Hello Sir, I had a question regarding dirty and clean moderation. In my analysis, I have x,y, and z variables. In model 1, x--->y, I get x as significant. In model 2, x+z ---> y (z is the control and not the moderator), I still get only x as significant, not z. Now, in model 3, x*z--->y, I get x, x*z, and z as significant. Is this a case of dirty moderation? I am confused between model 2 and model 3. 'z' has no impact on its own on y but only with the moderator model; it is independently significant as well x*z is significant. PLEASE CLARIFY.

Pls when using process macro for moderation analysis, will u be wrong if u input mean centered variables?
