Randy once again great creativity...I've been waiting for something like this. I have a question and perhaps a suggestion for your part2. Perhaps when entering repairs to a specific vehicle you could facilitate entering several repairs on the same vehicle on the same date. Sometimes you are having several repairs done at the same time. Perhaps you had already planned on doing that, in which case thank you. Keep up the great work.
Hi Tony, thanks very much for your suggestion. Users can add unlimited repairs to a vehicle on any date, however its set as a form entry, as opposed to a table entry like an invoice, so it would be one repair at a time. With that said we could perhaps automate the repair date to either the current date or the last date entered to make it easier to add in multiple repairs on the same date quickly and easily. Hi and thanks. The drop down list is tied to a named range. Editing the named range tied to the data validation list will also edit the contents of the list. I do not have a specific video on this however if you search "Excel Data Validation" you will get tons of great video trainings.

Great Video! Excuse me for butting in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you researched - Weydaniel Organized Dominator (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a smashing one off guide for getting 7000 plus project management and business templates without the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my m8 after a lifetime of fighting got amazing results with it.
Again another GREAT Video.... i know the Full project isn't done but you did most of the work on the VEHICLE tab.... you have the ADD\SAVE btns... what about an UPDATE btn? maybe you need to make changes to an existing vehicle. You need to add some notes later on after your initial entry. Maybe it's planned??? Or is this OUR homework project for the week :) Also a note: you copy a lot for formats from other cells to make is all alike.. you never click the FORMAT PAINTER Button?
Thanks 👍 Erik. When it comes to updates to the vehicles we have two choices. Updates via a button or automatic updates to previously saved vehicles. In part 2 I will opt for automatic updates, so that means as soon as a change is made the database is updated, using data mapping and helper columns off to the right. (I bet you can figure it out if you use some of my past trainings) For the formats I guess i just got used to right click but i will also starting adding Format Painter in my trainings as well. I love saving keystrokes. Thanks for the great suggestion.

Hi Randy. A plea for a little help please! I am trying to make a very simple spreadsheet "issues register" my work colleagues and I are using a bit more user friendly, printing off the entire worksheet much more cleanly as well as designing a userform to select a range of row(s) to print from the spreadsheet. That part is all good. At the end of the print routine (a command button within the userform) I have written the following piece of code: "Worksheets("Register").Activate ' ActiveSheet.Range("C" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row + 1 ' Range("C100000").End(xlUp).Select." Both lines are commented out here, but neither line will return the result I am look for, i.e. to have the last empty row in the active worksheet become active. For help I have spent too much time searching through various lines of Excel code as presented on YT, but struggle to see why it is that neither of the two options I have tried simply will not return the result needed. I would sincerely appreciate your eyes on what I have written, welcoming your critical feed back. Thank you.

Excellent Randy, Just one comment, maybe this was already covered in the 2nd part, I have not seen it yet. The vehicle list on the right in the vehicle section, is that a control list, a frame, ? How it is supposed to grow as you add vehicles, I see that you paste the link from the vehicle sheet, but this list seems 'dead coded in there static".? In other words, new vehicles added how do they show in this list?
HI and thanks Edward. The vehicles are just linked to the original list, so as soon as vehicles are added in the database they become visible in the main sheet. If you want to add a lot of vehicles, you may want to use a drop-down list design instead of the left menu design. I hope this helps and thanks for the comment.

Hello Biju thanks for your comments. You can simple use VBA line code to check on the froze row value and put that into a variable. Also, using VBA, you can copy photos from anywhere on your computer into a specific and designated location (See my Employee Manager for examples of that) Thanks so much.

More and more I use, I get interesting questions. When the number of vehicles are more than 15 then how can we load the vehicle details, because Vehicle List can have only 10 vehicles. Can we use drop down list to load the cars? In this case what change needs to be done in existing macro? Thanks in advance for your help!
Hi and thanks so much, you can use a drop down list for the vehicles, you can use a Match Formula to determine the row # of the vehicle, or Index/Match to determine the vehicle ID and load the vehicle details on change event.

