We interviewed Rick Groombrige with the amazing back drop at East Kirby with "Just Jane".
He is an ex RAF pilot who flew English Electric Lighnings, F-4 Phantoms, Tornado F3 and he also did an exchange with the French flying the Mirage III/IV.
He also flew the Lancaster bomber in the Battle of Britain Memorial Flight (BBMF) for a few years and currently taxis "Just Jane" at The Lincoln Aviation Heritage Centre.
In this interview he discuses the types he flew, Bosnia and shows us around the Lancaster while explaining the aircraft.
We hope you enjoy.

Served under Rick in the RAF, the most amiable, grounded gentleman you could wish to meet.
He's done things that most of us would have given a left nut for. He didn't need to - he seems to take everything in his stride.
Excellent interview, even if the wind didn't play along at times.
I think the fighter jets are the coolest aircraft.....so pleased I watched this, Rick Groombridge is a right dude! Thank you for looking after us RG. 🇬🇧

Dear Rick. Great to see him here!
Avro 683 Avro Lancaster B.1 Special 32 aircraft were adapted to take first the super-heavy (12,000 lb) ‘Tallboy’ and then ‘Grand Slam’ bombs and included up-rated engines (with paddle-bladed propellers to give more power) and the removal of gun turrets to reduce weight and give smoother lines. For the Tallboy, the bomb bay doors were bulged slightly whilst for the Grand Slam, they were removed completely and the area faired over. For some Tallboy raids the mid-upper turret was also removed. This modification was retained for the Grand Slam aircraft and the nose turret was also later removed.

I love your videos! Keep up the great work!!
Thank you :)
Avro 683 Avro Lancaster B.III This variant, which was built concurrently with the B.I and was indistinguishable externally apart from being fitted with Packard Merlin engines. The Packard Merlin used Bendix-Stromberg pressure-injection carburettors requiring the addition of slow-running cut-off switches in the cockpit.

Excellent
Being such a physically demanding aircraft to fly it is astonishing how the pilots on the dams raid flew for hours at less than 100' the lucky few to return must have slept for a week when they got back!
B52 carries 70K lbs
needs better Audio.
This was one of our first interviews when we used a boom mic.
@@Aircrewinterview Ok Good luck with it all ..Thanks
