I like both. I own both. I agree they are different. The Prada, for me, is more special and a bit more multi-dimensional. The more "mineral" notes in Carbon I believe are the mixture of ambroxan with deeper resins, specifically myrrh which lends a dusty, soil like quality that is done to such a subtle effect that it's easy not to pick up on it. Add in the masculine floral lavender and you have something that is much more complex over time than Sauvage. One observation I've not seen mentioned much is that on my skin Carbon gets a "second wind" of performance after 6 hours. That is when compliments started coming for me. And I still smelled it after 12 hours though it was a soft, relaxing bedtime scent by then. I'll wear both, and I'm glad I have both, but Carbon seems more versatile, interesting and all for a lower price tag. I actually like Dior's bottle better though. I should add I sprayed Carbon 9 times on my skin including under my shirt.
Let me spare a moment to appreciate your work and efforts. In a plethora of fragcom reviewers you stand out with your wit and cutting edge content, not to mention your legendary intros being by far the best.
Sauvage is simply a beast in projection and compliments. But I will check out luna rossa carbon. Sounds interesting in the review. Thank you, Mr Smelly!
I tried Carbon and I owned Sauvage. I really must say that Carbon is a little bit smoother. However, I kind of find it a little bit similar to Bleu de Chanel EDP. It's smoother, more well rounded but it does not have as much character as Sauvage. Up to now, I must say that there is no other fragrance that does what Sauvage did. Yes, it is a little bit anoying when you smell close but in the air when people smell you, it is wonder. I remember back in the days when I tried Sauvage and Bleu de Chanel EDP. When I first sprayed those on my hand, I kind of enjoy Bleu de Chanel a little bit more. But then after a while, when I was playing the guitar, I found myself catching whiffs of something so good. Such roughness and masculinity just like what Francois Demachy stated when he created Sauvage.
I own both..sauvage EDP ( strong projection for sure)and carbon ( also pretty good projection).. i prefer carbon as honestly sauvage makes me nauseous for some reason..
I own both. Carbon every time. Sauvage burns my nose and makes me feel weird. Only use it for summer outdoors. Prada is more wearable and can be worn anywhere.
I've yet to try LRC myself! Looks great though. A more subdued, not as obvious Sauvage-type scent might be needed for me right now actually. Salute as always! =]
After getting decants of both, I picked up a bottle of PLR Carbon. Stuff is awesome to my olfactory. Carbon has a clean lavender smell in it's mix while Suavage has ball sack whaffing in the wind smell
great video! i love your reviews man...love them...i totally agree with you on sauvage vs carbon...i recently made a video basically saying the same things in my top 5 spring scents!! well done!!!!
Spooky you posted this viedo today as was in debenhams and copared these two after the sales lady on fragrance counter tried to promote the prada.I said it smelt just like sauvage but tbh I think I preferred the prada didnt seem as soapy to me.Both very similar though!
Thank goodness for this review. Went to Macy's and sprayed Luna Rossa Carbon, thought it was the best in the LR line but... after 10 minutes it became 95% Dior Sauvage on dry down (the part of the scent you'll be with for most of the day). Great review!
Just tried LRC today. Softer...subtle and slightly sweeter version of Sauvage. I like it but I don't think I'll be getting one since I already have Sauvage which I enjoy a lot. Maybe if a good deal presents in the future but can't see myself buying it right now.
Yes it is . I have rveiewed Atlantique. It is very similar with a more aquatic feel. I didn't feel Atlantique was very exciting or unique but it has a freshness and likeability that is hard to deny. I might prefer Atlantique over Sauvage I think.
Can I ask what are other types of clean soapy fresh scents? I’ve used things like Hugo boss when it was new, polo sport, polo blue, le male, but I’m looking for something more modern to use at work and at the gym. So far I’ve found Lina rossa black, but I have yet to find something else similar that’s “new” any ideas?
I have samples of both and agree 100%. I kinda like the carbon better. Savage was a bit too much for my liking. The muted and more sweetened version of Prada is it for me
Same here. I have tried a lot of colognes and Carbon has always been the go to sexy grab. My wife loves it. It is a chameleon of sorts. During the day in blistering Florida heat, it is present but beautiful. I am an Uber driver by night and it seems to transform into a sexy metallic compliment grabber. Dior killer for sure.
You’re going to give Savage a 7 And Prada Luna Rosa carbon 7.5. But you think Savage is better. But if you like Prada you’re gonna like something else better. I’m confused. When did 7 become better than 7.5?
Jay Dee imo no. There's so much other good ones out there for me to buy rather something that smells similar like one I already have... if it had better projection and longevity then maybe I would. Like mr smelly said sauvage just gets annoying after a while. I like it but I don't see why it's so damn popular
Could never get my nose round sauvage, to sharp and annoying, carbon fits the bill for me. Plus I've almost got enough fragrances now to keep me happy. Learned to not buy what I won't use.
Hello @MrSmelly1977 🤝 Love Your Videos 👍 Rumor Has It Gentle Elsatys By Reyane Tradition's A #PradaLunaRossaCarbon Clone, Though Many Argue That It's More Of A #DiorSauvage Clone 😃 I've Also Heard People Saying #GentleElsatys Outperforms #ArmafVentana In Being A #DiorSauvage Clone ☺ We'd Appreciate It If You Check It Out Too 😉 Thanks & God Bless @MrSmelly1977 🙏
Sorry to sound negative... but I cannot stand the ambroxan bomb thing going on at the moment. Sauvage is pretty good for the first few minutes but suffocates me after that, and I cannot understand it being described as "refreshing". Fun reviews though, as ever. Wearing today: Hermes Bel Ami Vetiver.
Yassir Akif i think hes the best and her parfums are alot better then jeremys he just does high street store never does high end mr smelly knows all his creeds and scents no one really knows about! high end ones!

