Cheap my foot. 😂 Spent almost $6,000 USD on one rabbit with vet bills last year and this year with a lipoma removal off his chest and a 30 hour stay an a ER vet (would never go back to that place ever again with how unprofessional and not bothering to update me on his condition). The vet tech thought I was lying that he was 10 years old. I told her I had no reason to lie when we have 6 rabbits from 6 to 12 years of age. They all were adopted from the humane society mostly breeder dumps at 4-5 months old. We have also fostered over 40 rabbits in 10 years for the humane society. We fostered babies that needed to gain weight before they get spayed/neutered. Unfortunately here in the US there is only one company that insures rabbits and looking into it I saw numerous complaints so we didn’t bother getting it.
Thank you and God bless you for educating people and these videos. I get told I must have the most spoilt rabbit but that sad truth is he's not spoilt at all! He just has what he needs and costs me a lot of money. Here in Australia his hay costs me approx $140 for 4kgs of Orchard hay, $105 for 4kgs of Timothy hay and $70 for 3 mini bales of oaten hay- and that's from the cheapest places I can find! So he can cost me around $170 a month to feed which I think would be around 85 pounds. Then there's his litter and seagrass mats that he goes through and other things and his fresh food which is quite expensive where I live. It has cost me around $1200 for the bunny areas to put down organic wool doonas and blankets to keep him warm and to cushion his little feet so he doesn't get sore hocks. (I wish bunny stuff was made of healthy organic cotton and wool because polyester is really bad for everyone including bunnies that live indoors) Please keep sharing your journey with Honey and your memories of Hugo - when you said you reduced Hugo's fresh veggies because he gets the trotts I realised I was giving Snuggles too much and have reduced his daily portion and he's so much better. Thanks to you I realise that not all bunnies are the same. Your channel has blessed many of us and we thoroughly enjoy seeing Honeys antics and how sweet Hugo was. He's the Boss of the House 🏡. When I first Adopted Kirby 🐰, I Promised Him No Cage Never Again. I meant it. He's a Big Time Chewer and Eater. I buy all his Fresh Hay, Treats, and Chew Toys online. Fresh Greens no problem, every 2 days. I spend more Money on Kirby 🐇 than I do on myself. Half the Toy's you buy they will not touch. He Chewed up the first 2 beds and blankets. I bought 2 Tent 🎪 beds and blankets, 2 litter boxes. 1 in the living room and 1 in the bedroom. He will follow me All over the House 🏡. At night when I go to bed, he will follow me to the bedroom, and go to sleep 💤 , until I Feed him in the morning. He will wake me up at night, giving me a Free Haircut. Demanding Pet's and Treats. I love your videos so much and I agree people buy rabbits thinking there going to be 'cheap animals' but they need just as much work as dogs ❤❤
