Preston Garvey they are really good now. Bmth themselves didn’t like their older albums. Albums like Suicide season was said by the band they didn’t like it and that it was rushed. Also they are not gonna stay the same forever lol. Their new song parasite eve is really good and they are very popular they must be doing something right 🤷♂️
@angelicx1610 MANTRA and IN THE DARK are important to Post Human, it's where it all started, at least some part of it, you don't know if some songs like Drown from That's the Spirit have anything to do with it, however, the pills that we see in MANTRA, are the puss-e, which takes you to YOU-topia, people on drugs that feel like they're in paradise, locked in DREAMSEEKER, a glass capsule, all of whom are held captive in laboratories where they experiment on people, like in LOST, and STRANGERS, and we can see the results of these experiments in DIE4U.
Before this video I did like the song but the video harmonizes so well with the song and gives it a whole different meaning and feeling about it. I absolutely love it now. I don't care who it's by and I feel like that's important because Sempiternal was my favourite (and a really important one for me) by BMTH and I could feel sad rn that they're not gonna do something similar to it anymore but I love this song so much now that it's more important to enjoy and accept their new music. It was really courageous of them to go this direction, to keep on going, to evolve and boi are they amazing at it.
It’s an incredible song and the same for the music video, although it isn’t anything like the older BMTH, I still enjoy it and always will, I’m a BMTH fan no matter what. And I hope you all are. Love you BMTH so glad your back 🤟🏻😝
Drummer Bøy Das RIGHT. And a lot of them are saying bmth got inspiration from tøp & whass wrong with that?!? I like tøp, I love bmth & Im down for a fusion between them/their genres/whatever
Very mixed feelings about the direction they headed with That’s the Spirit. But, while this is still similar in terms of style, it’s done extremely well. I’m absolutely loving it.
Adam Canfield it's a lot harsher. Listen to Sempiternal. He was straining his voice to the point where they had to stop touring for a bit so his voice could heal.
@@buatmainml1284 sure.. but, the fact they "need" to change does not mean they necessarily had to change in that direction.. there's no actual need to do that, but whatever, its their "choice" to be uber commercial, I guess
you can't really criticise where this band is going and this song is actually good on its own. but sempiternal will forever remain this band's pinnacle.
When you try to use big words but forget to capitalize the first word in your statement and you started with BUT in your other one. Your statement is straight facts though.
It's so cool how this one song had singlehandedly decided on what the band will do in the future themewise, as the story told on Post Human and the ARG directly connects to this song and music video.
Honestly I’m super proud of BMTH, they’ve grown and broke the mould of their former selves. That’s hard to do when so many stubborn fans keep trying to drag them back to their old style, their new style is catchy, it works, and they’re doing what they love while also appealing to the public eye more. Kudos to them.
People are wanting them to be what they used to be ‘cause it’s the reason why they even got loads of fans. Also their original style is the type of stuff that the biggest part of the industry doesn’t like, doesn’t want to exist, and every band from that era has quit sounding like that. Some newer ones try to be that kind of heavy, but when they have a lot of fans and have been heavily around for 5 years, that’s always when the band gets softer and never is that heavy again. So everyone should know that by now. Don’t get hung up on that heavy style ‘cause it always goes away eventually and never comes back. I just hope when bands decide to go softer, it’s what they actually wanna make and what they wanna make so they can survive in the industry (‘cause that’s why it doesn’t last). Also, yes they’re more of what the industry wants, but not enough to be mainstream or Hollywood (worldwide big industry) type mainstream (‘cause they have mainstream amount of fans just not that part of the industry). The type that most places would decide to play. So yeah since I know and everyone should know by now that bands eventually end up not being as heavy if they were the kind that had some softer elements inside their music when they were heavier, then they should know that they’re never gonna be the old way anymore. Plus when an artist/band’s music gets softer, then they get more fans that don’t know about or who aren’t into the heavier stuff that they can’t go back to the old way anyway. The main thing is that an artist can do whatever they wanna do and if people don’t like it and they’ve been that way longer than the original way, then either like it or not. Asking for them to go back isn’t gonna happen now. Currently I’m not into the song, but I may be later. I think it’s kind of boring and the instruments sound like stuff I’ve heard before, just with a different kind of vocals. Not hating, but it’s not for me now. That’s just how I currently feel about this song.