"Can you smell me now?" - the true test of a fragrance's longevity! 😂

Well said and true.
Agreed...carbon is just fantastic. Almost wish I could bath in it...lol..just wish it lasted a bit longer

Thanks that is really nice of you. Much appreciated Junaid.

Request: Top 5 Scents James Bond would wear. You've got the perfect collection for this Mr S!
Thanks Greg I will think about that. Good idea.
Cool maybe one per actor would be interesting
I've yet to try LRC myself! Looks great though.
A more subdued, not as obvious Sauvage-type scent might be needed for me right now actually.
Salute as always! =]
Be great to hear your thoughts on this when you try it Manny.
I like the lrc much better than sauvage. sauvage doesn't mix well with my body chemistry. my very favorite is still Versace eros
Todd Victorson Humorous how a sauvage clone is better than the original. So much hate over a great fragrance like sauvage for no reason.
No question the funniest fragrance reviewer, and one can imagine the time dictated. Big thumb up to you!
i tried Carbon yesterday. i liked it.
After getting decants of both, I picked up a bottle of PLR Carbon. Stuff is awesome to my olfactory. Carbon has a clean lavender smell in it's mix while Suavage has ball sack whaffing in the wind smell
Great review as always Mr Smelly. I like both Fragrances, I guess you would recommend this one over Sauvage for work.
Thanks Jon. Yes Luna Rossa Carbon fro me would be a better wrok scent.
Always enjoy your videos Sir Smelly
You are creative and entertaining my bro.
From California
- stay fragrant my friend
I love your videos. The content is informative and the humour adds immensely to the enjoyment. Great job.
Great reviews- thanks. So what are the best of the better freshie alternatives you prefer?
Totally agree that Sauvage is inappropriate for work.
+cackhandedchimp One time I wore Sauvage to work and one of my coworkers asked me if I was sure it wasn't bug spray.
@@97I30T Lol yeah it's garbage. Carbon is good tho, they need a new nose if they think carbon smells like bug spray lol.
Go for the EDP. I always liked Sauvage EDP much much more.
@@chriswilson1968indeed sauvage edp is a bit darker than edt, smoother and better longevity...
Prada for me tried it 3 weeks ago and really liked it
I also prefer the Prada one thanks Neal.
I have both and personally prefer the Luna Rossa because of the smoothness. I do however get more compliments when wearing Sauvage!
The beginning was hilarious .....LONGEVITY
I suppose this is a silly question, but what is the music starting at 3:17?
All reviewers must do a rematch with Carbon vs Sauvage EDP
What kind of projection are you getting and for how long on the Carbon?
great video! i love your reviews man...love them...i totally agree with you on sauvage vs carbon...i recently made a video basically saying the same things in my top 5 spring scents!! well done!!!!

