One thing to note! The case is magnetic… I did “note” it on that section, but just in case you missed it. Wanted to make sure you guys were aware! Zhiyun really did cover their bases with this light 🤦🏽♂️😂
The M20c does have magnet mountablity, it's just on the case and not the light itself. Which, totally get your thought behind it not being on the light.
I found that out after making the whole video 🤦🏽♂️😂 I did add a footnote for that section though as it is a really useful tool and the more I use the more I’m actually appreciating the enclosure!
Hey Anthony I really love the quality of your video, how can I get grain like this? what is it called? grain? particles? noise? lol. thanks, hope to hear from you.
Hmm I didn’t have a light meter to test but it for sure seems like it’s more 1.22x brighter. Are these measured tests from the manufacturers or from your personal findings? My mcpro when used as a “keylight” bouncing off the wall in the same position didn’t even come remotely close to the m20c… I really should’ve added that to the video 🤦🏽♂️ that’s my mistake
Lux at 1m - M20C W 487 R 255 G 280 B 103, MC Pro W 399 R 110 G 212 B 36. The M20C is thus approx. x1.22 brighter for white (4300K), and x1.3 to x2.86 brighter for colour LEDS.The downside is that the M20C has shorter battery life, and doesn't appear to have any IPX rating.
I should make a follow up video! The m20c has a much wider beam with consistent power throughout. Unlike the mcpro, which only has that power output directly in the middle and falls off pretty quickly. It’s almost like a more concentrated “higher output” beam that’d you’d get from a light with a fresnel… kindof Also, the falloff is pretty hideous on the mcpro. There’s weird chromatic aberrations and the color temperature shift drastically
Sidus Link is a whole lot better than ZY Vega...currently sitting at a 1.5 rating on the app store. I have a Molus G200 as well and while it's a great light when you control it with the ballast, things like updating the firmware took a dozen tries to get through. I haven't tried updating the M20C firmware yet. It's a great tiny light and I'm planning on using it with the Osmo Pocket 3 for a whole pocketable setup, but it's much more of a prosumer device than an entry-to-mid-level pro piece of kit like the Aputure / Amaran lights are.
@@Sean-tc6fg Do you have a link of an osmo pocket 2 frame, that the M20C can be attached on ? I know there are several, just curious about your preference. Thanks
Fair enough! I never really pay attention to that kind of stuff because I’m either plugging it into the wall if I really need that many hours of continuous run time instead of swapping them out every 90 minutes. It’s a good thing to note though!
@@AnthonyRodriguezz M20C can run at 10 and 5w too. According to Fiveray it has a battery of "40 mins at Max Power 20W; 1H20mins at Power 10W; 3H at Power 5W." But the MC Pro is kind of WR too, wich can be a damn good reason to get it other the M20C
Brighter? Yes. But what about protection from water and dust? What about plastic that can melt when heated at 20 watts? It is believed that the adapter melts on the molus x100, and this is said to be a common problem. And the mc pro doesn't have a plastic mount. Everything is metal. And there is protection from water and dust....
I use the x100 regularly and have never had anything melt. A plethora of lights actually have plastic for adapters! But yes, you’re right. The mc pro is built more for the elements and if that’s what most important to you, that’s probably the best option!
I saw that! The zhiyun launch video educated me after posting the video 😂 Not sure when I’d want that tbh as I’d rather just use a x100 at that point, ya know? Having RGB is nice though
great review ! i just feel that a direct comparison with the mc would help a lot. Even though the zhiyun is 20w, the mc has lens on front of the diodes that helps increases the brightness and on a situation that you used (as a bounce) it might be closer than we think!
One thing to note!

I use grain but the grain comes from a lot of things
M20C is 1950 lux at .5m. MC pro is 1597 lux at .5m. So it is about 1.22x brighter. Mc pro is 4x brighter than original mc.

@@AnthonyRodriguezz very interesting! To answer your earlier question, I’m going off stated Photometrics from from both brands.
@@AnthonyRodriguezz A video with a side by side beam comparison of MC Pro and M20C would be useful.
The cold shoe mounts are there to connect more mc20.

That’s actually pretty sick

thats crazy its so much brighter than the aputure mc pro

MC Pros battery life is similar to their charge time. M20Cs will burn through battery life faster than you can charge extra ones in your kit.