i would go and say that most of why they "grown" it's because oli can't scream anymore. Sure that this sounds nice, but i have pretty sure that if they could make another kind of sempiternal, they would instead of this. Js
I think because while this isn't the same "sound" we all know from BMTH... its still so CLEARLY BMTH. From the lyrics, the overall theme of the song, the music video. Its not the same BMTH.. but still very much BMTH. I hope that makes sense.
Im exactly the same but I like it and it’s been on repeat but don’t love it YET . Saying that, It is growing on me but feels a little too simple and repetitive and like it could’ve been a bonus track on TTS but I’m probably a minority 🤷🏻♂️. Still, can’t wait for the album I know I’ll love it.
Use to drink a liter of whiskey and listen to BMTH and this song crazy thing is this song is the same reason i wanted to quit and now i am over 4 years sober and still love this song and this dude!
Same! I don't know why but it get's better the more often you listen to it. Maybe they did it on purpose, cuz it's the same with a cult: first you laugh at the guru but later you start believing everything he says 🤔
Idk if I'm just really stoned, but I feel like the video is a metaphor for the band changing styles. Oli starts with his classic long hair but says he doesn't feel whole and "needs a purpose". We all know that during much of his career Oli struggled with Ketamine usage because he never felt happy with where his life was at. Then in the video he sees a commercial on TV that inspires him, similar to in real life when he saw a video of himself high as a kite during performances. The next time we see Oli in the video he has short hair and his entire fashion style has changed. Then of course you have lyrics like "before the truth will set you free, it'll piss you off" the truth being that he prefers to make this style of music, and also "before you find a place to be (a purpose in life) you've gotta lose the plot (become heavily addicted to drugs and hit rock bottom in order to see just how amazing your life truly is). Again, maybe I'm just too stoned, but that's what I came up with after really analyzing the video
true the guitar sounds like a lot of songs on that's the spirit if anything this single is a little heavier people just like to bitch about every song they make
I honestly felt like this could’ve easily of been a bonus track on TTS. I’m still not sure if I completely love it but just me 🤷🏻♂️. Can’t wait for the full album
Well, its not to far off from TTS, I really enjoyed that album. While it was nothing like their previous works, it was still heavy in a sense for the genre they switched to, despite the clean vocals and some tracks, I feel they still had their trademark "There's a Void inside my soul" kinda sound . This song Isn't as heavy, as any of the tracks on TTS. But its not that far off either, what makes it slightly more different than their previous albums track, is the pop sounding lyrics and synth samples toward the end of the song its self. Now alot of people will disagree with me and say its not Pop Rock, that its Hard Rock, but i'll personally have to disagree, as it clearly has pop influences in the song, while still keeping that Hard Rock riff through most of the song. So thats my take on how this song is different than the previous song On TTS. And if you wanna see why I label this song as Pop Rock instead of Hard Rock, take a second and listen to a couple pop songs on the radio and you'll see what I mean hopefully. Oh and one more thing that I think makes TTS tracks different from Mantra is that it has a more electronic sound that compliments the Hard Rock tunes, which reminds me of Can You Feel My Heart, more than Mantra, Mantra has a quick and short, but drastic change in sound toward the end. Cant wait to hear the rest of the album though, while this song did grow on me a bit, I want to hear something just a liiiitle more heavy in a couple tracks, at least reminiscent of Avalanche Or Happy Song and less of the Synth sounds. Mantra sounds good and I do like it, but it doesn't exactly sound like them, imho.

Who knew Mantra was canon to the Post Human universe
Survival Horror sure
Felt the same way after hearing the song first and then seeing the video, this is done so well.

Lmao it turns me on 😂
It's so cool how this one song had singlehandedly decided on what the band will do in the future themewise, as the story told on Post Human and the ARG directly connects to this song and music video.
SicksRayne You literally look like Oli on profile picture 😂
Weronika Kirzyc Hahaha really? I’ve actually never heard that before. 😂
KelliConan Well said there. Couldn’t agree more!
i would go and say that most of why they "grown" it's because oli can't scream anymore. Sure that this sounds nice, but i have pretty sure that if they could make another kind of sempiternal, they would instead of this. Js

I love how oli has his long hair at the start, then it magically goes short and light
Was his long hair at the start real or a wig?

I dont get how people think this is a huge change compared to the last record. Sounds like more of TTS
true the guitar sounds like a lot of songs on that's the spirit if anything this single is a little heavier people just like to bitch about every song they make
@@shahar9452 it's not heavier compared to songs like True Friends.
YES!
