Thank you Clear much appreciated. My buddy study's tai chi and I find it very different from wushu the movements are so subtle almost can't see what's happening. Finding this very nostalgic and lil mysterious. Tai chi ftw!
I notice when I punch with loose hands and arms; it creates a whipping effect hence creating more speed and power. A simple punch with proper techique requires lots of practice.
Richard knows at least 7 or 8 other styles and is a master of them. I have no doubt whatsoever in his martial arts ability and his ability to amaze anyone, but there's no hitting in Tai Chi Chuan. I've experienced transfer of power from Master Waysun Liao and felt nothing yet I was thrown 6 feet against a wall with no initial impact. Again, I have no doubts as to his martial arts ability. I just think they are a combination of many different arts. I know he has internal abilities by the way. That much is obvious.
+Anthony Pietaro Some styles and teachers of Tai Chi will emphasize aspects other than hitting. However, Tai Chi filled with strikes of all types. An important part of studying multiple arts is learning to understand their core principles and learn where the arts are different are where they overlap. In our teaching we are careful to distinguish between the different arts we do. So if one of our videos is labeled as a Tai Chi video it's because the skills and techniques are directly from Tai Chi.
