The normal everyday things are cheap, but the special weapons and magic stuff is expensive as heck. Only adventurers make those huge profits only to spend them on better gear. Normal people don't.
If you think about it, you could say there is a inflation crisis since the high cost weapons they made could have been meant for the many level 7 or higher that once existed in the city which meant they must have earned much more from expeditions or stronger monsters part. With most if not all high level adventurer dead and the price of weapons already are very high its hard to imagine anyone buying them
There should be, given that they sell magic stones to the outside of Orario, the materials they get is also used in crafting, repairing and such. Rare items are found by higher level adventurers which is also less in number so there isnt much of oversupply in the top and there is also less demand, it could just been the guild storing them or they also get use in the making and repairing of high level armors since they break fast if they didnt have smith with forge skill.
In the books, when Welf is forced to make an unbreakable magic weapon, they use all the gathered loot drops and materials to reinforce the portable forge. After the expedition, they really in the RED. Lilly does level up, though.
