I don't have a passion for aviation. I just happened to be born in to it. I saw what looked like a bi-plane amphibian craft. Thought that would be a nice ideal. Sense you decided to assume why I was here. I figured I'd let you know the real reason. I grew up around Edwards Air Force Base. My life is locked into aviation.
SeaRey is currently out of production. Seamax only sold one aircraft last year. Super Petrel sales are only limited by the production schedule of 23 aircraft annually worldwide. The new aircraft will be about $289,000 with the 915is Turbo and $279,000 with the 912is. I believe that deposits for the first year of production of the new aircraft is already sold out.
$289,000 with the 915is Turbo, $10,000 less for the 912is non turbo. 6 Months delivery (depending on how far down the list your deposit is could be longer).
Very nice but you guys should have instead figured out how to give it a sliding canopy like Searey. Your newest canopy doesn't even allow for removal of the side doors like the previous design did. Should have invested some engineering horsepower in that instead.
Why would you want them. More moving parts, more weight, more maintenance, more risk of failure. Look at the cost of the A5 and the only real extra is folding wings. Not for me.

Having had a parachute and never using it, I wouldn't want the extra weight and cost. There is also an on going cost as the parachute has to be serviced.
Steve, I am a big fan of electric vehicles. I’ve owned and driven EVs since 2011. An electric engine in this aircraft would be impossible. The entire Rotax engine with propeller weighs about 140 pounds. The weight of fuel is 150 pounds. That provides about six hours of endurance at 100 miles per hour. An electric drive system that weighs the same would provide less than 30 minutes of endurance. Light sport aircraft are limited to a maximum weight standard of 1,420 pounds. So we can’t make it larger.
Beautiful plane!! I love the fact that it’s tricycle gear!!

nobody cares
Beautiful improvements! I love the XP design! But will it price competitively with the Seamax or SeaRey?

Nice aircraft!
Awesome improvements
more more more ....price, delivery time ......
Since the company will not answer your questions. ....I will. It will only cost $3,000,000.00. After deposited of 80%, only 6 decades for delivery.

it looks like you can also land in salt water with this aircraft - what is the maximum wave height for a safe landing?
About 1 foot wave is as much as you would want to encounter. I operate out of Negril Jamaica in winter. No problem in Salt water.
Beautiful Plane! I want one! How much?
$285,000 with the 915is turbo
$10K less with the 912is
Will there be a summer canopy option?
Negative. There is no way to fly open canopy in the new aircraft. There are new airline type swivel vents for air.
VERY GOOD VIDEO!!!
May she fly as long as PBY 5As
Can the plane be made for ambulance and how much is the price please?
2023 Prices Delivered at Ormond Beach, FL. $225,000
No room for a stretcher. $289,000 USD.
@@randywinner111 That price is the for the previous model that has been discontinued.
Very cool!! Are you planning on 4 seater Super Petrel??
No sir. The Light Sport aircraft rules currently only allow for 2 persons and 650 Kilo Maximum Weight.
I feel like I clicked on an AD.
I was hoping to actually learn about the plane. 😒

Lets go fish in

Подобная компоновка лодка,крылья, двигатель существуют давно, другое дело сделать красиво изящьно и чтоб летало.

I’m guessing you can’t fold the wings like the A5.
You pay for those heavy folding wings with huge hits to performance.
Why would you want them. More moving parts, more weight, more maintenance, more risk of failure. Look at the cost of the A5 and the only real extra is folding wings. Not for me.
Na pratica isso gera mais transtorno que satisfacao.
Nope. But you could buy two of these for the cost of an A5 and it has a much higher useful load.
Please dont mess up the instrument panel.
With the new canopy, they needed space for the pilot and passenger to enter and exit. So the panel had to be modified.
@@HedoScott Retaining the dual 10.6" G3X?
@@tommidd8042 Only one 10" G3X mounted in the center with a G5 above it. A mount for an iPad in front of the pilot and passenger.
@@HedoScott Sad. Thanx for the info. I almost placed an order with Roger H.

I really like this plane. I liked the Icon A5 but there have been some fatal crashes.
Meu sonho
Need to mod it with the P6 engine
Missed the parachute.....
Stall speed lower than you would touch down with parachute, and big hit to useful load. Really no need for it
Having had a parachute and never using it, I wouldn't want the extra weight and cost. There is also an on going cost as the parachute has to be serviced.
Please offer an electric engine option.

100mph? WAY TOO SLOW. I might as well get in my car going 70.
I want to see the UA-cam video of your 100 mph car landing in the water! Then I want to see how you get home afterwards.

100kts no mph
Cute, doesn't look like it has room for two sets of golf bags and overnight bags.
No, but neither does any other Light Sport Amphibian. The Light Sport Seaplane type is limited to a MTOW of 1,420 lbs. (644 Kilo).

Since the Super Petrel has been manufactured for over twenty years, I don’t see any way it was copied from anyone else’s design.
look at all that hard to tool aero and then struts and wires blowing it all...
No flying wires at all. Only Aerodynamic Struts. It IS a BIPLANE! My Super Petrel can fly 6 hours on 24 gallons of Mogas. Less than 4 gph at cruise.
