Really good explanation of this finishing technique, it has always been one of my favorites when I want a really nice finish.
I love this.
Honestly, it's way easier and safer than this. I make wood sculptures of sections of dead branch with the ends cut at various angles. I used to use a medium toothed Silky folding saw to do the end cuts, but it left too rough a cut that required much more finish sanding. I switched to an extra fine toothed blade that can be ordered from Silky, which leaves a much smoother cut edge and eliminated a lot of sanding. I only use 3 grades of sandpaper to achieve a very smooth final edge, then I rub in a little Boos Block cutting board oil and let it dry, and then I polish that with a soft cloth. Then I achieve a subtle final polish, not real shiny, by using a soft polishing wheel with a small amount of Screw Wax (bees wax/carnauba wax product) applied to the wheel. Total time involved is a few minutes with no potentially harmful or expensive chemical products. Works perfectly well on any shaped surface, flat or rounded.

Thank you very good video.

Hey, great advice and great video! Thanks for sharing!
If you want to paint the wooden piece, do you paint and then polish it?
How many hours does it take to dry up?
love it
I am wood polish artist
He does not wear protective gloves, but uses a respirator. That's very strange.
What the oil called? I cant understand
Linseed oil @ 3:12 and mineral oil @ 3:40
@@sboyne1969linseed oil and mineral oil or mineral spirit.
Please let me know..
Like the final finish...
OR instead of all that bs just get 3 sheets of each a 1000 and 2000 grit silicon carbide sandpapers, then get some silicon and carefully rub the whole planks with them and voila.
👍🏼👏👏👏👏
No gloves? 00:47
but he has a mask, pretty wierd.
I prefer to build with Woodglut plans.
whats with all the woodglut BOT spam LOL.. I had a look, it sucks!
kD
Gotta be a better way. This guy is doing 1/2 of a square foot like for an hour or more. If I have 400 sq feet of floor to polish it would take me 800 hours for what this dude is doing. It would be cheaper just to get a new floor.
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Somehow, the raw wood looks better...

Is that the glut that comes out of his woody? 🤣🤣
