As an American social worker (MSW, ACSW), it really pains me to hear such horrible, victim blaming responses from these Greater Manchester social workers. I don't know the education level or license these social workers hold that might be mitigating factors in their responsibility, nor if they were pressured by the law enforcement/legal authorities to dismiss the accounts of the young girls. In any case, the totality of victims across so many cities is shocking and suggests a climate where the value of the Pakistani men was higher than the value of the children. As an American social worker (MSW, ACSW), it really pains me to hear such horrible, victim blaming responses from these Greater Manchester social workers. I don't know the education level or license these social workers hold that might be mitigating factors in their responsibility, nor if they were pressured by the law enforcement/legal authorities to dismiss the accounts of the young girls. In any case, the totality of victims across so many cities is shocking and suggests a climate where the value of the Pakistani men was higher than the value of the children. And it's offensive and shocking that not one single officer was fired.
In 2009 in Bradford the social services left me living with a 26 year old man when I was 13. They closed my case when I was 14. I got ZERO support at all. Please consider covering Bradford!