I am re-building this great app in my language (with several modification, I might add) but am wondering how to prevent duplicate car names, or rather duplicate plate numbers, as those must be unique. I have watched the video several times and did not see a reference to duplicate prevention. Is there a template/video that can help me out?

Wow Randy once again great creativity...I've been waiting for something like this. I have a question and perhaps a suggestion for your part2. Perhaps when entering repairs to a specific vehicle you could facilitate entering several repairs on the same vehicle on the same date. Sometimes you are having several repairs done at the same time. Perhaps you had already planned on doing that, in which case thank you. Keep up the great work.
Hi Tony, thanks very much for your suggestion. Users can add unlimited repairs to a vehicle on any date, however its set as a form entry, as opposed to a table entry like an invoice, so it would be one repair at a time. With that said we could perhaps automate the repair date to either the current date or the last date entered to make it easier to add in multiple repairs on the same date quickly and easily.

Hi and thanks. The drop down list is tied to a named range. Editing the named range tied to the data validation list will also edit the contents of the list. I do not have a specific video on this however if you search "Excel Data Validation" you will get tons of great video trainings.

Great Video! Excuse me for butting in, I am interested in your thoughts. Have you researched - Weydaniel Organized Dominator (Have a quick look on google cant remember the place now)? It is a smashing one off guide for getting 7000 plus project management and business templates without the headache. Ive heard some unbelievable things about it and my m8 after a lifetime of fighting got amazing results with it.
Again another GREAT Video.... i know the Full project isn't done but you did most of the work on the VEHICLE tab.... you have the ADD\SAVE btns... what about an UPDATE btn? maybe you need to make changes to an existing vehicle. You need to add some notes later on after your initial entry. Maybe it's planned??? Or is this OUR homework project for the week :)
Also a note: you copy a lot for formats from other cells to make is all alike.. you never click the FORMAT PAINTER Button?
Thanks 👍 Erik. When it comes to updates to the vehicles we have two choices. Updates via a button or automatic updates to previously saved vehicles. In part 2 I will opt for automatic updates, so that means as soon as a change is made the database is updated, using data mapping and helper columns off to the right. (I bet you can figure it out if you use some of my past trainings)
For the formats I guess i just got used to right click but i will also starting adding Format Painter in my trainings as well. I love saving keystrokes. Thanks for the great suggestion.

Hi Randy. A plea for a little help please! I am trying to make a very simple spreadsheet "issues register" my work colleagues and I are using a bit more user friendly, printing off the entire worksheet much more cleanly as well as designing a userform to select a range of row(s) to print from the spreadsheet. That part is all good. At the end of the print routine (a command button within the userform) I have written the following piece of code:
"Worksheets("Register").Activate
' ActiveSheet.Range("C" & Rows.Count).End(xlUp).Row + 1
' Range("C100000").End(xlUp).Select."
Both lines are commented out here, but neither line will return the result I am look for, i.e. to have the last empty row in the active worksheet become active. For help I have spent too much time searching through various lines of Excel code as presented on YT, but struggle to see why it is that neither of the two options I have tried simply will not return the result needed.
I would sincerely appreciate your eyes on what I have written, welcoming your critical feed back.

Do you mean the last row in a worksheet that contains a value? (that would be the last used row, not the last empty row.

Excellent Randy, Just one comment, maybe this was already covered in the 2nd part, I have not seen it yet.
The vehicle list on the right in the vehicle section, is that a control list, a frame, ? How it is supposed to grow as you add vehicles, I see that you paste the link from the vehicle sheet, but this list seems 'dead coded in there static".?
In other words, new vehicles added how do they show in this list?
HI and thanks Edward. The vehicles are just linked to the original list, so as soon as vehicles are added in the database they become visible in the main sheet. If you want to add a lot of vehicles, you may want to use a drop-down list design instead of the left menu design. I hope this helps and thanks for the comment.

Hello Biju thanks for your comments. You can simple use VBA line code to check on the froze row value and put that into a variable. Also, using VBA, you can copy photos from anywhere on your computer into a specific and designated location (See my Employee Manager for examples of that)