love the gun shots :) !!
Thank goodness for this review. Went to Macy's and sprayed Luna Rossa Carbon, thought it was the best in the LR line but... after 10 minutes it became 95% Dior Sauvage on dry down (the part of the scent you'll be with for most of the day).
Great review!
Lol that intro
Thanks Tech Proof!
What’s your fire intro music
Just tried LRC today. Softer...subtle and slightly sweeter version of Sauvage. I like it but I don't think I'll be getting one since I already have Sauvage which I enjoy a lot. Maybe if a good deal presents in the future but can't see myself buying it right now.
Thanks Patrick. I agree with you.
Love your channel man keep up the good work :)
I love your videos man!
To me Prada Luna Rosa Carbon is what Sauvage EDP should have been.
What brand of tie are you wearing? Looks like a Canali tie... Or maybe Hugo Boss... Very sharp. :)
Got a 50ml bottle for $20 off a crack head, it is really nice my new favorite for sure.
Thanks for the review
Some reviewers say that Bvlgari Aqva Atlantique is also similar to Dior Sauvage. What do you think and which one would you prefer?
I'd also love to see this comparison
Yes it is . I have rveiewed Atlantique. It is very similar with a more aquatic feel. I didn't feel Atlantique was very exciting or unique but it has a freshness and likeability that is hard to deny. I might prefer Atlantique over Sauvage I think.

Hey man I have one question. Is the projection of the Prada as good as Diors?tjx
Sauvage EDP is much better
Need to try LR Carbon... good battle Mr. Smelly
this is how a fragrance review is done
How would you compare these two with the awesome Acqua di Parma Essenza? Thanks for your time!
LRC all day!, the best of prada yet!
You're the best man!
Sir . Which one has better performance ?
From my limited testing of Carbon I would say Sauvage has better performance. It is a very strong performer .
finally something similar to sauvage, i gotta go sniff this one out, exciting stuff!!
Let us know if you try it. Thanks OG.
What is the music at 3:18? Great review btw.
Comes the Luna in edp ? i O N L Y buy edp.
Does it resemble or similar to the vintage Eau Sauvage?
Wifes favorite was Sauvage, until she smelled the Prada LRC.
I don't think they smell the same.
You’re going to give Savage a 7 And Prada Luna Rosa carbon 7.5. But you think Savage is better. But if you like Prada you’re gonna like something else better. I’m confused. When did 7 become better than 7.5?
Carbon smells better but dior performance wise is better that's why he did that
Carbon is so much better , kinda comes off as grapefruit
How last carbon? Whic is better?
A true entertainer!!!
so Prada is a 'Carbon' copy of Sauvage, no?
7.5 savage 7. He prefers prada
ADP Essenza over these two. BTW really funny intro. lol
Hahahah the intro is fucking awesome!
in all honesty,to an untrained nose i.e in public, would anyone tell the difference? is it worth having both?
Jay Dee imo no. There's so much other good ones out there for me to buy rather something that smells similar like one I already have... if it had better projection and longevity then maybe I would. Like mr smelly said sauvage just gets annoying after a while. I like it but I don't see why it's so damn popular
ahahahah your intros are hilarious :D
I’m testing both now be back tom
LRC is a Sauvage clone so that says a lot
Sauvage is for the 15-30 year old, Prada is for 30 plus
Definitely
Carbon wins hands down
sauvage is toooooo soapy, just hate it.
BIgBeardbuisness channel chooses carbon
Hey, I get 5 seconds of longevity more :) every millimeter counts :)
That's what she said :>
Great review mr stinky
Thanks a lot!
Could never get my nose round sauvage, to sharp and annoying, carbon fits the bill for me. Plus I've almost got enough fragrances now to keep me happy. Learned to not buy what I won't use.
Dior Sauvage or Le Male?
Acairiaminombre neither
Acairiaminombre Le Male... or Carbon instead of Le Male...
It is subjective! People will choose the one they prefer! You should also do the same!
Man you are funny. Such an birt funny
LMAO! This is a hilarious!

Honest feedback. Your video editing skills are disastrous. You need to work on fading effects.

Both rubbish.
